This is a mildly customized 2008 Cadillac CTS being sold at NO RESERVE! As you can see in the pictures, it has a very unique look with the black and machined wheels coupled with the dark tinted windows. The wheels compliment the vehicles factory chrome accents perfectly. While the wheels have about 5,000 miles on them and aren't brand new, the pictures show that they are in great shape with years of life left in them! The car was aligned just after getting the wheels put on, so there are no uneven wearing tires. We also painted the front grille black to match the vehicle. We kept the factory 18" upgraded wheels to use as winter wheels. They have brand new tires on them and they have been plasti-dipped black also. We are not planning to include them in the sale, but if the right offer is entertained we may work something out in that regard. The Cadillac Options that were added to the car were as follows: 3.6 L V6 with 300 HP 6 Speed Automatic Transmission Heated Leather Bucket Seats (front) Maneuvering HID Headlamps (turn with the car) BOSE Sound System GPS/Navigation Head Unit Dual Climate Control OnStar Equipped (not activated) Fog Lamps Sunroof I am a Co-Owner of a local custom shop in Indianapolis, IN and this is a vehicle that my wife has driven for the past year or so. Because it is a personal vehicle, there will be no sales tax added to the purchase price even if you are in the state of Indiana. This car, as every other vehicle that our company repairs/customizes, has been inspected by the local GM dealership prior to listing it for sale. This was my wife's daily driver and she never had a single problem with the car and the dealer just confirmed that. So, bid with confidence and check my feedback here and my eBay business account CircleCityConcepts and see that both are 100%. EBay has a strict policy that does not allow sellers to list websites, but please feel free to call with any questions and I can provide company specific details if you would like to check us out. The car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We purchased this car from an insurance company with damage to the transmission and driveshaft. The front bumper had scuffs on it also, so it was repainted. That was the extent of the damage and unfortunately they didn't provide us with further details as to how the damage occured. The vehicle history report was no help in that regard either. My best guess is that they ran something over (possibly on the interstate) causing the damage. The car will be inside at our shop for the duration of the auction and if you'd like to come and see it or schedule an inspection, please give me a call 317-332-5218. We do not offer a "WARRANTY" with the car since this is not being sold through the company, but we've done everything we can to ensure that it's a quality car. Having said that, please do not expect a 5 year old car to be perfect, because I don't believe there's such a thing. There are a few scratches, but you'll be impressed once you see how above average it is. Thank you for looking and happy bidding! |

First Cadillac ELR rolls off the line
Thu, 30 May 2013Gearing up for the Belle Isle Grand Prix this weekend, General Motors invited some of the Chevrolet and Cadillac racecar drivers out to its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. While there, the racers - including IndyCar Driver and Chevrolet Volt owner, Simona De Silvestro - witnessed the very first 2014 Cadillac ELR to roll off the assembly line.
These vehicles are not destined for customers, however, but instead pre-production units will be used by engineers for testing purposes. Actual production of ELR consumer models is expected to commence closer to the end of this year. As a refresher, this range-extended electric Cadillac shares much of its powertrain with the Volt but will have a sportier coupe design inspired by the Converj Concept. De Silvestro manged to snap a few images of here own, which you can see in the gallery below.
GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'
Mon, Mar 17 2014As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.
GM extending warranties on Cadillac CTS-V and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for supercharger issue
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Okay General Motors, we've sat by and watched you recall the compact cars, crossovers and pickup trucks, and aside from reporting on it, we've been fairly quiet. This, though, this will not do. We can almost tolerate the recalls on the bread-and-butter cars, but leave the performance vehicles alone.
According to a report from The Car Connection, GM has discovered a problem with the superchargers of the 6.2-liter V8s found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Cadillac CTS-V. Apparently, the issue rests around the internal bearing shaft grease, which can become contaminated (we aren't sure with what). If left unchecked, it'll first lead to a rattle at idle, which goes away under slight throttle. The real warning stage is when a high-pitched squeal develops, signaling that the bearing shaft has failed. Naturally, severe engine damage is the next step (although it's possible that the engine will also just refuse to turnover, although neither case is desirable).
According to TCC, GM will replace the superchargers on vehicles that have exhibited symptoms of bearing shaft failure free of charge. It will also, allegedly, be extending the warranty on all supercharged ZL1s and CTS-Vs to 10 years or 120,000 miles (whichever comes first), from the date of purchase. Officially, only 2009 to 2013 CTS-Vs and 2012 to 2013 ZL1s are suffering from this issue.
