1968 Cadillac Deville Hardtop Sedan 472 Ci V8 Green Good Running Condition on 2040-cars
Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States
1968 Cadillac DeVille with believed to be 113,000 original miles. 472 CI V8 with 375 HP and 525 FT/LBS. This car is very straight and seems to be rust free with very little bondo. The exterior of the car is in excellent condition. Every trim piece is present and the chrome is in great condition ( there is a small scuff on the passenger side of the lower bumper ) and there is no surface rust. The front drums have been replaced with 12" slotted and cross drilled disc brakes with new master cylinder and proportioning valve. It also has a new fuel pump. The car is an excellent driver with tons of power on hand and tight steering and brakes. Tires have plenty of tread on them. All of the exterior lighting works with the exception of the drivers side cornering lamp, due to a burnt out bulb. Headlights are all new and all turn signals and brake lights work. Interior is all present but in need of some restoration. The front bench seat is in good condition with no rips or tears and all the power adjustments are in working condition. The rear bench also has no rips or tears. The headliner has a one inch tear near the rear view mirror that can be repaired. There is one crack in the dash pad directly in front of the driver. The rest of the dash is in great condition and all parts are present. The door panels have some cracking on the arm rests. All the lights in the dash work except the climate control and radio. The temp gauge, fuel gauge, and speedometer work well. The clock does not work. The windshield wipers work and so does the washer fluid. The radio is present but does not work. The power antennae is missing. All the power windows work well and both of the vent windows operate via the hand cranks. Power door locks work as well. There is some rust in the trunk but it has been treated and seems to have been stopped from advancing but would need some work in a full restoration. The climate control works however I added an auxiliary switch to operate the blower and it needs an AC Compressor. This car is an excellent driver and I drive it every opportunity I get. I recently bought a low mileage original and have no more room for the green machine. This car isn't perfect and that's why I love driving it so much. I've taken it on road trips up to 400 miles each way with no issues. It turns heads and gets thumbs up from young and old alike. She won a trophy in her first car show as well. Great opportunity to get into the classic car hobby with a car that can be fixed up yet can be driven today. |

Cadillac releases updated 2015 CTS
Sun, 10 Aug 2014Cadillac is in the process of applying the new wreathless emblem across its range one model at a time, but rather than simply slap the new logo on the existing models, it's taking the opportunity to roll out some revisions as well. First came the ATS coupe, followed by the updated ATS sedan, and now the flagship brand in the General Motors portfolio has quietly announced some revisions for the CTS sedan as well.
For the 2015 model year, the CTS - which was just introduced last year - gets a revised front end with that wreathless crest but also a new chrome grille with active aero elements on standard models and a black-chrome grille on the Vsport. The revised grille is flanked by new headlights, but behind them the engine lineup carries over: a 2.0-liter turbo four with 272 horsepower, a 3.6-liter V6 with 321 hp or - in the Vsport performance model - a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 420 hp that's still the most powerful V6 GM has ever made. All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission (ditching the six-speed auto on previous versions) and (apart from the RWD Vsport) can be had in rear- or all-wheel-drive flavors.
Cadillac has also given the updated CTS some new electronics (including inductive smartphone charging, onboard wifi, and more advanced parking and lane assist systems) as well as new wheels, trims and color options, details on which you can read in the press release below.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V arrives with 640 hp, 200-mph top speed
Mon, Dec 22 2014Ask the company's executive team, and they'll tell you "this is the maximum Cadillac V-Series." It's the 2016 CTS-V sedan, and it packs the very best of what's possible at Cadillac. And the company says it doesn't think "anyone thought it was possible that we could push [the CTS-V] this far." The big news is what's underhood: General Motors' supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V8, tuned to 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. That's 10 hp and 20 lb-ft less than the monstrous Corvette Z06, and the result is the most powerful car Cadillac has ever produced. With rear-wheel drive, launch control and the eight-speed automatic transmission (sorry, folks – no more manual transmission here), Cadillac says the 2016 CTS-V will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 200 miles per hour. Naturally, Cadillac's engineers say they have tuned the CTS-V to ensure it can put all that power to the ground with the most precision and poise possible. That starts with the excellent Magnetic Ride Control active damping system (with a claimed 40-percent increase in responsiveness)and a 25-percent increase in structural stiffness that should improve overall handling and steering. What's more, a high-performance Brembo brake package comes standard, as do 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in seriously sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that will reportedly offer 1g in lateral acceleration. Cadillac also says that all changes to the bodywork are functional. That includes a carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser that are super light and aid with aerodynamics and weight reduction – all of which will be available as an optional package for folks who like the exposed carbon look. Inside, it's more of what we're used to on lesser CTS models, but there's newly optional carbon fiber trim, microfiber suede upholstery trim, and some seriously awesome Recaro seats. Additionally, as we exclusively reported earlier, Cadillac will offer GM's Performance Data Recorder in the CTS-V. It records high-definition video with data overlays that's sharable via social media. Beyond that, Cadillac will offer the usual smattering of tech goodies, including Siri Eyes Free, OnStar with 4G LTE, CUE infotainment with navigation and Bose audio. The CTS-V will launch later next year, following the debut of the smaller ATS-V. In the meantime, the sedan will officially bow at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in just a few weeks.
