Here in cheerful red and white an unrestored all original well maintained 1957 Cadillac Coupe Deville. 5% not original are the chrome wire wheels which are off a 1953 Buick Skylark and the chrome trim on the fins were rechromed. The chrome bumpers are excellent all original. Cadillacs of this era are known for pitting
by the window vents. As in photo mine are perfect and pit free. Paint is factory original and very good. Some small chips on the doors but no dings and few on top of fenders (from past servicing) and were touched up. Bias white walls on balanced rims. Also white wall spare on wire wheel, Full factory jack set and lug wrench. All chrome dash is beautiful and pit free. Headliner perfect. Door panels, carpet, parcel shelf, seats A-1 with no missing buttons, no cuts or rips. Factory white leather. Power windows, seats, trunk, steering, brakes, and antenna working perfectly. Also working tube radio with dual speakers and working clock. Excellent heater. NO AC thank God ..makes servicing engine a lot easier. Engine has new wires, plugs, points and cap. Compression is good. Runs on regular gas and purrs like a kitten. Dual exhaust and tight with no leaks. Transmission changes smoothly and brakes excellent including foot brake. Rust free car. New shocks all around and new battery. Im the 3rd owner. The previous owner of 35 years would remove small chrome parts and clean them with a tooth brush like chrome unit under wipers. Car ALWAYS parked in a insulated garage. There is nothing negative to say except don't wash the car in the sun. The original factory red paint will get water spots on hood and trunk and you will spend rest of the day polishing them out. Im selling to downsize my car collection. Shipping across Canada is affordable. Shipping to U.S.A. is a bit more costly because $600 aprox for duty and customs. However I will assist the buyer as best I can. I have more photos just go to questions at bottom of listing. Payment $1000.00 deposit and balance within 7 days by Paypal or wired bank draft. Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator
Wed, Nov 8 2017General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
Cadillac ATS to go racing in 2015 as CTS.V.R replacement
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Cadillac has been racking up victories with the CTS.V.R in Pirelli World Challenge racing for two model generations now, including recent GT class championships in 2012 and 2013. However, even winning racers eventually have to retire, and it looks like the CTS may be taking a bow at the end of the season. In its place, Caddy is reportedly working on a new racecar based on the ATS Coupe, and it might even get to compete internationally.
According to Racer, Pratt & Miller Engineering is leading the development and is already lapping the ATS racecar in Michigan for testing. It reportedly drops the CTS' V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged V6 powering the rear wheels. Since this is the same team behind the hugely successful Corvette Racing program and the current CTS.V.R, the latest car appears to be in good hands.
The new model would also adhere to GT3 rules, according to Racer, and that might signal a big change for Cadillac's motorsports program. It means that the ATS could be sold to teams in the numerous series around the world that accept these vehicles. That would broaden the luxury coupe's exposure and put it up against GT3 racecars from premium brands, like Bentley, Porsche and McLaren. If it wins, the change could be a marketing bonanza for the brand.
Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
