1976 CADILLAC ELDORADO WITH ONLY 35K MILES! GARAGED, ONE FAMILY OWNED SINCE NEW. MY GRANDFATHER DROVE THIS CAR DAILY FROM 1976-1985. HE WAS RETIRED AT THE TIME SO VERY LITTLE MILES WERE PUT ON THE CAR. THE CAR HAS NOT SEEN MUCH OF THE ROAD SINCE.

THE BODY WAS REPAINTED LAST YEAR. IT WAS 95% RUST FREE. THE ONLY AREA THAT HAD A RUST ISSUE WAS THE LOWER DRIVER FENDER. IT WAS REPLACED WITH A METAL PATCH PANEL THAT FIT PERFECTLY. ALL NEW BUMPER FILLERS WERE ALSO PUT ON THE CAR AT THIS TIME. AS THEY HAD DRIED OUT & CRACKED BADLY. THE CAR IS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW. NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FLOOR BOARDS & FRAME ARE ROCK SOLID!

THE ENGINE RUNS VERY STRONG. TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. IT HAS A NEW WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, MASTER CYLINDER & L/R CALIPER.

THE INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION! NO RIPS, TEARS OR CRACKS ANYWHERE! JUST SOME MINOR WEAR ON THE DRIVER SEAT BACK. THE CARPET COULD ALSO USE A SHAMPOOING.

ALL OF THE CHROME & STAINLESS MOLDINGS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

THE POWER WINDOWS & SEAT WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE RADIO WORKS BUT HAS STATIC. POWER ANTENNA DOES NOT WORK.

THE CHROME 17" WHEELS HAVE BEEN CUSTOM MACHINED TO FIT THE CENTER HUB PROPERLY. I HAD THEM ON A 68 ELDORADO THAT I OWNED A FEW YEARS AGO. THE TIRES HAVE VERY GOOD TREAD. BUT ARE OLDER AND COULD USE REPLACING. I HAVE CADILLAC CENTER CAPS FOR THESE 17" WHEELS. BUT THEY WILL NEED AN ADAPTER TO BE FITTED TO THE CENTER HUB SIZE.

I ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL 15" STEEL WHEELS & WHEEL COVERS. IF WANTED.. THEY CAN BE PUT ON THE CAR AND I'D DROP THE PRICE $700.

ISSUES:
1) THE WIPERS ARE NOT WORKING. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S THE MOTOR OR RELAY.
2) L/F WHEEL BEARING IS STARTING TO MAKE NOISE & WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED EVENTUALLY.
3) A/C BLOWS COLD. BUT NEEDS A MINOR RECHARGE EVERY YEAR.
4) THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE MAKES NOISE. IT EITHER NEEDS TO BE LUBRICATED OR REPLACED.

I HATE TO SELL THIS CAR. BUT I'VE LOST STORAGE & DO NOT HAVE THE CASH TO STORE IT & FIX THE FEW MINOR THINGS IT NEEDS. SO I'M OPEN TO REASONABLE, SERIOUS OFFERS. MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. IT'S A VERY SHARP, SOLID, STRAIGHT & LOW MILEAGE CAR. I'M SURE THE NEXT OWNER WILL BE VERY PROUD TO OWN.

SERIOUS BUYERS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL YOUR QUESTIONS. PLEASE HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE & ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER.

THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY LISTING.

GM slashes prices in China as sales falter

Thu, May 14 2015

Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Cadillac CT6 styling will be evolutionary, not like Elmiraj

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Well, this is at least a little disappointing. It turns out Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the CT6, won't be ushering in a wholesale change in the company's design. That's coming from GM Design guru Ed Welburn, meaning it should be taken as gospel (unless of course he's just trying to hoodwink us). "It'll be different and it will certainly stand out in the portfolio," Welburn told Automotive News. "But you won't see a real shift in direction." Instead, Art and Science will be shown in yet another new form, and will "continue to evolve," according to Welburn, although what that means is unclear. What we can say for certain, though, is that Art and Science on the CT6 will not evolve into the stunning Elmiraj Concept. "I think Elmiraj was more of an influence on some other things we're working on for Cadillac," Welburn said, we're guessing with a smirk and an air of mystery. Considering we have yet to see the CT6, it's hard to tell whether this will be good news or bad, although based on the critical reception to the Elmiraj, we're a little bit disappointed by Welburn's statements. Still, only time will tell whether the styling of the CT6 will really work out.

Ghostbusters director tweets first photos of new Ecto-1

Wed, Jul 8 2015

Ghostbusters is heading back to theaters next year with a new look. Rather than bringing back the original's aging comedic actors, four actresses are taking over the starring roles, including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Although, one of the movie's major highlights is missing from that list – the Ecto-1. Originally based on a 1959 Cadillac ambulance, we're now getting the first glimpses of the decked-out, ghost-hunting wagon from the new version thanks to director Paul Feig on Twitter. Purists might like that the Ghostbusters are sticking with a Caddy, but the producers are going for a slightly newer, more macabre approach, as well. Rather than an ambulance conversion, the latest one starts as a hearse. Feig also has his Twitter profile picture of a ghost taking over as the hood ornament, and he even tweeted a shot of the rear. @szewcik_james Okay. pic.twitter.com/sHkx1Soj6p — Paul Feig (@paulfeig) July 8, 2015 Being the Internet, Feig is being deluged both with hyperbolic vitriol for changing things, and praise for the switch. He has politely tweeted about the situation. Not blocking or deleting. I hear you all and appreciate all your input, good or bad. Thanks. https://t.co/pxZsWGeNyL — Paul Feig (@paulfeig) July 8, 2015 Keep in mind this Caddy hearse is about as old today as the original Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters' release in 1984. Having the ladies driving a '50s Caddy might stretch the imagination too far even in a movie about fighting the undead. This approach seems like a perfect compromise between old and new.
