2007 Statesman Hearse by Superior Coach/AccuBuilt

AccuBuilt is the company that produced S & S, Superior, Miller/Metero, and Eureca funeal coaches in their Lima, OH plant. When this coach was manufactured, AccuBuilt was the largest funeral coach builder in the country. AccuBuilt has been awarded Cadillac MasterCoachbuilder status.

This particular hearse is stunning since it's optional chrome wheels and optional chromed stainless steel crown molding contrast with the majestic and regal looking blue chip paint. Always garaged at a funeral home this car was properly maintained and just came out of service. The coach needs nothing to go back into funeral service; it has been detailed, serviced, and ready to go.

Please do not call or email asking "how much will we take for this vehicle. We are offering this at auction to the highest bidder. Please bid what you think the car is worth. If someone else believes the hearse is worth more they will own the car and it didnt cost you anything. Whoever is the high bidder at the end of the auction will be the winner.

DO NOT BID unless you have your finances in order. A deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction and the balance due within the next seven (7) days. This vehicle is being sold FOB: Long Island City, New York. Transporting the vehicle to your destination is at your expense.

THE SMALL PRINT: We are a licnensed New York State dealer. That means, if the buyer is from New York State we must collect the appropriate NYS Sales Tax for the county in which the vehicle will be registered. In addition, the vehicle will need to be insured and registered before it leaves the dealership. License Plate fees will be added at cost. The only other fees are the NYS Inpection of $37 plus a $75 doc fee.

If you are an out-of-state buyer, and the vehicle is leaving our dealership and the state by common carrier (ie. on a transport truck) all we will need is proper identification plus the $75 doc fee. Should you  be planning to drive the hearse back to your state then in addition to the doc fee there will be a charge of $15 for an In-Transit License plate. In order for a temporary plate to be issued you will need proof of identity and insurance on the hearse.

Lastly, if you have less then two positive eBay transactions or if you have a bad eBay history please contact us prior to bidding. We reserve the right to cancel any bid for these, or any other reason. This vehicle is for sale locally and subject to prior sale.

Here's what else you could buy for the average new-car price of $40,573

Fri, Jan 22 2021

Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. The average price of a new car in America hit a new record in December 2020: $40,573. Not that we're surprised — the average has been over $35,000 for the past few years — but seeing that baseline figure crest 40 large is still a sticker-shock to the system. So, as we do every once in a while, we put our collective heads together and came up with a list of alternatives that you could choose to buy for that sum, new or old, classic or practical. Now, let's be crystal clear about one thing here. We're not actually recommending you make this type of decision. That said, we wouldn't blame you if you did. Managing Editor Greg Rasa: $40,000 will buy a fully loaded Camry or moderately equipped crossover. Or, for $39,997, to be exact, one could go motoring in a fine British automobile. This 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante in Alabama has 21,452 miles on it, and depreciation has worked its cruel magic: It is listed for less than one-quarter of its $168,000 starting MSRP when it was new. A check of other used DB9s nationwide indicates this is a fair price. This Aston's CarFax reveals two owners. (One, really, as the second was a dealership. Looks like it got traded in for a Porsche.) If you're understandably concerned about reliability, its service history indicates no surprises to date. Remember, it has a 450-horsepower 5.9-liter V12. And spring is coming. Of course a used Aston Martin is riskier than a new Camry. But as Louis Prima sang, "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think." What price beauty? Less than $40 grand. Associate Editor Byron Hurd: This price point opens up a ton of options in the "nearly new" luxury space, including a few good enthusiast picks, but my nod here goes to the Cadillac ATS-V. The discontinued, M3/M4-rivaling, 465-horsepower sport sedan and coupe can be had all day long in this price range with low miles. In fact, the real challenge is finding one in the spec you want, since it's one of those old-fashioned cars that actually presented the buyer with choices. Here's a clean, six-speed sedan in an actual color for less than our target price, for example. Coupes are more plentiful than sedans, especially in interesting colors, but there are plenty of them out there.

Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.

2021 Cadillac Escalade's EPA highway fuel economy is worse than before

Thu, May 14 2020

EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade are out, and the news is mostly not good. The redesigned SUV sees slim to no improvement in the Feds' city ratings, and its highway numbers are considerably worse than before. These are estimates for the standard 6.2-liter V8. Figures for the no-cost-optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel six have not been released yet. Specifically, the rear-wheel-drive 2021 Escalade has estimates of 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. Compared to the outgoing 2020 version, powered by the same 6.2L V8, those numbers represent a 1 mpg improvement in city (the lone piece of good news) but are 3 mpg worse on the highway. With all-wheel drive, the 2021 Escalade can't even get out of the teens, with EPA ratings of 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. That's the same city rating as before and a 2 mpg decline versus the 2020 model's highway rating. For further comparison, cross-town rival Lincoln's Navigator with its 3.5-liter turbo V6 manages 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway (RWD) and 16/21 with AWD. No one expects an ultra-large, body-on-frame, three-row SUV to achieve Prius-like levels of fuel efficiency, but it's pretty rare these days to see such backsliding with a fresh redesign. Here's hoping the diesel variant will have a happier story to tell. Related Video:
