1965 Cadillac Convertible on 2040-cars
Clovis, California, United States
1965 Cadillac Convertible Coupe DeVille 2-Door Currently painted semi-gloss black with pin-striping. Motor: 429ci 340hp Automatic Transmission Power Windows Power Top Power Steering Coker Classic Wide White Wall Tires P235/75R15 all around Factory Fender Skirts She runs and drive well, new brakes and master cylinders on all 4 corners. New Tires all around. Fresh tune up, gas tank cleaned out and radiator fluid washed out. She floats down the freeway at 70mph with no issues. Lights all work properly, heater blower works fine, dash is clean and no cracks. The front power windows work fine. The top motor works fine. The running gear is factory stock, no air bags or cutting. Here are a couple things that I think could use attention: It needs a top, the frame is there, but the top was ugly. The 2 rear quarter windows don't roll up/down anymore. The rear bumper has a couple dings. There are a few rust bubbles on the drivers side rear lower quarter panel, only that side. Rockers and doors are solid. Dash Clock does not work. Most chrome in good condition, just needs some solid polishing. You can drive her just like she is as a summer car or go to town on her. |

GM recalls 3.6 million vehicles for airbag-software problems
Fri, Sep 9 2016The Basics: General Motors is recalling 3.64 million vehicles across its lineup for an airbag-related issue. The recall covers the 2014-2015 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet SS, and Spark EV; 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Trax, Caprice PPV, Silverado 1500, Buick Encore, and GMC Sierra 1500; and 2015-2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Sierra HD, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV. The Problem: Affected vehicles have a sensing and diagnostic module that controls the airbags and seat-belt pretensioners. The software it uses has a defect that can prompt the module to run a diagnostic test under specific driving conditions, which will also deactivate the front airbags and pretensioners. This means that it would be possible for those safety systems to not activate in a crash, potentially leading to injury or death. Injuries/Deaths: General Motors began an investigation that led to the recall after a 2014 Silverado was involved in a crash in which the airbags did not deploy. No information was given as to injuries or deaths. The Fix: Owners can bring their vehicles to a local General Motors dealer where a software update will be installed to fix the issue. The fix will be free of charge. If you own one: General Motors will contact owners of affected cars, and owners can check whether their vehicles are affected by visiting entering their vehicle identification numbers at either the GM Owner Center website or the NHTSA website. Owners can then schedule a time to have the update installed. Related Video:
GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
Weekly Recap: Auto execs face life in prison for recall delays under proposed legislation
Sat, 09 Aug 2014
The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.
