1969 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
For sale is a 1969 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Luxury Coupe 2D hardtop. Very nice, big American steel. Desireable all original classic icon automobile. Black exterior looks very good but is a little tired (one older repaint, has a few blemishes and chips here and there). No visible rust problems. The car looks sharp: it is quite presentable and is mostly great as-is. The white vinyl interior is all original and STILL has the (un-damaged) factory plastic protective wraps on the seats! Unbelievable! Amazing looking interior with the exeption of some minor discoloration on the hard plastic surrounds/bolsters near the top of the front seat (s). The odometer shows only 65K miles - believed to be original mileage but cannot guarantee for sure: previous owner stated it was original and the condition of the car generally supports the statement. This nice automobile has all the power options for 1969, even climate control (the radio is not the original, however). The car is solid, straight and clean. Original 472 V8 Cadillac engine with turbo 400 transmission operate nicely. New battery, new exhaust, new shocks, new ball joints, new front coil springs and more, all done by the previous owner. (I have well over $8000 invested in this car). The engine starts, idles and runs very well and the transmission shifts easily and well. The car runs great and is perfect for cruise nights and Sunday drives: it is a pleasure to drive. There is a brand new rear tire on the passenger side but the other tires are older. The glass and windshield are in excellent condition. The chrome and stainless trim is in very good/excellent condition: same with the bumpers. The hub cabs are in near mint condition. This is a true classic car that doesn't need very much at all to bring it to its former glory or just enjoy as-is. A good detail job probably will be enough for now.
Attractively priced with a reasonable reserve, this car is sold as-is and the sale is final. A deposit of $520 is required immediately upon the end of the auction via PayPal. The remainer of the balance is payable within 48 hours via Bank Wire. The Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transportation arrangements and costs to their location.
Thank you for looking!

Cadillac drops the base engine in the 2017 ATS
Tue, Jun 28 2016Cadillac, in an effort to boost sales of the slow moving ATS, is making some changes to the 2017 model. Most notably, the luxury manufacturer is dropping the base 2.5-liter normally-aspirated four-cylinder engine from the lineup, leaving the 272 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four as the base engine. The base 2.0-liter ATS will start at $35,590, $1,380 more than the 2016 model, though that's partially offset by more standard equipment. The base model now comes standard with Cadillac's controversial CUE infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display, a Bose surround-sound speaker system, and a backup camera. Despite the bump in price for the base model, all other ATS trim levels will see prices reduced between $650 and $1,100, depending on the model. The ATS was designed to be Cadillac's answer to the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Though the ATS was originally released at a time where the Germans were slightly off their game, it's never quite matched up in terms of performance or customer perception posting disappointing sales figures compared to the competition. Cadillac has had problems getting customers into cars, and few ATS customers are converts from luxury competition. In order to offload inventory and lure in new customers, the company has previously been forced to offer big lease deals. Many of these customers have come over from more mainstream brands like Chevrolet and Ford. ATS sales have fallen 23 percent through May versus 2015. The car's market share has fallen every year since 2013, currently occupying just 4.5 percent of the compact luxury market. Unless Cadillac can offer some truly amazing deals, we don't expect many shoppers to buy American over the strong German competition. Related video: Cadillac Luxury Sedan
Hotter Cadillac ATS-V+ could use LS7 power
Tue, May 26 2015Rumor has it Cadillac is working on an even hotter version of the ATS-V, possibly called ATS-V+. And the latest intel from Motor Trend suggests this new model might have a great, big V8 under the hood. The V8 in question is the high-revving, naturally aspirated 7.0-liter LS7 from the Camaro Z/28. The hand-built engine makes 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque in the Z/28 – a nice increase over the 464 hp and 445 lb-ft in the standard ATS-V, which uses a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6. Motor Trend says the ATS-V+ will come to market with an eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as the seven-speed manual 'box from the Corvette. A dual-clutch transmission will come to market later. Of course, we'll believe it when we see it. But an LS7-powered ATS-V sure sounds like a great package to us. Here's hoping.
Johan responds to critics again about Cadillac's NY move
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Cadillac's new President Johan de Nysschen has faced a fair amount of criticism since assuming his position at the head of the American luxury manufacturer. From the company's move to New York City to a controversial new naming scheme, the first few months of his tenure have not been smooth sailing. Now, the embattled exec is firing back against his critics, notably Automotive News Editor-in-Chief Keith Crain, in a new column running in AN.
De Nysschen countered Crain's claim that the move to the Big Apple, "can only mean that someone wants to live in New York."
"The relocation decision is entirely unrelated to the personal living preferences of any Cadillac executive. No corporation would tolerate such indulgence by its leadership," de Nysschen wrote. "It is about structurally entrenching a challenge to the status quo by reinforcing the psychological and physical separation in business philosophy between the mainstream brands and GM's luxury brand."
