Up for bids is a 2000 Cadillac Deville DHS. They don't get any better than the DHS guys, its got it all. This car has the Northstar engine and the head gaskets have been replaced some time ago and the car runs great! The temp gage goes up half way and stays there, NO overheating problems!!! The car hasn't lost any water or had any other mechanical problems since the work was done. This car is ready for the long haul, get in and drive. The block was drilled, tapped, and the oversize studs put in the correct way with parts from Northstar performance. You don't have to worry about head gasket problems any more. Also the car only has 91000 miles on it right now but they will add up some because I am driving it almost daily. The interior is super nice in this car, no rips, tears or stains. The pics make the interior look somewhat dirty but its just the pics, interior is clean!! The trunk is also super clean. This car has the front and rear heated seats and also front and rear lumbar adjustment. Carpet is nice. This has the Bose stereo system with radio, tape and CD. The exterior paint is nice and shiny with only normal wear etc. There are a few minor dings on the hood and trunk from what appears to be hail damage from some time ago, nothing major. The top is showing quite a bit of wear from being in the sun so much as this car is from NC originally where it belonged to a church and the pastor drove it. You don't have to worry about rust as the top has a fiberglass panel under the vinyl. It can be replaced for a reasonable price. The AC on this car is acting up from time to time since the engine work was done. It comes on when it wants to, was told I just need to add some more 134 to it. It does work but not all the time. Seems to do better at highway speed. The tires are almost new Michelins but the side walls are dry rotted quite a bit. Ive been running them with no problems but probably should be replaced soon. The pic shows one wheel center cap missing but I have put a new set of 4 on it recently. Overall guys this is a beautiful car inside and out. It is luxury all the way. I have put a lot of money into this car having the head gaskets replaced so the buy it now price is a steal on this car. Again, it runs great, shifts great and is a very nice car. Checkout my feedback guys as its around 580 and all positive so rest assure you dealing with an honest ebayer. You don't get great feedback like that if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. Thanks for looking and don't miss out on this great deal on a beautiful Cadillac. Ask any questions you may have. If you have less than 10 positive feedback you must contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. also I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally. I know a great shipper should you need it shipped to your location. This car has a clean WV title ready to sign over to the new owner. Remember this is a LOW mileage car.

SRX-replacing Cadillac XT5 spied for the very first time

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Cadillac has got big plans in place to revitalize its lineup, with new sedans, coupes and crossovers. And it all starts with this, the replacement for the SRX.
Expected to be called XT5 in line with the brand's new naming scheme, the crossover will be based on a scalable new platform called C1XX - or Chi, for short. In its shorter form, Chi is anticipated to underpin the XT5 as well as a new Chevy crossover and the next-gen GMC Acadia. In long-wheelbase form, the platform is slated to give us a larger Cadillac crossover as well as a new Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
Power in the XT5 will be provided by a choice of turbo four or atmospheric six, potentially to be transmitted through GM's new nine-speed automatic.

GM To Offer Car That Will Almost Drive Itself

Mon, Sep 8 2014

Cars that can talk to each other and almost drive themselves at freeway speeds are just two years away from the showroom, according to General Motors executives. The company announced Sunday that the semi-autonomous system for freeways will be an option on an unidentified new 2017 Cadillac that goes on sale in the summer of 2016. In addition, another 2017 Cadillac, the CTS, will be equipped with radio transmitters and receivers that will let it communicate with other cars, sharing data such as location, speed and whether the driver is applying the brakes. The announcements were made Sunday at the opening of the Intelligent Transportation Society World Congress being held in Detroit this week. They are part of a barrage of similar declarations that are expected from other companies throughout the week as the industry shows off progress toward self-driving and safer cars. The freeway system, dubbed "Super Cruise," uses cameras and radar to keep the car in the center of a lane and also stay a safe distance behind cars in front of it. The system will bring the car to a complete stop if traffic halts without driver action, and it can keep the car going in stop-and-go traffic. Other automakers, such as Mercedes-Benz, now offer similar systems that work at low speeds, but GM says it's the first to announce a system that operates at highway speeds. Others could have freeway systems in two years, though. "If the mood strikes you on the high-speed road from Barstow, California, to Las Vegas, you can take a break from the wheel and pedals and let the car do the work," CEO Mary Barra said in remarks prepared for the conference's keynote address on Sunday. But GM said the car still won't drive itself, and the company is working on a system to monitor drivers to make sure they're still paying attention. Details of that system weren't released. "Sensing technology is not yet to the point where the driver can check out," said John Capp, GM's director of global safety strategy. "This is a level of automation that can be done, that is feasible." The new Cadillac that will get Super Cruise hasn't been officially announced yet. But executives have hinted that GM will build a big rear-drive Caddy to lead its lineup in the coming years. Also Sunday, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced that it will partner with GM, Ford Motor Co.

How GM's grueling 24-hour test gets the kinks out of its performance cars

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

One of the biggest challenges automakers face when designing a high-performance car is making sure that it is both fast and reliable. For General Motors, any car that might be taken to the track by its owner - like the Corvette, Camaro Z/28 (shown above) and the Cadillac CTS-V, for example - undergoes a rigorous and strenuous 24-hour test by engineers at the Milford Proving Grounds, as pointed out by Car and Driver.
We've posted on this topic in the past - on a video showing the Camaro ZL1 being brutalized, for instance - but this article gives a more in-depth look at what actually happens behind the scenes... including what that poor ZL1 went through. Though the test isn't for 24 hours straight, the cars are pushed as hard as possible by some of GM's best drivers with only the brakes and tires replaced frequently.
We don't want to ruin the fun for you, but it is an interesting article that tells just some of what GM does to develop its sports cars. Check out the full article over at Car and Driver for the rest of the story.
