1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Barn Find Stored 29 Years on 2040-cars

This 57 Cadillac is a true barn find that was left stored away in the Nevada dessert for the past 29 years. When the car was parked it was a runner according to the last owner who purchased it running from the previous owner but said it had issues with the dual carbs which he removed sadly enough and replaced them with a single carb manifold hoping to fix the problem. The dual carbs and the dual carb air cleaner are lost to history.

The mileage on the car reads 76452 ..When I first acquired the car I wanted to see if the engine would run. So, I put it on jack stands, unfroze the water pump from rust, installed a new fuel pump, by passed the gas tank, added a new battery , primed the carb....it started... The engine starts and runs like a sewing machine, the transmission goes in gear with it sitting on jacks and the tires turn. There are no brakes as the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt which is being done today...The doors function perfectly but there is one passenger front side glass needing to be replaced, the trim for that window is there. The power windows on three windows move slightly and the driver’s side power window motor is in a box. The interior is rotting from age and is all there except on the front doors where I removed it and put it in a box . The back seat and arm rests as well as the front parts seat are all there and obviously needs to be restored. The dash components are missing on the passenger side in the photos but are all in a box including the original radio. The trunk has one trunk bracket bent and is off the car also in the box. There are 4 original rims present but all the white wall tires are rotted from sitting. The centers of the rims are missing. The original jack is in the trunk. The trunk is perfect with no rust

The car has no major body damage or rust in the fenders or doors and has not been hit. The frame looks perfect and shows no signs of damage. The car shows no signs of rust which is normal for a car that has been in the dry dessert this many years. The only rust that is apparent is in the rear of the top where it looks like water got trapped under the vinyl and rusted thru. All the chrome is present on the car and nothing seems to be missing...

2013 Cadillac XTS [w/video]

The Cadillac Of Stopgaps
As confusing as most alphanumeric car names have gotten in recent years, at least one constant has been that the letter "X" is generally indicative of a crossover. Then why did General Motors use this letter on its new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan? Well, for that, we'll have to look to the world of mathematics where "X" stands for an unknown variable or a placeholder. Now we're talking. The XTS is just an interim product sitting at the top of Cadillac's four-door food chain until the brand gets a true flagship in place. That sounds like a lot of resources to spend on what will likely be a one-and-done model, but the automaker needed to get something - anything - to replace the DTS.
So here you have the 2013 XTS. A big luxury sedan that was created to bridge the gap between Cadillac's recent past and its pending future. Going into our week with this XTS knowing that it was a stopgap measure proved to be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we know (or hope) that this car will act as a baseline for future high-end Cadillac models, but at the same time, we couldn't help but be mindful of past stopgap models, albeit in more entry-level segments, like the Cimarron and Catera.

Cadillac teases camo'd ELR ahead of Detroit debut

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

With the 2014 Cadillac ELR being introduced next week at the Detroit Auto Show, General Motors has revealed another picture of its luxury range extended electric vehicle. Last month, we saw a dark, teaser photo showing some of the body detail for the electric coupe, but this recent photo shows the Cadillac in full camouflage testing in California back in September.
If this car looks familiar, it's because our spy shooters got a jump on GM by catching the car in action and providing pictures from all angles. There are still no official details for the ELR yet aside from the fact that it will share the Voltec system with the Chevrolet Volt, but we'll finally see the car unveiled in Detroit a week from today.

Cadillac boss: We will have diesels

Tue, Aug 18 2015

Johan de Nysschen doesn't usually mince words about his plans, and the Cadillac boss says that diesel-fueled models are on the horizon for the luxury brand in the US by the early 2020s. The four- and six-cylinder engines under development would launch first in Europe about 2019. "We will definitely bring them to the US," de Nysschen said during a press event, according to Automotive News. Unfortunately, the Cadillac president isn't saying which models would get the diesels, yet. This plan has been in the works for at least several months, and Cadillac made mention of the two oil-burners earlier this year during the unveiling of its new V6 engine. De Nysschen broached the possibility during an interview at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and he also referred to the inclusion of hybrids and plug-ins into the company's lineup at that time. Last year, a rumor suggested the addition of a V6 turbodiesel into the Escalade range. There were also rumblings of an oil-burning ATS during that model's launch. While Cadillac is no stranger to offering diesels in Europe, the decision to develop these new ones could come at an inopportune time. Governments there are rapidly moving against the fuel in favor of electrification. Tighter emissions regulations could also be on the way for the EU. Related Video:
