You are looking at a 78 Buick Skylark with 63 thousand original miles.
I bought this car with 44K on it, and daily drove it for about two years.
It runs very well, it has a ton of new parts.
Just the new tires, Buick mags and center caps are worth $500 bucks.
The worst flaws in the car are the one rear quarter is coming out (rusting) as usual, and rust around the landau trim mounting.
I have the factory stamped lower patch panel to fix this.
The car has some minor issues (its 35 years old) but nothing that keeps you from getting to work!
The inspection ran out last october- the ONLY reason it is not inspected is that I was saving it for my son, but plans have changed. I'd like to sell this car to finance another project.
If the car doesn't sell, I will put it back in the garage for later.
I wasn't going to pay registration and inspection for it to sit. The car has been started every couple weeks since it was parked and driven around. It purrs at idle. Except for the rusty quarter, it will pass inspection easily. AC works, but could use a new fan- blower is noisy and not at full force. New belts, hoses, brakes, seals, ignition, carb/choke rebuild, vac hoses, and probably a lot of stuff I forget to keep it running nicely.
As you can see, the trunk is not rusted through, but there is surface rust. The interior is decent- the headliner is floppy and has a tear. The carpet is delaminating under the foot area. The Landau top is aging like most of them. Obviously not a show car, but a nice low mileage driver.
Comes with some extra parts including a new rear filler panel and factory GM manual.
The last picture is a shot just showing how these cars can be styled.
Thanks for looking- if you call, please leave a message.

GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though. Watch this phantom Buick drive itself down the highway in a snow storm
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Years ago, General Motors used Buick cars to test out the idea of a "smart highway" concept. More recently, GM has been talking up its award-winning Super Cruise semi-autonomous technology that will roll out with Cadillac and make its way to Buick. The LeSabre in the video above has nothing to do with any of that.
On Interstate 15 in Utah, a man driving this LeSabre got into an accident that rearranged the front end and set the horn on permanent blare. At the time of writing this, no one is sure what happened next, but the man ended up sitting in the snow in the highway median while his car carried on down the highway without him. Passing traffic stayed well to the right.
The 51-second video below provides a different take on our autonomous future. A local newscast on KUTV covered the story the evening of the incident, but the Utah Highway Patrol didn't have any update on the fate of the LeSabre. We'll take that to mean that Buick's take on Christine could still be out on the prowl... so watch out!
Buick shows off new Ultra Luxury Interior for LaCrosse
Sun, 27 Apr 2014The options sheet of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse gets all kinds of fancy with the addition of the Ultra Luxury Interior. Pointing its Tri-Shield logo at the world of haute luxury, the cabin treatment combines sangria leather with ebony accents, shadow tamo ash wood trim and a microsuede headliner to "drive fashion forward."
You'll need to start with LaCrosse models with the 3.6-liter V6 and either the Leather, Premium or Premium II trims to go all Brioni and Buckingham on the cabin, and the privilege package will run you $2,495. We're told that you won't find such contrasting hues anywhere else in the class, though, and that kind of exclusivity might make any price a bargain.
You can find more information on the Ultra Luxury Interior in the press release below, along with some intensely fashion-foward gobbledygook.
