Cadillac CT6 shows its face in 2015 Oscars ad [w/video]
Mon, Feb 23 2015Have you been watching the 2015 Oscars? No? Then you've missed your very first look at Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the imaginatively named CT6. Don't worry folks, we've got the entire spot, titled The Daring: No Regrets, available below. Marking the start of the new Dare Greatly campaign, the 60-second spot will be joined by three others during the Oscars' broadcast, and features a number of unconventional luminaries from the worlds of fashion, finance, technology and film, contrasting their common beginnings with their exceptional accomplishments. It's a powerful spot... and then the CT6 arrives. Asking "How dare a 112-year-old carmaker reinvent itself," a white CT6 is spotted (viewed through what looks like a bad Instagram filter) cruising slowly down a New York (we assume) street. The car itself is big and wide – properly American and Cadillac in its proportions – and features a very handsome evolution of the latest CTS' styling, with a new take on the brand's distinctive headlight and grille design. Cadillac reveals more 2015 Escalade details, launches colorizer
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Cadillac has opened up a mini-site to entice you into its all-new 2015 Escalade, and begun talking about more of its features and trim levels. While all versions of the new daddy Caddy will be powered by a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque routed through a six-speed automatic, there will be three trim packages you can wrap around that powertrain and seven exterior colors available to make it pop.
Features common to all trims include leather throughout, heated and cooled front seats, a 12-inch reconfigurable dash cluster, a quieter interior thanks to Bose active noise cancellation and the brand's love/hate CUE infotainment system. The base trim comes with adaptive remote start, hands-free tailgate, rear-view camera, park assist, Magnetic Ride Control and sits on 20-inch wheels. Moving up to the Luxury spec increases your stature with 22-inch wheels and adds a reconfigurable, color head-up display, a sunroof, power fold-and-tumble second row seating, Intellibeam headlights and a Driver Awareness Package with active crash-avoidance technology like Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning and forward collision alert.
The top Premium trim gets a Driver Assist Package that includes Automatic Collision Preparation, automatic braking and adaptive cruise control, rear-seat entertainment, along with exterior touches like illuminated door handles.
Cadillac boss: We will have diesels
Tue, Aug 18 2015Johan de Nysschen doesn't usually mince words about his plans, and the Cadillac boss says that diesel-fueled models are on the horizon for the luxury brand in the US by the early 2020s. The four- and six-cylinder engines under development would launch first in Europe about 2019. "We will definitely bring them to the US," de Nysschen said during a press event, according to Automotive News. Unfortunately, the Cadillac president isn't saying which models would get the diesels, yet. This plan has been in the works for at least several months, and Cadillac made mention of the two oil-burners earlier this year during the unveiling of its new V6 engine. De Nysschen broached the possibility during an interview at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and he also referred to the inclusion of hybrids and plug-ins into the company's lineup at that time. Last year, a rumor suggested the addition of a V6 turbodiesel into the Escalade range. There were also rumblings of an oil-burning ATS during that model's launch. While Cadillac is no stranger to offering diesels in Europe, the decision to develop these new ones could come at an inopportune time. Governments there are rapidly moving against the fuel in favor of electrification. Tighter emissions regulations could also be on the way for the EU. Related Video:
