1992 Cadillac Allante-low Miles-triple Black on 2040-cars
Waterloo, Iowa, United States
I bought this car last fall from an elderly owner that had owned the car for several years. The car had been sitting quite a while without running, so I took it to my mechanic and told him to go thru it. He performed a full tune-up, changed the fuel filter, put fresh fuel into the tank, and replaced the battery. He was still not completely satisfied with how it ran, so he replaced all 8 of the fuel injectors with an upgraded GM Delphi brand injector. With that done he noticed an oil drip on the floor of his shop, and replaced the pan gasket. When I finally got the car back, it ran and drove great. Next I contacted my detail expert and had him detail the paint and interior-wow...shiny paint...clean and fresh interior. By the time all was finished with the car the weather had changed and it was time to store it for the winter.....By appearances it had not been winter driven.........then came the change of plan from my girlfriend......It seems she now thinks that we should have a convert with a back seat for grand children hauling...she is probably right. I have a lot invested in this car, but am now ready to sell and move on. I think the triple black color scheme is kind of unique, and possibly rare-my pictures were in bright sun and really don't do the car justice...not to mention that here in Iowa we a lot of snow in the background to reflect the sun even more....I would be happy to show the car with due notice-or answer questions as best I can....summer is coming......get your offer in on this beautiful low mile classic! |

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
2014 Cadillac CTS
Tue, 24 Sep 2013Fixated By Europeans, GM Ensures The Third Time Is A Charm
Few things are better for consumers than competition raising the bar. And no campaign seems fiercer than the one currently underway in the midsize sport-sedan segment now that Cadillac has introduced its all-new 2014 CTS to go head-to-head against the benchmark Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
While the CTS has been on the market for slightly more than a decade, up until this third-generation, Cadillac hasn't truly had the proper high-performance rear-wheel-drive architecture to build a genuine world-class fighter, both inside and out. And now that the American automaker has successfully mirrored Audi, BMW and Mercedes in overall vehicle size, engine output and cabin appointments, the first shots have been fired.
2015 Cadillac Escalade
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Cadillac has been an interesting story in the auto industry over the past several years. Its comeback bid may be well over a decade old, but it's only recently that the Wreath and Crest has transformed from the auto industry's retirement home into its hot new thing. Today's Cadillac is a powerful marque working to instill passionate design, sound driving dynamics and cutting-edge technology into each model it builds, with vehicles like the ATS and redesigned CTS leading the charge.
Now, its latest model has arrived. This fourth-generation Escalade is among the most important new Cadillacs since the division's renaissance kicked into high gear. It's the brand's de facto flagship, and the first vehicle many young people think of when hearing the name "Cadillac." In the past, the Escalade was the chosen vehicle of the rich, flashy and famous. It's suffered over the past few years, though, particularly as new and more luxurious competitors have come to the fore.
With this latest redesign, General Motors is aiming to retake the spotlight as purveyors of the market's premier luxury SUV. To find out if it's been successful, I ventured down to the South Carolina Lowcountry to test the all-new 2015 Escalade.
