The 1976 Cadillac Deville 4-door Sedan represents the END of the true first generation Cadillacs. The 1976 Cadillac Deville was the last year before GM started with the first generation of down-sized Cadillacs. Additionally, it was the last year of the 500 cubic inch big block. Style-wise, the "76" Deville was the final year of the pillar-less four door and the last Deville marketed with fender skirts. This particular Deville is an unbelievably clean, one owner car with 67,700 genuine miles. The original owner of this Cadillac was my wives great aunt who passed last year in her very late 80's. She drove very sparingly resulting in the very low mileage on this car. She hated leather seats so she ordered the still perfect cloth interior which is very comfortable. The Cadillac has all the normal options which all operate perfectly including "76's" introduction of the standard 6 way power seat. The climate control air conditioning has, upon arrival to Florida, been retrofitted with R123 and works perfectly as does everything including the 8 track player in the stereo system. Additionally, when we received the car we had a complete overhaul done, freshed the brakes both front and rear and upgraded the alternator from the stock 63 amp to a 100 amp unit. There are a couple of very minor surface rust spots around the rear tires where dirt and stones have been thrown off the tires and knocked the paint off. Also visible in the photos, is a bit of a dent on the passenger side rear quarter from when she misjudged her garage. This car represents that quintessential story of an old lady almost never driving a garage kept classic. A driver that NEVER abused the car. My wives aunt was the executor of the estate, took possession of the car and delivered the car to my wife. Technically, its not a one owner car anymore.......but it is. This is such a nice car and I am positive you will enjoy it if you become the new owner.

GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe
Thu, 05 Dec 2013If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next. 2017 Cadillac XT5 shows off its new metal in LA
Thu, Nov 19 2015Cadillac is in the midst of a comprehensive production overhaul, and few of its new arrivals will be as pivotal as the new XT5. Replacing the old SRX, the XT5 was revealed in the metal here on the floor of the 2015 LA Auto Show. Joining the new CT6 under Caddy's new naming scheme, the XT5 represents GM's assault on German competition like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes GLC, Japanese rivals like the Lexus RX, Infiniti QX50, and Acura RDX, and its own cross-town nemesis, the Lincoln MKX. And to better fend off their advances, the new XT5 promises marked improvements over its predecessor in every way. The model you see here is, to our eyes, handsomer than the model it replaces, adopting the Art & Science brand's latest design cues. It offers a fresh cabin space loaded with the latest equipment. And it weighs a solid 278 pounds less than the outgoing SRX. Power still comes from a 3.6-liter V6, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive. 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque keep it going, which ought to help it keep pace with the competition. We're looking forward to seeing how it drives in due course, but in the meantime, you're invited to view our live photos from the floor of the Los Angeles Convention Center in the gallery above.

Cadillac volume jumped 6.1 percent there, and Buick's deliveries increased 22 percent, thanks to the Envision crossover's success.
