1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible

I originally purchased this Cadillac from an attorney in Kentucky last year with intention of a light restoration project.   The 1967 and1968 body styling was always my favorite with the subtle fins and the dynamic forward-leaning front end.  I've enjoyed my time with the Cadillac but my priorities lay with paying off my mortgage, thus I must sell.

Any close inspection of this vehicle will always conclude that it has been well taken care of and garaged in order for it to be in such nice condition.  Clear Title.

The exterior of this car is solid.  I had the car repainted black some time ago.  Although depicting some wear, the  chrome is intact and complete around the car.  There is a quarter size hole in the passenger side front bumper (see picture).  Overall, the exterior shows the typical wear and dings but it’s true to its age.  The trunk and floor pans are solid. The interior is also in nice condition with an almost perfect dash and door panels, and not a single tear in the black vinyl or carpet, which shows no fade.  The instrument cluster and the steering wheel shows some wear and cracks. The seat pattern is distinct from the typical 1967 DeVille seat pattern which leads me to believe the upholstery was redone some time ago or perhaps it was special ordered.

429  7.0L V8 Engine, TH-400 Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top and Factory A/C.  The engine sounds great and starts up every single time.  There are  no leaks from any part of the engine compartment or undercarriage that I can see.    The odometer reads 2,900.  The five digit odometer can not conclude if the original mileage is 102,900 or 202,900 but if I were to base the mileage on the condition and performance of the car, I would certainly go with 102,900.  Cruising down the highway in this land yacht is like riding a fluffy cloud on road paved in butter.

Most of the electrical components are in fine working order.  The original AM/FM radio works great on the days it decides to turn on. Wipers function flawlessly as do the washer spray. Headlights, high-beam, tail lights, brake lights, interior lights, dash lights and courtesy lights and indicators all light up as they should! Turn-signal repeater lights nestled at the scoops forward ends, easily visible to the driver. This is neat option. The gas gauge, odometer, speedometer, temperature gauge and high-beam indicator all function great.  Horn, Power seats and all power windows all work great! The electric convertible top rises and lowers as it should without hesitation, it has never given me any problems.

Please bare in mind; this is a 45 year old car and by no stretch of the imagination is it "mint" condition.  Since I've owned the car I've had the carburetor rebuilt, brake system bled, new voltage regulator and electrical upgrade, new paint, new top, new carpet (including trunk), and a few other things here and there.  What the car really needs is not mechanical but attention to detail, the instrument cluster and steering wheel and little chrome emblems and trimmings here and there can use some attention to bring to mint condition.

If you’re looking for an incredible triple black 1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible this is it!  Anyone is more than welcome stop by and inspect the car.  If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or contact me at my mobile, 305.335.1638.  I will try my best to answer them.  I have listed the asking price at $13,900 and I am willing to consider all reasonable offers.  I am not interested in trades.

Will cooperate with shipper of your choice and ensure the car gets to you safely as possible.  100% Positive Feedback!  Please bid responsibly.  Good luck and happy bidding!

Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.

Combine a self-driving car with V2V, and here's what happens

Sat, Dec 12 2015

Transportation engineers have started laying the groundwork for a traffic world in which cars communicate with other cars and infrastructure like bridges and traffic lights. How about an environment in which cars talk to pretty much everything and everyone? In a preview of its offerings at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, Delphi Automotive will deploy just such a concept. Engineers have designed a system that communicates with traffic signals, street signs, pedestrians, cyclists, even to fry pits and parking garages along a driver's route. To date, engineers and researchers across the auto industry have focused on the technical and safety-oriented foundation of future vehicle-to-vehicle communications, which could help cars share information about everything from traffic tie-ups to upcoming road hazards. Beyond those building blocks, many have projected that V2V could also include more consumer-focused features. Delphi's system, dubbed V2Everything, might be the first that combines those sorts of features in a tangible package. At CES in Las Vegas, scheduled to begin the first week of January, company officials say they'll demonstrate in real-world conditions how V2V technology can be used in an autonomous vehicle to provide a range of critical safety information and leisure and convenience options for riders. The first V2V technology installed on a production car is slated to appear on the 2017 Cadillac CTS. "We imagine a world with zero traffic accidents," said Jeff Owens, Delphi's chief technology officer. "To get there, we will need a convergence of active safety, sensor fusion, connectivity platforms and advanced software." Such software might allow a vehicle to start searching for and reserving parking spots at a programmed destination long before arriving. It could allow riders to place their McDonald's drive-through order from the road and have the food ready for pickup along the route. For the drive itself, the Delphi-equipped car can stay updated on the status of traffic lights around Las Vegas, and can anticipate yellow and red lights. Using smart-phone technology, the car can detect pedestrians and cyclists that may otherwise be hard to see. It can send messages to friends or family to notify them of a driver's location. Some of those features have been available on third-party apps or individually developed by automakers. But this system marries them together in a single system that is tailored for use in self-driving cars.
