1985 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe. Excellent mechanical condition, runs great, reliable. Original, unmolested AZ car, 2nd owner, 100,035 mi. Immaculate white leather interior with blue dash and carpet (non-smoker), very good white exterior (quality repaint several years ago, no dents or scratches, only few very minor door dings). Have many receipts to document mileage and maintenance by original owner who treated car very well. New Michelin radials 12/2012. Battery 9/2012, brakes and master cylinder 5/2012, new A/C comp 9/2010. Ave 18-20 mpg with the 4.1L V8. New 4-channel Kenwood stereo (USB/CD, Pandora) but have original cassette unit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. 2013 Cadillac ATS Premium 2.0T 6MT
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The new Cadillac ATS is an impressive sport sedan, often considered one of the most serious threats to the BMW 3 Series. Unlike GM's previous attempts, this four door brings aggressive styling, commendable chassis dynamics and class-leading handling to the highly competitive battle. And, like its daunting German foe, Cadillac offer several powertrain choices.
I recently spent time with the ATS 2.0T Premium on my home California turf. Fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip rear differential, my tester was lightly optioned, with only a paint upgrade and a cold weather package. That brought the as-tested price to $46,305, configured the way I imagine most enthusiasts would prefer. This meant I fully expected to enjoy a week with a tossable sport sedan that boasted "fun-to-drive" as its middle name, but all was not well...
