Cadillac CT6 shows its face in 2015 Oscars ad [w/video]

Have you been watching the 2015 Oscars? No? Then you've missed your very first look at Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the imaginatively named CT6. Don't worry folks, we've got the entire spot, titled The Daring: No Regrets, available below. Marking the start of the new Dare Greatly campaign, the 60-second spot will be joined by three others during the Oscars' broadcast, and features a number of unconventional luminaries from the worlds of fashion, finance, technology and film, contrasting their common beginnings with their exceptional accomplishments. It's a powerful spot... and then the CT6 arrives. Asking "How dare a 112-year-old carmaker reinvent itself," a white CT6 is spotted (viewed through what looks like a bad Instagram filter) cruising slowly down a New York (we assume) street. The car itself is big and wide – properly American and Cadillac in its proportions – and features a very handsome evolution of the latest CTS' styling, with a new take on the brand's distinctive headlight and grille design. 2015 Cadillac Escalade on sale in April priced at $71,695*

With the fourth-generation Cadillac Escalade set to go on sale in April, Cadillac has released the pricing data for its fullsize luxury SUV. While there's no retail configurator yet, the data posted on AOL Autos - and confirmed by Cadillac - shows that the 2015 Escalade will have a starting price of $71,695 (*not including $995 for destination).
This new starting price is about $8,000 more than the outgoing model, but Cadillac is quick to point out that the latest 'Slade is packed with more standard equipment in the new base Standard trim that actually puts it more on par with the midlevel Premium trim on the 2014 model (currently priced at $73,245). These new standard features include Magnetic Ride Control, LED headlights and taillights and 20-inch wheels.
Stepping up to the 2015 Escalade Luxury, the price increases to $75,695 and includes added equipment like 22-inch wheels, head-up display, power fold-and-tumble second-row seats and safety systems such as forward collision warning and lane departure warning. The top-rung 2015 Escalade Premium will start at $80,195 adding features such as a rear-seat entertainment system, illuminated exterior door handles and the Driver Assist Package consisting of front and rear automatic braking and adaptive cruise control.

Next Cadillac CTS-V confirmed for Detroit

As a car enthusiast, you should be excited for the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Hell, we can barely contain ourselves – it's shaping up to be a great show. And this bit of news only heightens our expectations – Cadillac will be bringing its third-generation CTS-V to January's North American International Auto Show. That bit of high-performance news has been confirmed to Autoblog by Cadillac officials. In fact, we've received an official invitation to the brand's press conference, and while the latter is light on information, it does say, "it's time for the V-Series to elevate to the next level." Considering our last experience with the CTS-V, we're not sure what there is left to elevate, although we're hopeful that Caddy will come up with something. What that could be, of course, is very open to speculation. When the last CTS-V debuted in 2009, it arguably outgunned Germanic challengers like the 500-hp BMW M5 and 518-hp Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG for a lot less money, boasting a detuned version of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1's 6.2-liter supercharged V8. Could that trend carry on, with the next CTS-V borrowing the supercharged, 650-hp mill from the new Corvette Z06? If escalation is the name of the game, the Z06 engine would seem to once again allow Caddy battle it out on firm, big-booted footing with BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
