I am clearing out some of my project cars preparing for moving. Today you have the opportunity to buy a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville project car. This is a very rare car with only 2100 Sevilles made that year. To make this car more rare, it is a factory A/C car. This Eldorado does have rust as they all do, but most of the rusted panels are available from Classic Fabrications in MA. The main metal fabrication that would need to be done is the rear rolled pan which was cut off due to rust and damage. The doors will need repairs as well. Trunk lid is nice. I do have a good trunk floor out of another '57 available for purchase if the winner bidder is interested. I will include a good used windshield to replace the broken one in the car now.
The previous owner of this Eldorado started to do a restoration on this car. He media blasted the entire car inside and out. There is no bondo in this car. The rust you see in the pictures is the rust that the car has. The front frame has been media blasted and painted. The area in front of the passenger rear wheel has already been repaired with metal, just needs some finish work. That is as far as the owner got before he got involved in another project car. Can you say A.D.D.!
The engine in this Seville is numbers matching. It is frozen and needs rebuilt or you could change it out for a 350 Chevy engine or LS1. That was the previous owners plan. This Seville would make an awesome restomod or custom and would be worth big bucks when done! Another reason I think this would make a good restomod is that the car is missing a few parts that I did not get from the previous owner. The parts I do not have for the car are the inner door armrest pulls, the chevrons for the top of the front fenders, a gas pedal, power trunk pull down parts, and the under hood A/C parts. The Seville will also need a new gas tank available from Auto City Classics, but the very rare Eldorado only filler neck is there.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me or call Barry at 301-740-8110. Due to past problems I do not accept bids from Ebayers with "0" feedback. A Paypal deposit will be due within 48 hours, with balance of payment for the car due within 7 days. Please make sure you have funds available before bidding. I will store the car for up to 4 weeks after the auctions end. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. If you would like to do a Buy-it-Now, please contact me and be ready to make the Paypal deposit. Good luck!

Cadillac planning more Vsport models
Wed, 28 Aug 2013There's a new intermediate class of luxury performance cars emerging. Audi has been doing it for years with its S-line bridging the gap, in many cases, between the standard fare and the full-on RS performance range. BMW's getting in on it with the M Sport line slotting in below the full M models. And now Cadillac is joining the fun with its Vsport offerings.
Models like the CTS Vsport and XTS Vsport are packing a new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 410 or more horsepower (along with bigger wheels and brakes) to slot in between the standard model and any impending V variant. Well, it appears Cadillac isn't about to stop there.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Cadillac product chief Hampden Tener revealed that, based on the response to the XTS Vsport, the brand is planning more Vsport models. He did not, however, indicate which would be the next to get the slightly sportier treatment. With the full ATS-V expected to pack a version of the same engine powering the aforementioned XTS and CTS Vsport models, an ATS Vsport would have to pack a smaller engine to fit in below. That only leaves the SRX crossover, Escalade SUV and the upcoming ELR hybrid. Food for thought.
Cadillac teases camo'd ELR ahead of Detroit debut
Tue, 08 Jan 2013With the 2014 Cadillac ELR being introduced next week at the Detroit Auto Show, General Motors has revealed another picture of its luxury range extended electric vehicle. Last month, we saw a dark, teaser photo showing some of the body detail for the electric coupe, but this recent photo shows the Cadillac in full camouflage testing in California back in September.
If this car looks familiar, it's because our spy shooters got a jump on GM by catching the car in action and providing pictures from all angles. There are still no official details for the ELR yet aside from the fact that it will share the Voltec system with the Chevrolet Volt, but we'll finally see the car unveiled in Detroit a week from today.
Junkyard Gem: 1998 Cadillac Catera
Wed, Dec 14 2016A decade or so after Ford tried to swipe some US-market sales from European luxury marques by selling the German-built Ford Scorpio with Merkur badging, General Motors opted to sell the German-built Opel Omega luxury sedan as a Cadillac. The Catera was a reasonably nimble rear-wheel-drive sedan with a 200-horse DOHC V6 engine, and its badge-engineered nature made it a much less costly gamble than, say, the Cadillac Allante, which had its bodies built in Italy and flown to Michigan for assembly. Unfortunately, it had no manual transmission option, and Americans who remembered the miserable US-market Opels of the 1970s were put off by the Catera's Opelness. Its $29,995 list price was quite a bit cheaper than that of the (slightly less powerful) $39,800 BMW 528i and a bit less than the (slightly more powerful) $33,585 Acura 3.2 TL's cost, but the Catera didn't sell in large numbers. This one made it to a respectable mileage figure, and the nice interior shows that it was well-cared-for during its 18 years on the road. The ads for the Catera featured a cartoon duck named Ziggy. Fast, fun, fiendishly flexible! By 2000, Cadillac had ditched the duck and was touting the Catera's value. Related Video:
