1993 Cadillac Allante Hardtop Convertible 18k Mile Pearl Red Factory Chrome Rims on 2040-cars

Hello Everyone, I am selling my families 1993 Cadillac Allante Convertible. This has been in the family since 2000 purchased with 9190 Miles and now only has 18,xxx miles on it. From the best of my understanding this has always been an Allante Club Car and should be well known within the Allante Community. I have paperwork going back to 2000 but documentation before that was lost, but still have the original window sticker. Original MSRP was $63,570. All standard options with the optional Chrome Wheels and Pearlcoat Exterior Color. The hardtop pictured was dealer installed and included with the car, along with the custom cover. The car is in great condition as a car with 18k miles should be. Has always been stored indoors and currently in a heated garage with a lift. As the car only has 18k miles I will only explain the only 'flaws' as I am very particular but keep in mind it is currently a show car. The paint is great (See Pics) The Convertible Top is literally perfect and was always down. The hardtop is just as good but some of the felt trim under the rear window needs to be reglued Engine and Trunk are show ready. Right now the AC compressor needs to be replaced but I have included the fix in the price as there are two options R12 or R134 (I have Freon for both) I would let the buyer decide which unit they would prefer to have. As I am a purist I would put the R12 but whoever buys it may want R134 to save on repairs and be environmentally friendly. A new battery was installed last year too. The chrome wheels are really nice (9 of 10) but could use a polishing as there are some small imperfections when you get close. Tires are brand new as the old ones were dry rotted. The interior is about a 9 out of 10 with two minor issues one is the rear view mirror glass is delaminating and needs to be replace and the driver seat bolster is dry/cracked. The Pics Pretty much say it all. I highly recommend an inspection for anyone who decides to purchase it as I want to ensure you know what you are getting and happy with your purchase as this is SOLD AS IS This car is AMAZING and not many left like this. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. |

GM intends to offer semi-autonomous vehicles by 2020
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Prepare for a few years of technological saber-rattling, as the world's automakers begin pushing to bring self-driving cars to market. Earlier this week, Nissan announced that it aims to offer autonomous vehicles by 2020, while Google, BMW and several other marks are working on similar efforts.
General Motors is doing things differently, though. Rather than push for a fully autonomous car, it's continuing to refine its semi-autonomous Super Cruise, a product that we tested in April 2012 and that will eventually see use on some Cadillacs before trickling down to the rest of the General Motors family. Super Cruise, which is undergoing testing in the Cadillac SRX, doesn't take complete control out of the driver's hands. Rather, under a very specific set of circumstances on the freeway, it will marry the capabilities of things like lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control to allow the driver to take their hands off the wheel. All of which sounds a lot like the system Mercedes-Benz is launching on the 2014 S-Class.
The system is still in development, according to John Capp, GM's director of electrical controls and active safety technology. Now that that the biggest hurdle, steering control, has been cleared, GM's engineers can focus on things like teaching the system to adapt to differing road conditions and visibility levels. As we reported in 2012, Super Cruise is still befuddled in low-visibility situations or when road markings aren't particularly clear.
Cadillac's Blackwing V8 was the best engine at the worst time
Sat, Jun 20 2020It should be clear that GM knows how to innovate and engineer excellent products when it wants to. Cadillac's 4.2-liter twin-turbo Blackwing V8 is recent proof of that. Yet, as related in an extensive Road & Track piece, the Blackwing became victim to some of The General's bugbears, like the reticence to — for whatever reasons — unleash its excellence everywhere, fund that excellence, and be consistent with that excellence over the long term beyond the Corvette and full-sized pickups and SUVs. The R/T story relates tales told by "several people deeply involved with the Blackwing project" about how an engine 18 years in the making was deprived of its reasons for being in less than three. Starting around 2000, GM spent a dozen years building Cadillac up to the point where the American luxury brand could rationally flip to the chapter called, "Taking the Fight to the Germans, but for Real this Time." The first steps in the plan meant an exclusive platform and an exclusive engine. The platform was called Omega. You know the engine's name. They were going to be the aluminum-blocked fist and velvet glove enabling Cadillac to break on through to the other side of luxury — proper luxury to global standards, that is — with a range of beautiful and dynamic crossovers and sedans. An engineer involved in the project estimates GM poured $16 million into the Blackwing's clean-sheet development. Many more seven-figure sums went into creating the first sedan on the Omega platform, the CT6. The automaker dropped millions again poaching ex-Audi and Infiniti chief Johan de Nysschen, and moving Cadillac's headquarters to New York City in 2014. Further pallets of cash funded the development and debut of the Escala concept at Pebble Beach in 2016. In 2018, GM revealed its dramatically named DOHC twin-turbo V8. Considering what came before, the Blackwing clearly wasn't designed for cars. It was designed for world domination. However, against the backdrop of plummeting sedan sales, the CT6 didn't sell like GM had hoped. The automaker hesitated to marshal another fleet of Brinks trucks to fund entries into a cratering bodystyle. Removing sedans from the world domination equation created more difficult math for the crossovers and the Escala.
Cadillac ATS-V Coupe caught undisguised ahead of LA reveal
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Vsport versions of the CTS and XTS sedans are all well and good, but what Cadillac enthusiasts have really been looking forward to is the arrival of the next full-on V model. And here we have it.
Spied in the nude during an apparent photo shoot ahead of its anticipated debut at the fast-approaching Los Angeles Auto Show, the upcoming new Cadillac ATS-V Coupe is set to pick up where the old CTS-V left off, only in a more compact form. Unlike previous spy shots of heavily disguised prototypes, this final version is showing a chrome-framed mesh grille, along with a deep lower air dam with what looks to be a carbon-fiber front splitter. That bulging hood with heat extractor vents is tipped to be packing a twin-turbo V6 engine, breathing out of quad exhaust tips.
The aggressive aero kit also encompasses side skirts, a reshaped rear bumper and a lip spoiler on the truck, while the upgraded rolling stock wears serious low-profile rubber and the brakes appear to be carbon-ceramic units. Peer through the window and you can even see the sport bucket seats with slots for racing harnesses. All of which suggests a serious American challenger to the BMW M4 and its ilk, and we're looking forward to seeing the vehicle in the metal in LA next month.
