1996 Cadillac Deville Base Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
North Babylon, New York, United States
Up for auction is a beautiful 1996 Cadillac DeVille. I am selling this for my parents. They have owned it for around 5 years and have had the car serviced and maintained as required, including the replacement of certain parts. They bought it as a second car but now my dad does not drive as much these days so they only need one car.
This car in this color really stands out. You just don't see many in this color and it has the older, more sought- after Cadillac styling, before they went with the angular styling. Car has plenty of power and the transmission shifts smoothly as if it were new, and the passing gear will really put you back in your seat for a large vehicle. All of the features in this car work, all of the dashboard diagnostic information works. Air Conditioning and heat work excellent as do all the power seats, window, and electric trunk pull down. AC was serviced and the large part in the firewall was replaced (I think it is the condenser). This was a labor intensive job that you don't have to worry about. Also serviced were the brakes and some brake lines were replaced. The alternator was replaced and the battery is brand new (1000 CCA Duralast Gold). The tires are in excellent condition. One of them is a blackwall because that particular tire got a flat and they did not have the thin whitewall style in stock. So that is a new blackwall tire and the other three are fairly new whitewalls under three years old with less than 5,000 miles on them in my estimation. Body has no rust and underneath is solid too. Car was garaged so that may be why the body is in such good shape. Owners do not smoke. Interior smells nice, not musty or anything like that. See pictures for rest of the description. Look at the condition of this car. The body and undercarriage seem to defy aging. This car has the beautiful "ragtop" roof and upper door trim which adds to its beauty. The body is almost perfect but has one or two dings (that you'd be hard pressed to find), and almost unnoticeable scratches here and there from normal use. There is a mark on the cloth top that I did not try to remove for fear of the color running. Headliner is nice and there is no water leakage inside the vehicle. Car is very quiet inside and glass is perfect. Stereo and cassette player work, though some speakers should be replaced due to their age. I believe this car to have cruise control (I checked that feature in the auction listing) but I am not 100% sure. If it does, I don't think we ever used it. This car likes to be piloted. Issues: This car is my parents' car. It has 82,000 miles on it and runs, looks, and drives great. Just this winter it started leaking a little oil(after sitting for a while since they don't use it in the snow and we've had a lot of snow) which is common for the Northstar engine. I dried the bottom of the motor a few weeks ago and it only dripped a few drops since. Also, if the car is not used for a while, the battery sometimes loses charge (common for these cars and can be easily remedied). The latter is an easy fix and I was going to fix it for them but now they are selling it so the next owner can fix it if desired. The oil leak could be costly (or not) but does not have to be addressed now whatsoever. This car can be used as a regular driver in the condition it is in right now. I have driven it from time to time and it is so comfortable and fun to drive. With the large interior, all occupants are comfortable, unlike some of today's so-called luxury cars that skimp on space. The rear auto leveling works as is should too. Note: Contents in trunk are not part of the auction. I left them in there so you can see how much it holds. If you want to see the car in person, email me and I will coordinate a visit with my parents. Any questions you may have, I will do my best to answer them. If I don't know the answer I will ask may folks and then email you back so I may need a day to get back to you but I will do my best. Note: CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AS WELL. SO IF IT SELLS LOCALLY, I WILL END THE AUCTION DUE TO THE CAR BEING SOLD LOCALLY. Bid with Confidence as I have 100% feedback. Buyer sends $400.00 deposit via Paypal only and is responsible for picking up vehicle or making arrangements for vehicle to be picked up after full payment has cleared. Vehicle will not be released until full payment is received and clears. Car is in 11703 location. Car is sold as-is due to age. There is no warranty on this vehicle. |

11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
A few signs that Cadillac's revival is taking hold
Mon, 08 Apr 2013Only a flatworm would not have predicted the Cadillac ATS would help increase sales for America's erstwhile luxury brand of record; however, even the best automotive oracles didn't realize by how much: The ATS fueled a 49-percent increase of the brand's year-on-year sales in March, the sixth straight month of growth for Cadillac. The momentum helped push General Motors to post a 6.4-increase in sales in March versus 2012, leading its domestic competitors.
Dealership salesmen are among the first to register the shift occurring at Cadillac. A Texas dealer related an incident in which he helped a mother affix a baby seat in a car for a test drive, explaining that as opposed to the older buyers that are still a Cadillac mainstay he's getting "a pretty diverse group that's coming through the door now" who are "younger and better educated." Aided by incentives on the ATS, Cadillac's sales are up 38 percent so far this year, overtaking Acura as the fourth best selling luxury brand, and GM stock is benefiting with incremental gains because of it. Based on early response, the new 2014 Cadillac CTS should keep things going in the same direction.
The trend at the Wreath and Crest is part of a larger sales trend happening among domestics - with other models like the Dodge Dart and Ford Fusion doing well - and overall US car sales. Head over to Bloomberg for the big picture and role the ATS plays in it.
2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid Drivers' Notes Review | Seamlessly green
Fri, Jan 5 2018In many ways, the Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid is the most interesting car the brand sells. Despite having a turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, it makes the most torque of any CT6, even the twin-turbocharged V6 model. It also has a claimed electric range of 31 miles and can still manage a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg with just the gas engine. Even its origin is interesting, since its final assembly point is China. To cap things off, it's also the second most expensive CT6 in the range. To find out if the CT6 is worth that money, and has more to offer than fun facts, we spent some time behind the wheel. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: I achieved 34.1 miles per gallon for my roughly 14-mile roundtrip in the CT6 hybrid. This sedan is a rolling example of where luxury is heading in the near term: Existing models souped up with hybrid tech, and the green features will go along way toward keeping big sedans like this relevant. It's a smart play for Cadillac to add a product like this. Otherwise, it's a fairly standard-issue CT6, which is a solid car. The flashy head- and taillights look great. The design is angled, creased and nicely proportioned. The interior is comfortable and roomy. It's a nice car. Cadillac invested a lot in the CT6, and it shows. Rumors have long swirled that the brand will add a larger flagship, though in this climate, that's hard to envision. For now, the CT6 does the job as Cadillac's standard bearer. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: Of all the different CT6 variants available, the CT6 PHEV is the one I would pick for myself. Why? Because the hybrid powertrain finally delivers on the quiet, refined driving experience I want from a flagship luxury sedan. I was a bit surprised by this, too, since the gas engine under the hood is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder used elsewhere, which isn't the smoothest thing in the world. But assist from the electric motor helps keep the four-cylinder from having to wind up too much to move the big Caddy, and when the gas engine does rev hard, it's well muffled by whatever insulation is in the car. Besides aural refinement, the power delivery is oil-on-ice slick. The blending of electric and gas power is seamless. There's no waiting on the turbo to spool up, and there's no loss of power at higher rpms with the electric motor. They work in perfect harmony providing excellent low-down grunt and solid upper-end power. The transmission is super smooth, too allowing for happy wafting wherever you go.
