1967 Cadillac Deville convertible

Up for Auction: SUPER LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!

This 67 Caddy convertible has had the same owner since
1967 when he bought it with 4000 miles on it. It was originally
sold new in Flint Michigan where from the factory it was
undercoated and only went thru 2 Michigan winters, but even
then it wasnt driven in the winter snow.  In 1969 the owner
moved to Tucson and the car has been here ever since.
Its been parked in a carport for about the last 15 yrs rarely
driven due to owners age etc. His wife drove it most of the
time when it was driven anyways.

Next time you watch  the movie Goodfellas or Casino
watch how many of these cars are driven by gentlemen
who knew cars knew what to drive. Another good movie
to see these cars in for the period is A Bronx Tail.

Car starts and runs, but it does idle rough. We rebuilt the
carb and after removing any old gas in the tank and lines
but not sure exactly why it runs like it does. I can start
it and drive it around the parking lot and it would drive
possibly drive onto a car hauler. problem.
I may do a mild tune up on
it this week to see if we can get it to run better.
If its not carb or std tune up stuff, I guess its possible it jumped
timing a tooth causing the issue. Its possible, the original owner
couldnt recall if he had ever done the timing chain.
Check back later in the week we will add to the cars description
on if we got it running better.
No smoke from the exhaust at least and no major leaks under
the car.

The fuel tank may need to be dropped and flushed out one
good time too.
But seeing as the car runs and moves on its own, this makes
shipping much easier and less costly.
At the moment we have it running off a small container of
gas under the hood.  If I have time Ill try to empty the tank
and try to get it running off the rear tank.

RESTORE it back to stock or do something along the restomod
way, or rat rod and have an awesome 1 of a kind car
your friends only wished they had for such a low investment.

This car is much more solid then the last 67 we sold. The only
spots we can find real rust is both lower front fenders, which
is a pretty common spot even on AZ cars. But check out all the
pics, the trunk floors etc are very solid and clean other then
a little surface rust.
Check out the pics.
These cars are getting harder to find esp in this shape
which is still affordable for the builder.

DRIVETRAIN:  the original motor runs and sounds good.
Last yr for the 429 V8 4v matted to the 3 spd auto.
Motor does have all the AC stuff including PS, PB and
more. Its a very nice area that would restore with a
little work. Maybe just finish the tune up stuff after
that and should be able to drive it. Well check all the
brakes too. But it stops right now, pedal feels good but
the booster may be going bad.

INTERIOR: All original blue interior shows some wear
and tear for a car with 96k on it, but even for AZ its
nicer then most out there. Obviously its not restored
and as is the interior is fine for a daily driver. Take it
to the next level with a new top, carpet and redo the
front seats for a really clean cruiser.
The chrome inside here too is in amazing shape for its
age. No pitting I could see because of the Az climate.
All the PW currently work and go up and down, they are
slow so may need some lubrication on the regulators
and tracks. PS works well too. The dash is very clean and
represents well for a weekend cruiser or driver.
Radio should work, but think the speaker is shot.
Again, all 4 PW go up and down, but they probably could
use some grease on the tracks etc.
POWER TOP has worked fine every time Ive put it up and
down so nothing bad to report there.

EXTERIOR: Original color is the Blue you see in the pics.
The car has alot of patina and showing its age in areas and
is even down to the original primer and metal in a few spots.
I dont see any signs of bondo anywhere on the car.
Front windshield has a crack in it from age and the
dr side side view mirror is cracked too.
The "missing" front lower bumper grill comes with the car
its loose in the trunk.
Hood hinges are bent, someone tried to close the hood
after some blocks of wood holding on a car cover slid down
the windshield and they didnt notice. Hence the reason
they bent the hinges. They are available used all over the bay.

SUSPENSION: all factory the best I can tell and Im sure some bushings
are old and shocks, but again this stuff is easy to fix these days
then rusted out bodies.
Leave it stock or put some 22" wheels on it.

Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.
People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are

GM adds 1,200 jobs at Detroit-Hamtramck plant

Thu, Oct 22 2015

General Motors is making a big move at its Hamtramck, MI, factory, announcing it will add a second shift and hire over 1,200 workers within the next several months. It's expected that by early 2016, the factory will employ over 2,800 workers to build the Chevrolet Volt, Impala, Malibu, Cadillac ELR, and by early next year, the new CT6. According to GM Hamtramck spokesperson Courtney Zemke, 40 of the 1,200 positions are for salaried employees, while the remainder will be hourly positions. As for where these employees will go, positions are being made available across the factory, so GM isn't focusing on any particular area for its new hires. It's a similar story behind the hiring surge itself. GM said in its press release that the "second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand," a position Zemke reiterated. It's a matter of demand across the plant's portfolio, rather than any one particular product seriously outstripping supply. Naturally, the United Auto Workers is happy with the move. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest said in the attached release. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." Hiring is going on now, with the second shift slated to get underway in early 2016. GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly to Add Second Shift and More Than 1,200 Jobs Plant will nearly double its workforce by early 2016 2015-10-22 DETROIT – General Motors is nearly doubling its workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly by adding a second shift and more than 1,200 hourly and salaried jobs. The addition of a second shift will increase the plant's workforce to approximately 2,800 people when hiring is completed. The second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand for the five cars produced at Detroit-Hamtramck. "This is the result of the award-winning vehicles Detroit-Hamtramck produces and the confidence GM has in our team to build world-class quality for our customers," said Plant Manager Gary West. Second shift hiring is underway, and the shift is scheduled to begin operations in early 2016. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," said UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." The 4.1 million-square-foot Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly opened in 1985. GM has invested $1 billion in the plant over the last six years, making it one of the company's most-agile manufacturing facilities in North America.

2016 Cadillac CT6 First Drive [w/video]

Tue, Jan 26 2016

Cadillac moved to New York, renamed its cars and crossovers, and made cutting-edge technology one of its pillars. It's fighting hard to attract new customers and kill its outdated reputation as an old-man car brand in the United States. Change happens slowly, and then sometimes, all at once. Enter the 2016 Cadillac CT6. This is Cadillac's range-topping sedan. It's almost as long as the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series, yet in some configurations, it's lighter than their smaller siblings, the E-Class and 5 Series. The CT6 is a rolling showcase of General Motors' latest and best technologies, with potential breakthrough features like Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving waiting in the wings. It comes in a wide variety of flavors. The CT6 starts as low as $54,490 with a four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, which is the car that Cadillac hopes will be cross-shopped with the mid-tier Germans. The top-end CT6 Platinum with all-wheel drive and the 404-horsepower V6 begins at $84,460, and it could make S-Class and 7 Series buyers rethink American luxury. Put simply, the CT6 means everything to Cadillac, but it will mean different things to its customers. It can be the executive chauffeur with all the backseat accouterments. Or it can be the massive yet somehow kinda sporty and nimble rear-wheel-drive sedan that weighs only 3,657 pounds. We tried both versions and came away impressed with both the strategy and the execution. It's a little strange to think that Cadillac doesn't offer a V8 in its biggest sedan. Taking the wheel on a sunny, cool day in rural San Diego County, we wonder if a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has what it takes to really move this giant. Our concerns quickly dissipate – this engine is also under the hood of the Chevy Camaro, and its 265 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque are more than up for the task. The big sedan handles curvy mountain roads adeptly. There's not a lot of roll for a car this size, even when we're aggressively whipping through tight turns. This poise comes from the CT6's rigid, lightweight aluminum and steel structure called Omega. We switch through the driving modes but settle on sport for the dash to the lunch spot. The steering is surprisingly tight and the brakes have strong response with little pedal travel. After a quick bite in an old mining town called Julian, we take off in the spotlight CT6, the Platinum trim, powered by the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. It's an enjoyable car to stretch out on the highway.

Cadillac CT6 styling will be evolutionary, not like Elmiraj

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Well, this is at least a little disappointing. It turns out Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the CT6, won't be ushering in a wholesale change in the company's design. That's coming from GM Design guru Ed Welburn, meaning it should be taken as gospel (unless of course he's just trying to hoodwink us). "It'll be different and it will certainly stand out in the portfolio," Welburn told Automotive News. "But you won't see a real shift in direction." Instead, Art and Science will be shown in yet another new form, and will "continue to evolve," according to Welburn, although what that means is unclear. What we can say for certain, though, is that Art and Science on the CT6 will not evolve into the stunning Elmiraj Concept. "I think Elmiraj was more of an influence on some other things we're working on for Cadillac," Welburn said, we're guessing with a smirk and an air of mystery. Considering we have yet to see the CT6, it's hard to tell whether this will be good news or bad, although based on the critical reception to the Elmiraj, we're a little bit disappointed by Welburn's statements. Still, only time will tell whether the styling of the CT6 will really work out.
