This link's photos show the details described in the ad.

Up for NO RESERVE auction is my 1970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.  Please read the description carefully as it contains a lot of information that will help you determine the condition of the car.

BODY - The body is 95% original factory paint in very good condition.  There is some fading on the lids.  The only parts that appear to be painted are the left front fender (with some minor rust on the bottom -see linked photos) and the bottom part of the right front fender starting from halfway between the spear and the bottom.  That repainted part seems to have some cracking as also evidenced in the pictures (see linked photos).  There is a minor dent on the right hood toward the passenger window (see linked photos).  The trunk compartment is rust free and in excellent condition.  The trunk rubber is excellent and original as evidenced by the factory watermark (see linked photos).

CHROME - The chrome is in good condition with some peppering on the bumpers (see linked photos), a small dent on the lower left front bumper (see linked photos), some pitting on the side marker bezels (see linked photos).  Headlamp bezels, brightwork and grille are very good to excellent.

INTERIOR - The front seat was reupholstered in correct and matching flat-grain white leather.  The 6-way seat operates, but slowly.  The driver's and passenger's door panels have been re-dyed and are in excellent condition.  The stereo radio works well although the small front speakers sound a bit fuzzy.  Door locks work well.  The steering wheel is intact with slight lines visible under the clear laminate (see linked photos).

ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN - The engine runs well and smooth with no noises and no leaks.  The exhaust is after market and is ever so slightly noisier than stock.  The transmission shifts well and the ATF is red.  AC compressor is disconnected due to worn bearings.  The climate control unit works in all modes.  The tires have excellent tread but have flat spots from sitting (see linked photos).

DOCUMENTATION - The car has 45k original miles and documentation is included in the sale.  Original Bill of Sale is included in photos.

This is a NO RESERVE auction and this car will go to the highest bidder.  I will not remove this car from the eBay auction.  The highest bidder will own this car.  If you have less than 95% positive feedback or fewer than 15 feedbacks, you must contact me before bidding otherwise your bid may be removed.  Please check my feedback.  If you have any questions about this car, please contact me through eBay.  I am usually quite prompt on my replies.  Shipment of the car is the responsibility of the buyer.  I urge you to make an appointment to see this car in person or have a third party view it for you if you are able before you bid.  Although I believe my description and photos are very accurate, your rating of this car and mine might differ.
Good luck.

Cadillac CTS-V, ATS-V special editions celebrate IMSA titles

Mon, Dec 4 2017

This was Cadillac's first year of competition for its DPi-V.R. Daytona Prototype race car in the IMSA Endurance Championship, and it brought home both the manufacturer title and driver title. To celebrate the occasion, Cadillac has created special editions of its fastest road cars, the CTS-V and ATS-V, and their defining features are stickers. Yes, the most unique part of these special Cadillacs is a decal package. But it is an attractive one, with white, gray, silver and red accents inspired by the race car. They're complemented by either a black or white paint job and red side mirrors. The rear quarter windows also get little stickers of the race car's silhouette. Though the stickers are the defining trait of these special-edition cars, they aren't the only features. The CTS-V and ATS-V each come bundled with an array of other features such as a sunroof, the carbon fiber exterior accent package, and a red and black interior that features red-accented carbon fiber trim and Recaro seats. Available as additional options are an eight-speed automatic for the ATS-V, a performance data recorder and a suede steering wheel and shift knob. The other neat tidbit is that, if those extra features are must-haves, the IMSA edition ATS-V is the way to go. The $72,190 price for the sedan is almost $2,000 less than an equivalent standard ATS-V sedan. The regular ATS-V sedan also isn't available with the red and black interior. The special-edition ATS-V coupe starts at $74,390, which is a little over $1,000 more than an equivalent normal ATS-V coupe. Unfortunately for CTS-V buyers, the IMSA edition model, at $105,730, is pricier than optioning up a regular CTS-V. So in that case, you'll have to decide whether the decals and exclusivity are worth it. GM veteran Bryan Nesbitt tapped to head Buick design

Sat, Jun 6 2015

General Motors styling veteran Bryan Nesbitt (pictured above) took over a new role on Monday as executive director of global Buick design and global architectures. Andrew Smith, who previously did that job and also coordinated the look for Cadillac, has remained in charge of the pen at Caddy with this shift. Nesbitt rose to prominence when he designed the Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to Automotive News. He joined GM in 2001 and has been there ever since in multiple high-level roles. In 2007, he was appointed vice president of design for North America and was later briefly general manager of Cadillac in 2009-2010. Nesbitt took over as the vice president of GM's international operations design in China in 2011. This shuffle also moves Ken Parkinson, currently styling boss for Chevrolet trucks, to China as design vice president there. In addition, John Cafaro becomes the person in charge of the look for Chevy globally, rather than previously splitting that role between cars and trucks with Parkinson. GM Global Design Leadership Changes – effective June 1, 2015. Bryan Nesbitt, Design Vice President, GM China will repatriate to North America and assume the position of Executive Director, Global Buick and Global Architectures. He will be located in Warren, MI. Bryan will be the design Champion for Buick in the US and China. Ken Parkinson, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Trucks and Global Architecture will assume the position of Design Vice President, GM China. He will be based in Shanghai, China. Andrew Smith, Executive Director, Global Cadillac and Buick Design will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Cadillac. He will continue to be the design Champion for the Cadillac brand. In addition, he will continue to lead the Global Color & Trim team. He will be based in Warren, Michigan. John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Cars will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Chevrolet. He will be the design Champion for Chevrolet. In addition, John will lead the exterior components and accessories team. He will continue to be based in Warren, MI. The roles and responsibilities of Helen Emsley, Mark Adams, Carlos Barba, Clay Dean, Michael Simcoe, and Teckla Rhoades remain the same. Brock Lesnar does M. Bison impression on Cadillac CTS

Fri, Jul 10 2015

There's no doubt that a huge amount of physicality is required to survive night after night in the ring as a professional wrestler. Conversely, the storylines that tie all the action together are as staged as any soap opera. However, there's nothing fake about watching two axes being embedded in a Cadillac CTS by WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar. Lesnar's prodigious brawn was really putting this luxury sedan out of its misery, though. With matte black stripes on the hood, fake fender vents, camouflage along the side, and a decal proclaiming "Redneck" on the windshield, this particular Cadillac was far from the standard of the world. In favor of the CTS' build quality, Lesnar's hatchets didn't immediately do quite as much damage as you might expect, and he had to take several swings to achieve the destruction here. If you think that destroying a sedan one piece at a time sounds like something from a video game, you aren't alone. Someone else noticed a definite similarity to the bonus round from Street Fighter 2 where you get points for beating up a car at the dockside until it falls apart. Appropriate sound effects were even added, but having Lesnar throw a few pixelated fireballs would have been a nice inclusion, too. For the significantly longer, original version, check out the one embedded below. After Lesnar crushes the CTS, the actual wrestling does eventually ensue. The Caddy even briefly acts as a prop for some of the action.
