Vin # 312508976

Motor- 340 V8 5.6L 2 Barrel (from a 67 Skylark Coupe, Rebuilt about 3 years ago as told by previous owner)

Trans- 2 speed powerglide trans (pulled and rebuilt along with motor, again no documentation to prove but was passed on by previous owner). Switched from Column to floor

Mileage- shows a shade over 40,000, but being a 5 digit dash im sure it has rolled over so for argument sake since I have no documentation on mileage we will say 140k. mind you that's original body mileage, a lot less on motor and trans.

New parts- Just replaced.... Water Pump, Water Pump Gasket, Fan Clutch (non-thermal), Battery, Electric Fuel Pump and upper rad hose. (All done hours before this listing, not days. you will even notice in the pictures the drain off from taking the old pump out. Picture of engine bay was taken right after the water pump was taken out but before new rad hose, drive belt and wiring were done. )

 * * Also, while replacing these parts I noticed that the previous owner did a hell of a backwoods job wiring up some of the engine components. I went through and rewired everything that posed a potential electrical hazard with more proper crimping and harnessing techniques. Also tuned and cleaned the Carburetor.  Long story short no more open connections and wires run across the block.

Problem areas- Im a firm believer in being as honest as possible when it comes to making a new owner aware of any issues I have spotted, being that I got my arm twisted on this car when I got it id like to assure the new owner that I am doing my best to make them aware of the work needing done. This is not a Barret Jackson vehicle. This is a cool old car with some blemishes that give it character and areas that can be fixed as you drive. With any car over 50 years old, it has some rust. I did the best to get pictures of all the areas I am aware of so that you can decided what you do with it. That being said here we go!

* Trunk pan needs to be patched with sheet metal near the lower latch housing as well as both sides where the inner wheel wells meet the pan. some 16 gauge and a flux core welder would do the job nicely. (See pics) also note at the top of the large pic of the trunk area the previous owner sprayed about an 8th of an inch of rust preventer all over the trunk, little did he know it only makes matters worse when you don't clean the old rust off first. After chipping and peeling off the black mess he made I found the problem areas listed. The rest of the trunk looks good.

* There is some bubbling going on in the usual spots where rust is starting to take over (also in pics) There areas are the driver door corner, quarters and fenders near door jams. Also bottom of the top. Mostly surface rust but just enough to see when your on top of it. Its still amazingly solid for the year. 10 footer.

* Factory Radio was removed and I never bothered to get a new one.

* Paint is driver quality. Shines from 10 feet but once on top its dull and has high/low areas. some small spots in door jams where original paint is starting to show through (aqua blue color)

* Passenger rear interior panel has a small tear which has been covered to prevent from widening.

* Floors are solid, appear to have been patched and/or repaired at one point. Very solid

Like I said, I am being as honest as possible about this car, no one deserves any surprises when it comes to a fun car do own. I encourage anyone interested to come take a look at the car before buying or bidding. Im pretty knowledgeable about cars in general but someone always knows more.

THE GOODS:  The car itself as a whole is pretty sweet. You don't see to many on the road at all and I get thumbs up when people see it. I always end up doing more talking then driving when I spin it around the block. It runs good and shifts as it should. For the money, you cant go wrong. Drive it as is, restore it, chop it, slam it any way you do it it will always turn heads. I really wanted to rat it out but its just to nice a platform for that. Hopefully a Buick nut will fall in love with it. Currently Garaged just waiting for a new owner. Also have Maryland 1962 Antique tags for it.

* Interior was redone when motor was put in. Its actually really really nice! (see pics) front bench has a spot or two of fading but its got a newer carpet and the backseat doesn't look to be sat in. New cushioning and even a nice headliner. Dash has a small crack but its all there! The horn even works!

* Lights work High Beams work wipers work windows are all present and work great. Speedo works on and off but im looking into it now. Fuel gauge appears to be working properly. This car from what I can tell was equipped with A/C and the blower motor seems to turn on but obviously it doesn't work.

* Brakes are a little sticky at first but the car stops as it should and rolls right down the road. Its also antique so no inspection required. Its got good rubber and the wheels/hub cabs shine nicely.

* BEST PART IS ITS A 340 V8. Little more muscle under the hood never hurt anyone.

Ive listed just about everything that I can think of but like I said come take a look and we can talk about whatever you'd like. Im pretty reasonable and open to offers on it so just let me know. Also for sale locally so it can go at anytime but don't hesitate to throw in a bid on it, its sure to please whoever takes her in.

2020 Buick Encore GX is a really attractive middle child

Tue, Nov 19 2019

The 2020 Buick Encore GX is officially a thing in North America. The compact crossover slips into the space between the slightly smaller Encore and the larger Envision, adding extra room behind the rear seats to pack in a lot more than the Encore, and only a little less than in Envision. Beyond the additional room, every trim of the Encore GX comes with safety tech that — for the moment, at least — can only be had as an optional extra on the standard Encore, if it's available at all on the smaller model. The six included features are automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, IntelliBeam headlamps with automatically-adjusting high/low beams, and lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning. IntelliBeam, for instance, isn't available on the Encore, and doesn't come standard on the Envision until maxing out at the AWD Premium II trim. What's more, the new bigger Encore brother puts a list of substantial safety features on the options sheet, such as Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, a heads-up display, camera-based adaptive cruise control, high-definition Surround Vision camera system, rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, and a hands-free power liftgate with logo projection. Convenience touches in the cabin are found in wireless charging, Bluetooth pairing for two phones simultaneously, and Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Sirius XM with 360L compatibility. The 360L version of Sirius XM combines satellite services with streaming to provide more channels and access to live and on-demand shows. Buyers can luxe it up inside with optional perks like leather-appointed seats, a heated steering wheel, and an ionizing air filter. Buick says the Encore GX swallows 25.3 cubic feet of goods behind the second row. According to the dimension stats on the Buick site, that's 6.5 cubic feet more than the load space in an Encore and a measly 1.6 cubic feet less than the available volume in an Envision. The carmaker wants buyers to get the most flexibility out of the Encore GX area as well, serving up an adjustable load floor in every trim that can be raised to lie level with the folded rear seats and provide extra under-floor storage.

Buick Envision crossover to premiere in China

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Buick currently offers two crossovers: the compact Encore and the extra-large Enclave, leaving plenty of room to slot a mid-size crossover in between. And that's just what Buick is planning on doing. In China, anyway.
Previewed in the teaser above, Buick's upcoming new crossover is cloaked and nestled in between its aforementioned stablemates-to-be. Set to be unveiled in China sometime later this year, the model has been confirmed to wear the name Envision - at least in that market. That's the name which the concept version wore three years ago, but we're still waiting on word over whether that name will carry over to the US version or whether we should expect something different like Anthem. But we have to admit that Envision fits better in the brand's crossover naming scheme.
Shanghai GM isn't saying much about the Envision in the press release below, aside from it having "dynamic and assertive styling" backed by all-wheel drive and stop/start ignition. The last time Buick offered a mid-size crossover in North America was with the Pontiac Aztek-based Rendezvous that was discontinued seven years ago.

2013 Opel Cascada

The Future Buick Verano Convertible?
I wasn't wearing a pedometer while in Germany covering the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, but it's safe to say I walked more than a few miles between press conferences, shooting cars and trekking back to the media center on the first day alone. For this reason, it didn't take much convincing from General Motors for me to duck out of the Messe a day early and drive some of its latest Opel models. No, this didn't include the all-new Country Tourer, but I was able to drive the Opel Mokka (our Buick Encore), the Opel Adam and the Opel Cascada.
I focused most of my driving time behind the wheel of the Cascada, which went on sale in Europe earlier this year, since rumors are swirling that a Buick version of this convertible "could happen soon." Buick hasn't had a convertible since the Reatta, and GM has been lacking a non-performance, budget-minded convertible since the Pontiac brand - and its G6 - was dropped, so adding the Cascada to Buick showrooms could further help the reemerging brand compete in the near-luxury segment. Although the weather was too chilly (and occasionally rainy) to enjoy the Cascada with its top down for very long, I was able to clock a fair bit of drive time behind the wheel on roads ranging from the autobahn to tight roads in small, quaint villages.
