As described on the Cadillac website:
" When you hear the word “wagon,” does a riveting 556 HP 6.2L supercharged V8 engine with race-bred Brembo® disc brakes come to mind? The 2012 CTS-V Wagon represents perhaps the most audacious branch of the V-Series family tree. The 58 cubic feet14 of storage go nearly unnoticed when you sit down in the driver-focused cockpit. The dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control suspension reads the road up to 1,000 times a second to ensure constant traction through cornering and altering road conditions. "
RECARO PERFORMANCE SEATS When pushing the performance envelope of the V-Wagon, you want to be firmly planted in your seat. When the G-forces kick in, and they will, available RECARO® Performance Seats envelop the driver and front passenger, so you stay firmly planted on those tightly coiled bends of the road. And with 14 individual adjustments, you can calibrate your seat to personal specifications.
BREMBO BRAKES It’s no coincidence that the brakes found on some of the world’s most sophisticated race cars inspired the brakes on the V-Wagon. Brembo® high-performance brakes feature race-derived two-piece front rotors. Aluminum for the hat and cast iron for the brake rotor enhances the braking performance, especially under track-operating conditions.
REAR VISION CAMERA This feature provides a view of the vehicle’s projected path when the vehicle is put in reverse. Your rear view is intuitively displayed in the navigation system screen. Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist issues audible warnings if the vehicle is within a specified distance of a detected stationary object.
NAVIGATION* AND BOSE AUDIO Every convenience is within easy reach, thanks to the intuitive glide-up navigation system*. Featuring voice guidance, 3-D color imaging, 10-speaker Bose® surround sound, iPod13 connectivity, hard drive for music storage and Pause-and-Play Radio—all accessible on an 8" diagonal LCD touch screen—the glide-up navigation is your all-in-one control center.
NURBURGRING-TUNED CHASSIS The V-Series chassis was developed and tested at the Nurburgring—one of the world’s most demanding tracks, and features dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, a groundbreaking suspension technology that reads the road up to 1,000 times per second, maintaining chassis poise without sacrificing a comfortable ride.
Electronic Stability Control System To help maintain control, the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system responds to sensor information and adjusts the engine power and brake application to help keep the vehicle on the path being steered by the driver.

2015 Cadillac Escalade blings its way into LA
Thu, 21 Nov 2013The new Cadillac Escalade sauntered out onto the Los Angeles Auto Show stage, showing off its new familial face and redesigned interior. That exterior, with its slim, wrap-over headlights and tall, vertical taillights (both made up of LEDs) is a subtle but significant departure from the past styling of General Motors' flagship SUV.
And while there's no shortage of stuff to discuss about the Caddy's exterior, its cabin is where the big changes happen. Aside from the column-mounted shifter, the cabin receives a heavy going-over, receiving Cadillac's new CUE infotainment system and a significant upgrade to the materials. Comparing it to furniture, Eric Clough, Cadillac's director of design for interiors, said, "An exceptional level of craftsmanship has gone into the redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, and it all centers on the premium materials and extensive use of cut-and-sew live stitching."
Under hood sits a 420-horsepower, 460-pound-foot, 6.2-liter V8. Fitted with direct injection and active fuel management, fuel economy for the big Escalade should get a much-needed boost beyond the current model's 14-city and 18-highway miles per gallon, although official numbers haven't been published quite yet. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox choice. Cadillac has also fitted the new Escalade with GM's magnetic ride control system, which should deliver a more refined ride than its predecessor.
Cadillac snags de Nysschen from Infiniti, names him new president
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Johan de Nysschen, the (now former) president of Infiniti, has officially jumped ship. The 54-year-old, who also spent time as the chief executive for Audi USA, has taken the position of president at Cadillac, following a two-year stint at the Nissan-owned luxury brand. In his new role, the 54-year-old will be responsible "for all aspects of Cadillac globally," according to a statement from General Motors.
"Johan brings to our company vast experience in the development and proper execution of luxury automotive brands," said GM President Dan Ammann, de Nysschen's new boss. "With over 20 years in this exact space, especially in the development of the Audi brand, his track record proves he is the perfect executive to lead Cadillac for the long term."
"I have for some time now been impressed by how the new General Motors has been transformed into a formidable force in the industry," de Nysschen said in a statement. "The combination of strong corporate leadership and exceptional engineering resources presents the perfect combination to restore Cadillac to its place among global premium brands."
Nine cars we wish were convertibles
Thu, Apr 16 2015The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and the days are getting longer. At the Autoblog Detroit office we feel like our winter hibernation is finally over. And with warmer temperatures come visions of opening up a convertible roof and cruising. You know, just turn up the bass and let the Alpine blast. There are plenty of droptops on sale in the US, and more on the way (like the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata). That said, we always want more. More! More! More! In that spirit, we cooked up a list of nine cars aren't currently sold as convertible, but ought to be. Check out our picks, below. Summer's just around the corner. Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S In some parallel universe, this car actually happened. Toyota showed us a FT 86 Convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and we immediately started licking our chops over the thought of a rear-wheel-drive convertible based on the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins. These days, the MX-5 Miata is our only option for affordable roadster fun. A competitor to the Mazda seems like a no-brainer to us, especially since we have naught but good to say about the BRZ/FR-S as-is. Unfortunately in our present timeline, this car is as likely for production as a BRZ STI. Which is to say, not very. Dang. Lexus RC F Unlike the FR-S, a convertible from Toyota's luxury division might actually see the light of day. The current IS convertible is about to be phased out, and the Lexus LF-C2 concept from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is really a thinly veiled look at a possible RC convertible. A droptop RC would be plenty good, but let's reach for the starts. What we really want is to run topless in an RC F, complete with that powerful, loud, 5.0-liter V8 engine. Lexus says the RC F is a true competitor to the BMW M4. If that's true, it only makes sense for Lexus to mimic the Germans and offer its performance coupe in a folding hardtop form. Maybach Landaulet Maybach is bach back, recast as an upper crust trim level for Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is seriously awesome, and more luxurious than a trip to the spa. But why not go a step into the truly ridiculous levels of extravagence and bring back that open-top Landaulet? We think your local princess will love this idea, and with better S-Class bones underneath, Jeeves will have a pretty enjoyable ship to steer, too. Besides, with that slick new Mercedes design language, a Landaulet redux wouldn't be nearly as hideous as the old model, pictured here.
