1972 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible.

New Tires, recent dual exhaust(sounds sweet). New passenger side CV Shaft.

This is a car I only know about the past 12 years of history of. This was a friend of mines who loved this car. He took the wheels off every winter and either covered it or put it in his garage. It was his weekend cruiser. He took good maintenance care of this car. Getting what it needed, when it needed it. A few years ago I towed it when the CV shaft broke. At that point he took the top motor out to replace or have it rebuilt and was going to go through it and do some of the little things that bothered him. It never got there. He recently sold his house and I moved a bunch of items for him and bought the balance.

I put the shaft in the front. I wired up the choke so it wouldn't load up while driving. It starts hard due to this. Its the original carb, and everything under the hood is original and intact. I did not want to do anything to change that at this point. The car runs really nice once warmed up and sounds pretty mean. I have only taken this short cruises and one good run on the interstate to make sure it was solid and smooth. I would not hesitate to drive this car just about anywhere, other then the gas mileage is like one of my tow trucks.

Car could use a cleaning. I have not made any attempt to clean or cover anything up. It will clean up very nice. I believe the interior to be all original, including carpet which is in great shape. Seats have some stains that should come out. One being when I stepped on the back seat when disconnecting the top arms to make it easy to raise and lower manually.

Paint is a 50 mph paint job that is pealing in places.( check last pic on passenger rear quarter.) It was painted years ago and looks like it was a brownish color originally. Its a nice car that gets many compliments around town. Its not a show car, but a very affordable classic, going on antique, driver. The right person could easily take it to the next level or better. No rot on the car. Solid everywhere.

Delivery is available. I would be willing to drive it just about anywhere for a fee. But It would be cheaper to fly in to (BTV) Burlington International Airport, and drive out. Airport is 15 minutes from my shop.

Very important. Vermont does not issue titles for vehicles 15 years or older. This means I can't get one. At all. Most states will allow you to purchase if you get a temp reg from DMV. I cannot do this for you, due to needing an out of state ID to prove the plate is being used for in transit. Check your local DMV. Some will work with just a Bill of Sale.

Please keep in mind this car is 40 years old. Please ask questions, Call Anytime Towing 802-878-8467 anytime day or night. I try to describe the items the best I can. I may be missing something. So asking questions helps.

I am starting this auction at $2000 with a no reserve. So if you bid, its sold. High bidder takes it. I would only end auction early if I felt there was something wrong with the vehicle. So bid with confidence.

I will work on better pictures. I am having some tech problems and I am not a computer person. So these were done with a crappy phone, I apologize.

I was required to put something in the title line. There is no title.

Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.

Cadillac CT6 to be lighter than CTS, get PHEV model

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

Cadillac is suddenly one of the most talked about automakers in the US with Johan de Nysschen taking control. The brand claims that it eventually wants to become, once again, the standard of the world. One of the first vehicles to actually prove whether that's possible is its upcoming CT6 flagship sedan. We still don't know what the production version looks like undisguised, but other important details are falling into place. The latest big news sheds some light on the Caddy's powertrain and some estimates of its weight and size.
General Motors product chief Mark Reuss dropped the details at the automaker's Global Business Conference. According to The Detroit News, he revealed that the CT6 would use a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a plug-in hybrid would be an additional option. He reportedly claimed it would be the most "powerful six-cylinder gas engine in the segment" and said the hybrid could get around 70 miles per gallon.
Reuss also revealed that the CT6 would be about 53 pounds lighter than the current CTS, despite being about 8 inches longer, according to The Detroit News. If that's the case, the new flagship is about 203.5-inches long, which is 1.5-inches more than the XTS.

Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors

Tue, Sep 13 2016

The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
