1990 Cadillac Sedan Deville 4 Door 4.5l V8 - 135k - Black On Black - Very Clean! on 2040-cars
Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States
1990 Cadillac DeVille 4.5L V8 This listing is for a 1990 Cadillac DeVille that runs and drives well with just over 135,000 miles. My mother purcahsed this vehicle from a family friend about 7 years ago. I believe she is the second owner of the car and it was previously driven by an older man who lived in North Carolina. As long as we have had it, it has been carefully driven and well-maintained. Some features include the following: Tires have 80% tread, new windshield wipers, clean OEM Cadillac floor mats and black leather interior. The water pump, inlet gasket and serpentine belt were very recently replaced. I have recently driven the car and there are no mechanical issues to speak of. Gas mileage is 15MPG city, 23 MPG hwy (according to cargurus.com). Car is currently being stored in a garage. Some minor problems with the car are as follows: Air conditioning currently not working (may just need a charge), stock radio has some feedback at times, cassette player isn't fully functional, headliner sags but is neatly stapled up, there is a very negligible amount of body damage including a small dent on the hood and some scratches on the driver side. I get complements on this car every time I drive it! Take this opportunity to get a clean and presentable classic car at a GREAT value! Terms: No shipping is available, local pick up only. Cash in hand in order to test drive. Non-refundable $200 deposit required within 24 hours of winning the auction. Payment must be received in full within 3 business days of sale. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time if vehicle is sold locally (within the exception of the last 12 hours). Bill of sale will be completed and title will be signed over upon receipt of payment. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. Cadillac abandons plans for six-digit flagship sedan
Mon, 01 Jul 2013So much for that party. Cadillac has announced that it is walking away from plans to build a high-dollar, rear-wheel-drive ultraluxury sedan. The low-volume model would have been based on the lusty Ciel Concept, and the production iteration would have carried a price tag well over $100,000. Executives with the automaker reportedly claim the model wouldn't have bolstered the brand enough to be worth the investment.
Even so, Automotive News reports Cadillac is still on track to build a range-topping four-door to go head-to-head with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That model will likely be constructed on the company's upcoming Omega rear-wheel-drive platform, but we won't see it bow until at least 2016. Right now, the front-wheel-drive XTS sits at the top of the Cadillac lineup, and while that machine and it's twin-turbocharged V6 variant makes a compelling argument against certain luxury entries, it falls short serving as a legitimate competitor for the likes of the 7 Series and S-Class for enthusiast drivers.
Opel director Sedran to succeed Docherty as Chevy Europe boss
Wed, 26 Jun 2013When longtime General Motors executive Susan Docherty announced she would be stepping down from her post as the head of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, there was some idle chatter that plans for the creation of a new global overseer position for the Bowtie brand was behind the move. And while US sales chief Alan Batey has indeed assumed control of Chevy worldwide since her departure announcement, Docherty's vacancy is being filled after all, with Opel chief strategist Thomas Sedran taking up the reins.
That's according to Automotive News, who reports that Sedran will be tasked with pulling Chevy out of a sales funk, much of it pegged on Europe's stagnant auto industry, which has sunk to a 20-year low. AN notes that Chevy's EU sales plunged 32 percent to 57,584 units through the first five months of 2013, but the everyday value brand is faring worlds better than Cadillac, which has sold just 167 units in Europe over the same time period.
Sedran, 48, has been in the auto industry for over 20 years. Most recently, at Opel he had been working on long-term plans for the marque, and was appointed to the brand's management board in April of last year. Prior to joining GM, Sedran was employed as a management consultant for AlixPartners, where he worked closely with Opel for six years. Sedran will assume his new duties beginning July 1.
Cadillac SRX production moving to TN, next-gen Equinox going to Mexico
Fri, 29 Aug 2014It's a good week for the town of Spring Hill, TN, as General Motors has announced that its factory in the city of 31,000 will receive a $185 million contract to produce engines. On top of that, the next-generation Cadillac SRX crossover will be built at the factory (NA models are presently built in Ramos, Arizpe Mexico), which was once famous for being the home of GM's now-defunct Saturn brand.
The factory is one of GM's six facilities around the globe that will screw together the company's new line of three- and four-cylinder Ecotec engines. Spring Hill currently builds the 2.0-liter, turbocharged Ecotec, as well as the naturally aspirated 2.4 and 2.5-liter variants.
Spring Hill's vehicle assembly lines were idled in 2009, but were reactivated in 2011. The SRX is just one of the products meant to benefit from last year's $350-million investment, and should have a positive impact, creating or retaining around 1,800 positions at the factory.
