PROBABLY AROUND 25 YEARS NOW. IT ALL STARTED AS MANY OF US KNOW. THE CAR SAT GATHERING DUST AND AGING WITH AN OWNER WHO WASN'T SELLING. AS TIME PASSED I'D OCASIONALLY DROP BY TO VISIT WITH THE CONVERSATION ENDING IN "NO I BETTER HOLD ON TO IT". ANYWAY SOME 12 OR SO YEARS AGO THE GENTLEMAN CAME TO MY SHOP LOOKING TO BUY A HIGH PERFORMANCE BBC CHEVY ENGINE. WELL JUST SO HAPPEN I HAD ONE AND WITH A BEER AND A HANDSHAKE LATER A DEAL WAS MADE AND THE CADI WAS MINE!!! AFTERWARDS WITH A FRESH BATTERY AND PRIMED UP CARB I FIRED THE OLD BEAST UP AND DROVE IT OUT OF THE GROUND THAT IT HAD SETTLED INTO FOR SO MANY YEARS. SINCE THEN I HAVE DONE A MAJOR RESTO AND CUSTOMIZATION TO THE CAR. I WANT TO LET THE PICS DO A LOT OF THE SPEAKING FOR ME DUE TO THE EXTENT OF ALL THE UPTAKING TO GET WHERE IT'S NOW.. THE BODY HAS HUNDREDS OF MAN HOURS OF BODYLINE FITMENT AND BLOCKING. THE CAR IS LASOR STRAIGHT WITH NO RIPPLES!!!! IT'S GLASS SMOOTH WITH HOUSE OF KOLORS KANDIES BURIED IN CLEAR. IMMACULATE THANK YOU!!! ALL STAINLESS PERFECT. GLASS PERFECT. ALL RUBBER AND SEALS NEW . I MEAN ALL !! BUMPERS COULD BE RECHROMED IF YOUR SUPER ANAL BUT I DIDN'T FEEL THE NEED. POWER BRAKES REBUILT POWER STEERING REBUILT. ITS ALL BEEN GONE THROUGH....ETC... HAS CUSTOM SPOTLIGHT,TRAIN HORN AND FLAME THROWER EXHAUST!!! SO COOL AT CAR SHOWS AND CRUISES!!! TALK ABOUT FAMILY FUN!!! THE CAR RIDES GREAT AND HAS A GREAT STANCE. LOW AND SLOW BUT TRUST ME SHE LOVES TO BOGGIE DOWN THE HIGHWAY . SHE FEELS LIKE 80 MPH IS HER THING OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST MY FOOT OH WELL. THERE IS A FULL CUSTOM HIDDEN STEREO IN GLOVE BOX WITH CD PLAYER AND KICKER AMP WITH M.B QUART MIDS AND HIGHS.ALSO( THE PREVIOUS OWNER KEPT ALOT OF RECIETS RANGING FROM SEVICING AND OIL CHANGES ALL KINDS OS COOL DOCUMENTATION. HE WAS A DOCTOR GO FIGURE. ) IM DONE LISTING STUFF SO NOW I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW WHY I'M SELLING. AT THE FIRST OF THIS YEAR I ALMOST LOST MY LIFE IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS IN ICU FOR AN EXTENDED TIME. IT'S BEEN A LONG TOUGH ROAD FOR ME SINCE. BUT I'M BLESSED AND BY GOD'S WILL STILL HERE!!! MY CHILDREN NEED ME. AND TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE FOR THEM AND MYSELF. SO IT'S TIME TO LET SOMEONE ELSE ENJOY THIS CADILLAC AS MUCH AS I HAVE. THERE ARE JUST A FEW SMALL DETAILS I'M UNABLE TO COMPLETE AT THIS TIME LIKE SEATS AND REALLY THAT'S ABOUT IT. SO MY LOSS YOUR GAIN BECAUSE I REALIZE THAT IT'S UNREALISTIC TO RECOVER ALL THE HOURS AND LOVE THAT MY PASSION HAS PUT INTO IT.THE BUYER IS TO ASUME ALL SHIPPING AND HANDLING!!! Sunday Drive: An automotive flavor for every taste
Sun, Feb 25 2018Last week was flush with interesting new vehicle debuts, led by the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover is entering straight into the heart of one of the world's most competitive automotive segments, and it's doing so with a fresh sense of style and a brace of new technologies. Our readers are clearly intrigued – the Santa Fe was the biggest news story of the last week on these online pages. It's fitting that a crossover generated a lot more interest than a traditional wagon, though we don't really have to be happy about it. Still, the completely new, fully redesigned Volvo V60 is worth taking another look at. First of all, it's pretty, in a traditionally Scandinavian way. Second, it's quick, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.8 seconds. And finally, it's practical, with all kinds of room for cargo without the dynamic penalties of an unnecessary lift kit. Moving on from new vehicle debuts, we took another long look at the Honda Ridgeline. It's definitely a non-conformist pickup truck, based not on a body-on-frame platform but on a more carlike unibody design. That means it can't tow as much as some other trucks, but it also means the Ridgeline drives better than any of its more truckish competitors. It's the Swiss army knife of pickup trucks. Rounding out our coverage from last week are three sets of spy photos, each showing the interior of a hotly anticipated new model. One is a truck, one is a crossover, and the last is a sportscar. All of them are worth another look. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the most important news in the automotive world. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled 2019 Volvo V60 | Sleek, swift new twist on the Swedish wagon 2018 Honda Ridgeline | Pocketknife pickup is up for anything 2019 GMC Sierra interior looks just like the Silverado's 2019 Cadillac XT4 interior has actual buttons, no more touch-sensitive panel 2020 Porsche 911 992 spy shots show interior and manual transmission Cadillac GMC Honda Hyundai Porsche Volvo Truck Crossover Wagon Luxury Performance Sedan hyundai santa fe
2014 Cadillac ELR leases for $699 a month
Mon, Jan 20 2014Most Autoblog readers thought the $75,000 price tag on the 2014 Cadillac ELR was too high. If you can't swing the MSRP all in one go, how does a lease price of $699 a month sound? That's the amount that Cadillac is offering on the official ELR website, with some caveats, of course. First off, it appears that this lease price is for just for "current owners and lessees of all 1999 or newer GM vehicles." They will also have to pony up $4,999 at signing (all others will need $5,999). Second, the $699-a-month price is for a 39-month lease. Then, of course, "tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment [are] extra" and "each dealer sets own price." Also, it appears that this lease deal is only good until the end of January. Cadillac started shipping the ELR plug-in hybrid coupe to dealers last month. There are two things to note in the fine print. The most surprising is that the payments are based on "a 2014 Cadillac ELR with an MSRP of $76,000." That's $1,000 more than the official MSRP announced in October. Then we get to the real kicker: The lease limits you to a mere 32,500 miles, which is just 833.3 miles a month. Well, 'limit' isn't the exact word, since you can certainly drive more. All you have to do is pay 25 cents per mile for each mile over 32,500. Drive the national average of 13,476 miles in a year? That comes to 43,797 miles over 39 months, which is 11,297 extra miles and an extra $2,824.25.
Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
