This Coupe de Ville was an unrestored Alberta car, never been apart when I bought it. Beautiful glass, original interior. It's been 100% mechanically restored with new engine, transmission, radiator, complete electrical system, brakes, exhaust, tires, etc. Don't waste your cash on a repainted car that still needs everything mechanical...here is a rust free car that will last a lifetime.

It's had every bit of steel work done, replaced with handmade, perfectly fit panels; several body mounts, inner & outer full rockers, quarter bottoms, trunk drops, floors. It is 100% steel, zero bodywork, what you see is epoxied & painted steel only. Even the insides of the rockers were epoxy painted before assembly. POR15 entire bottom side, seam sealed inside and out. What wasn't replaced is still in the only paintjob it ever had in the 1960s, original color which is Chantilly Maroon w/Alpine White roof.

The motor is brand new rebuilt by Precision Machine in North Vancouver, '57 365, .030 pistons from Egge Machine, 10:1 CR, factory 2x4 Eldorado cam grind, Edelbrock 1406 carb, pertronics elecronic ign, all new internally and externally, alt, starter, battery, carb, all new. Fresh paint on everything. Brand new re-cored radiator by Richardson Rad, all hoses and heater hose new. Bendstens adapter and re-built GM 700R4 OD trans, custom driveshaft, new U-joints. New custom 2" exhaust, shortened Smithys glasspacks, exits through bumper as factory.

All electrical is new, Painless deluxe kit, every bulb holder, wire, all charging system, all of it new, converted to GM 3-wire alternator. All electric windows work great.
Fuel tank got the POR tank treatment inside and out, all new fuel lines & hoses.

Blasted, epoxy & painted original rims, new Coker Firestone Deluxe Champion 8.20x15 WWW tires. Front suspension rebuild including trunnion shafts and kingpin kit, all new.
The rear leafs were disassembled, cleaned, re assembled with poly spring liner, 4" blocks, 1 1/2 coils were cut from each front spring. New sway bar dogbones & bushings. It has a perfect 1/2 drop nose to tail, and not too low.

All new brakes, re-lined shoes, new components throughout, updated to GM 7" booster and GM drum/drum dual circuit master. New lines, flex hoses, wheel cylinders etc. Stops great, drives great, sounds great. Few dings in the side trim, few pits in the chrome. Drivers seat bottom a little shredded, not bad though. New carpet kit not installed, and some extra bits of stainless I've collected will go with it.

I'm forgetting all kinds of stuff, it's been a massive job. Clean papers, passed gov't mechanical inspection, turnkey ready to go. Asking price is only the dollar investment, not including approx 800 hours of labour!!! Email me with any questions, thanks!

Weekly Recap: Automakers rethink the definition of luxury

    Sat, Jan 17 2015

Variety is the spice of life, but it's becoming a prerequisite for luxury carmakers in the ultra-competitive US market. The Detroit Auto Show was strong evidence of this reality. It's not enough to offer attractive and well-appointed cars and SUVs anymore. Luxury brands that want to be competitive need to invest in everything from high-powered supercars to clever hybrids. To be relevant, you need to be green and mean – and everything in between. As General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said after the reveal of the 640-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V: "We are not leaving anything on the table." He was speaking for Cadillac, but he might as well have been speaking for the luxury car market. The CTS-V debuted in Detroit about an hour after Lexus surprised showgoers with the reveal of the RC F GT3 race car and then announced ambitious plans to return to competitive racing. That almost overshadowed the fact Lexus had just revealed another potent addition to its growing F line, the 467-hp GS F. View 20 Photos But for luxury brands, it's not just about maximum horsepower for well-heeled enthusiasts or decadent amenities for the Grey Poupon set. Strong competition from all corners has forced automakers to refine and expand their lineups in ways unforeseen even a few years ago. Case in point: Mercedes-Benz finally has an answer to the BMW X6, rolling out the GLE coupe in Detroit. The X6, which blends coupe-like styling cues with some of the functionality of an SUV, debuted in 2008. Back then it was a punchline, but seven years and more than 260,000 sales later, the X6's success has compelled Benz to respond. Mercedes – one of the strongest proponents of diesel technology – also debuted the C350 plug-in hybrid sedan, which promises a range of 20 miles on electricity, though fuel economy figures were not announced. The car pairs Mercedes' well-received 208-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor for total output of 275 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, Infiniti will add the Q30 hatchback to its lineup by the end of the year, new president Roland Kruger reiterated in Detroit. It's expected to be joined by a crossover variant, and the additions will help strengthen Infiniti in the United States and abroad. "While we're expanding our product line, we're also expanding our market reach," he said. That's something echoed by Jaguar executives, who are preparing to launch the brand's first crossover, the F-Pace, in 2016.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

    Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

Car and Driver 10Best list cracked by Tesla Model S, BMW 3 Series left off

    Fri, Nov 21 2014

Car and Driver is keeping new blood pumping into its annual 10Best cars list with three new entries making it on for 2015 and a perennial favorite falling off. Among the biggest shocks this year is that the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series are no longer named, despite years of some portion of that lineup earning a mention. In another surprise, the Tesla Model S (specifically in S 60 trim to fit under the $80,000 cost cap) makes it to the 2015 roster and is the only electrically motivated member of the group. Despite the loss of the 3 Series, BMW isn't entirely shut out this year, because the M235i gets its name on the list. Car and Driver argues that the little coupe feels like a welcome throwback to the E46 chassis M3 of the early 2000s. In addition to the Model S, the final newbie to the annual group is the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. The inclusion of these new members knocks the Audi A6/A7 family and Ford Fiesta ST out from the 2014 rundown. The other seven models carry over from last year, including the Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Honda Accord, Mazda3, Mazda6, Porsche Boxster/Cayman and Volkswagen Golf/GTI. The 2015 10Best cars list certainly seems to have something for everyone from the hot hatch fan to the family man and even the green car driver, thanks to the addition of the Tesla. Head over to Car and Driver to read its detailed explanations for each vehicle's inclusion, but if you've got a difference of opinion or just really like the list, let us know in Comments.
