This auction is for a 1966 Cadillac Deville Convertible. Prior owner owned the car for the past 23 years. Just came out of 9 year storage. It has the 429 V-8, Automatic Trans, PS, PB, Power Seat, Power Top, AC (compressor missing), Power Windows, Factory AM/FM Radio and Deluxe Leather Interior. There is a split on the drivers side seat bottom. Otherwise the interior is in very nice shape. Door panels, dash pad and rear seat are very nice. All glass is good. Everything on the car works except for the clock. Car has a lot of plastics on the interior and there are no broken plastics. Carpets should be shampooed. The convertible top does have a tear on the back drivers side and a couple of small spots drivers side upfront. This was due to a tree limb falling. I did put some tape to hold it together. Also there is a dent on the trunk lid caused by the same limb.It looks worse then it is . A unispotter (stud gun)) can be used to pull the dent and then repair it. The body on the car is in above average condition. Very solid and straight. There is some minor bubbling on the passenger side down low in a few spots and one spot in front of the skirt area on the drivers side. Very easy repair. Nice and clean body area when skirts are removed. The underside is original and solid, frame is good and solid also. Trunk pan looks good but I did remove the carpet material as it was soiled. Both front and rear bumpers are in good shape. There is some minor surface rust on the drivers side front bumper pod from peeling chrome. As far as the mechanicals I cleaned the points, replaced the plug wires, did an oil change and the car fired right up. The motor runs great but it does have a noisey water pump which will need replacing and what seems to sound like a couple of lifters that are not pumping up to full potential. When you start it cold you hear nothing but as it warms up those couple of lifters seem to sound off. Its kind of tough to describe but thats what I believe it is. Car drives down the road fine but didnt want to go too far because of the water pump. Car has a fairly new set of radial tires. Exhaust is in great shape, all the brakes are good. With a little TLC over the winter this can be ready for the upcoming spring. A good sound investment piece for short money. We have a Maine registration and proper dealer paperwork for a smooth transaction. We have the car listed locally so we reserve the right to end the auction early. If car meets the reserve we will let the auction run to the end to be fair to all bidders. If you need more info or pics please email us or call 1-207-324-5568 Days or 1-207-432-2862 Eves and Sundays

Cadillac CT6 shows its face in 2015 Oscars ad [w/video]
Mon, Feb 23 2015Have you been watching the 2015 Oscars? No? Then you've missed your very first look at Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the imaginatively named CT6. Don't worry folks, we've got the entire spot, titled The Daring: No Regrets, available below. Marking the start of the new Dare Greatly campaign, the 60-second spot will be joined by three others during the Oscars' broadcast, and features a number of unconventional luminaries from the worlds of fashion, finance, technology and film, contrasting their common beginnings with their exceptional accomplishments. It's a powerful spot... and then the CT6 arrives. Asking "How dare a 112-year-old carmaker reinvent itself," a white CT6 is spotted (viewed through what looks like a bad Instagram filter) cruising slowly down a New York (we assume) street. The car itself is big and wide – properly American and Cadillac in its proportions – and features a very handsome evolution of the latest CTS' styling, with a new take on the brand's distinctive headlight and grille design. Have a look at the photo above, watch the ad and let us know what you think of both the commercial and the car that stars in it, down in Comments.
What will the next Presidential limo look like?
Thu, 25 Jul 2013With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.
GM recalling 54k Cadillac SRX, HD pickup models
Thu, 01 May 2014There are more recalls to report General Motors, but these latest actions pertain to newer examples of the Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD. With so much scrutiny on the company's recall strategy, GM is under increasing pressure to call in defective models more quickly, and it appears to be doing so here.
Here in the US, the automaker is recalling 50,571 Cadillac SRX crossovers from the 2013 model year fitted with the 3.6-liter V6 because the transmission control module programming can cause a three- or four-second lag in acceleration at low speeds. The explanation filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "if the following sequence occurs within two seconds: during an upshift from first to second gear (8-10 mph), the driver then brakes the vehicle to less than 5 mph, and then accelerates again," the delay can occur. According to Automotive News, the recall effects 56,400 vehicles worldwide, and the company is not aware of any crashes caused by the problem. The fix consists of a transmission control module (TCM) reflash.
In a separate recall, GM is repairing 51 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from the 2015 model year in the US. In vehicles with diesel engines and dual fuel tanks, the nuts that connect the fuel pipe to each side of the transfer pump between the tanks may be improperly torqued, which could cause a fuel leak. Obviously, this could be a fire hazard. The remedy is simply tightening the hardware. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, there have been no fires actually caused by the potential leak. "Only 21 of the trucks are in customer possession and they can be fixed anytime because there are no parts involved. The others are being fixed at dealerships," Adler said in an email to Autoblog.
