Thank you for reading my eBay ad.  You’ll note my history and 100% positive feedback!

I am a car collecting individual involved in our Cadillac-La Salle Club locally and nationally, and purchased this car earlier in the year from a dear friend that was the original owner from new that passed away in February.  The car has been in my care since then.

Did you know that “DHS” stands for DeVille High Luxury Sedan?  Well it’s true, and this car is equipped with so many options that I don’t really have the ability to list every one, so I’ve taken a snap shot of the window sticker for reference.  It’s fully loaded and has been extremely well cared for since Day 1 by the local Charlotte Cadillac dealer, Cadillac Of South Charlotte, where it was purchased new on 9/29/03.  I’ve got every single purchase document including original Bill of Sale and every single dealer maintenance record since new.  The car was always pampered and babied by its’ perfectionist owners, and always garaged and rarely even driven in the rain.  It was mostly used for highway trips by the original family from North Carolina to New England during the Spring and Summers when weather was good.  So, these 84,145 miles are mostly highway miles!

I recently had the car fully serviced by the Cadillac dealer and all items are up-to-date and the car needs nothing.  It runs beautifully, has no leaks, no strange noises, and no error messages, and is ready to roll for you.  Here is a list of the recent items done:

  • North Carolina Emission Inspection – Passed June 10, 2014

  • Replaced Cabin Air Filter

  • Coolant Fluid Flush and Exchange

  • Replaced Engine Air Filter

  • Replaced Engine Fuel Filter

  • Complete Fuel System Service

  • Power Steering System Service

  • Transmission Fluid Service

  • Change Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter

  • Replace Rear Shocks

  • Replaced Air Injection Pump

  • Machine Rear Brake Rotors, and replace Rear Brake Pads

  • Fully Charged Battery

  • Replaced Radiator Cap

In addition to the above, I’ve personally detailed every inch of this beauty.  We applied a clay bar to all painted areas to remove any contaminants from the nice White Diamond Finish, and then polished all of it to protect it and to add “shine to the shine”.  We also cleaned and conditioned the leather interior.  Still also, we tinted the windows all around to help keep the car cooler in our hot summers.  It makes an enormous difference!

During my time with the car, I have primarily only driven it sparingly and have even taken it to a local Cadillac club car show earlier this month in Hickory.

This car starts and drives beautifully.   It is really a floating living room.  It garners attention when it’s out.  The Bose Stereo System makes the inside of the car a concert hall and the climate control system functions perfectly on all settings and will chill you out in no time! There are no squeaks, rattles, or strange noises when driving.

As with any older car, there are a few things worth noting:

  • The front bumper cover is scuffed on the passenger side front corner, and needs to be refinished.  It’s not always noticeable except under certain lighting, and the photos might not capture it too well.

  • There are two small chips in the windshield, but they are minor and are not “expanding”.  They have been there for a few years.

All of the body on the car is solid and very clean, polished, and presentable, with no rust or prior damage with the exception of the scuff on the front bumper cover.

Note:  More photos are available at: http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p589/tradow1/Cadillac%20DHS/-2033190264_zps32e7a8a2.jpg

I am also happy to take more photos as you may need and want for your review.  Just ask!

I am selling the car due to the fact I am currently downsizing my collection.  The sale of the car has absolutely nothing to do with the car itself, it is phenomenal in every way!

You are welcome to contact me to see the car and to view it in person.  The reserve is reasonable and any offer will be considered. The vehicle title is free and clear, and the car is also for sale locally so the auction might be ended earlier at the seller’s discretion.

Please do not bid on the car unless you can afford to!

Please plan on completing the transaction within a week of bidding, unless you make other arrangements with me in advance of the close of the auction.

Thank you!!

Travis

Lincoln Aviator vs Cadillac XT6 | How they compare on paper

Thu, Sep 5 2019

There have been big, three-row family crossovers for quite a while now, but until recently the luxury market hasn't fully embraced them. Sure, you could literally get one with a third row, but unless you were a kid, chances are the term "dungeon-like" was going to be tossed around. Things are changing now, however, as new and redesigned entries are starting to hit the market. We've recently had a chance to get our first drives of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator and 2020 Cadillac XT6, two all-new three-row crossovers from American luxury brands. We also got a turn behind the wheel of the updated 2020 Volvo XC90. However, since none of our editors have yet to drive to drive them all, we wanted to see how they compare on paper, examining their engine specs and interior dimensions. We also included the 2020 Acura MDX, the original three-row luxury crossover, which continues to sell well despite approaching the end of its current generation. That it offers a hybrid model makes it that much more applicable given the Aviator and XC90 also offer gasoline-electric powertrains, albeit of the plug-in variety. 3 Row Luxury Crossovers Powertrains View 1 Photos Non-hybrid MDX has a 5,000-pound max tow rating. How do their performance and fuel economy compare? This one is absolutely no contest. The 400-horsepower Lincoln blows away its competitors despite having a price tag that's similar to the 310-horsepower Cadillac and in between the XC90's T5 and T6 models. At least the Acura is considerably cheaper. Besides the eye-popping output, the estimated 0-60-mph time of 5.5 seconds (gleaned from the mechanically similar Ford Explorer ST) is appreciably quicker than the others. Now, fuel economy is a bit lower, but the efficiency of Volvo's four-cylinder engines are likely more susceptible to varying due to driver differences. It should also be noted that the Cadillac gets the same combined fuel economy estimate as the Aviator despite having 90 fewer horses and 144 fewer pound-feet of torque. Just one of the ways where the XT6's prospects dim in the presence of its cross-Michigan rival. The Cadillac is also not available as a hybrid model. The others are, but are disparate. The Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring and Volvo XC90 T8 are similar in concept: range-topping models that are as much about adding performance as they are fuel economy. Their hefty price tags certainly reflect that as well.

Akerson says Cadillac will get a larger sedan within two years

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It seems that during a recent affair showing off the 2014 Cadillac CTS, General Motors CEO Dan Akerson confirmed reports regarding a new Cadillac flagship sedan. According to USA Today, which Akerson was visiting, he said that a sedan larger than the XTS would debut within the next two years.
This matches up with what we heard earlier in the month about a Cadillac model that will go up against the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (not a pricier, low-volume sedan also discussed in that article). But this is the first time a high-profile executive name has been attributed to such a report, and the first time a broad timeframe has been mentioned. This article adds that the unnamed car will be rear-, and all-wheel drive with a platform "loosely based" on the new CTS, with styling closer to that car than recent Cadillac concept vehicles. The XTS will continue production of course, as well.

Cadillac CT6 gets a plug in Shanghai, will come to US

Mon, Apr 20 2015

Don't call it the third coming of the Chevy Volt. The unsurprising debut of the Cadillac CT6 PHEV in Shanghai today has a powertrain that sounds an awful lot like the one that can be found in the Volt and the Cadillac ELR. The plug-in CT6 – identical to the CT6 that debuted in New York earlier this month – has an 18.4-kWh lithium-ion battery (just like the 2016 Volt) and offers an all-electric range of around 37 miles. It also copies the "Regen on Demand" feature from the new Volt and the battery cells "use the latest generation cell chemistry found in other GM plug-in vehicles." But Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen doesn't see the two powertrains as similar in at least one important way. General Motors calls the Volt and the ELR "extended range electric vehicles" (EREV) but in a statement, de Nysschen says that the plug-in hybrid CT6 is, "an ideal platform for Cadillac to offer its first plug-in hybrid." That GM is using the PHEV terminology rather than EREV is going to be important to some, even if the practical difference is only semantic. And yes, we all understand the irony of de Nysschen – the same guy who has a history of speaking ill of plug-in cars – hyping them now. Back when he worked for Audi, he said the original Volt was too expensive for what it offered and was thus, a car for "idiots." Speaking in Shanghai today, de Nysschen said the new CT6 PHEV was, "an EV without any of the disadvantages or range constraints," according to Automotive News. If the batteries are similar to GM's other EREV/PHEV cars, the CT6 powertrain is at least different. The ELR uses a 1.4-liter engine, while the new Volt has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder mill. The CT6, on the other hand, has a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with direct injection. There is also an "all-new rear wheel electric variable transmission (EVT) with exclusively designed motors," that will give the CT6 PHEV, "smooth, spirited acceleration." The EVT is a two-motor-unit that uses three planetary gears. Maximum overall system output is 335 horsepower and 432 pound-feet of torque. Perhaps most interesting for American audiences is the fact that GM's press release, available below, makes multiple references to US-market sales of the PHEV. Official details on the EV range and fuel economy will be made available closer to the car's US launch.
