1997 CADILLAC DEVILLE

(PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD BEFORE BIDDING)

This auction is for a beautiful black over Refrigerator White 1997 Cadillac DeVille. This model was the base of the DeVille line up for 1997 thru 1999 but still came nicely equipped. She is a garage kept beauty and has only logged 48,000 miles. There has only been two owners before me!

This low-mileage beauty was a new car trade-in at a local Chrysler dealership in 2013. I spoke to the couple that traded in the Caddy and they’re sorry they ever made the deal. Both the first owner (a widow) and the second owner (the couple) claim to have taken great care of this Cadillac and it shows! It’s your typical go-to-the-store-&-church car. The paint shines like new – it’s obvious that the car has always been garage kept.

The light tan leather is butter soft and the performance and ride are typical Cadillac. The entire vehicle shows very little wear which matches its mileage.

I’ve only driven this Cadillac less than 200 miles but it performs and rides the way a Cadillac should. Tires are in great shape. This Caddy is ready to go anywhere!

If you have ever wanted to enjoy the luxury of a low mileage Cadillac and not spend a fortune to do so, this is your car. I would have no problem driving this car across the country & back.

This DeVille is not perfect! Keep in mind this car is 17 years old and has its imperfections. I don’t believe you’ll find a perfect 1997 DeVille for less than twice what I’m asking for this one, especially one with this mileage. It’s an absolute pleasure to drive. Original owners manual and both original sets of keys are included. The only downside is that the original key fob is not working. The buyer can purchase a used fob on EBay for $35 to $50. You can have the key fob programmed by a mechanic or a local GM dealer.

Now the small print:

Ask questions through E-Bay before you bid. The pictures should answer 95% of your questions.

No trades!

Obviously a 17 year old vehicle doesn’t come with a warranty.

If you need permission to buy this vehicle, please get it before you bid!

If you win the auction it doesn’t mean you have won the right to just come and look at it.

Transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. The origination zip code is 30143.

$500 non-refundable deposit (cashiers check only) due within 48 hours of auction end.

Balance due in full within 7 days of auction end

All funds must clear before the vehicle and title leave the property. Cash is king!

Cadillac Elmiraj sedan RWD flagship finally caught testing

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

While we still have no insight as to it being named Elmiraj, STS or some other permutation of the -TS nomenclature ("LTS" has apparently been registered by GM, as well), new spy shots give us proof positive that Cadillac is indeed hard at work on a rear-wheel-drive flagship model. Spied for the very first time in some north country testing, these shots provide a first look at the upcoming range-topper from Cadillac.
Impressively long and large bodywork ride atop new General Motors' corporate Omega rear-drive architecture here. Heavy cladding over camouflage may discourage finding any details, but the overall, sharp-edged and blocky design is clearly reminiscent of what we've seen on the new CTS and the recently debuted ATS coupe. A strong, wheels-at-each-corner stance helps emphasize the length of this stretched Caddy, and everything about the proportions seem spot-on for a new fullsize flagship for the brand.
It's quite possible that Cadillac will ultimately festoon this large sedan with detailing reminiscent of the original Elmiraj coupe, though thus far we've only seen prototypes wearing four-doors.

GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

Fri, Jul 21 2017

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.

Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping

Wed, Dec 6 2017

When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
