1971 Buick Gs 350 Convertible on 2040-cars
Bakersfield, California, United States
This three owner GS is in mint shape both cosmetically, and mechanically! It has spent most of it's life in Florida, but is now enjoying the sun in California. It has been painted metallic green only once, and the interior is like new and all original. I have the original build sheet, showing that this GS was ordered with every available option except F-41 suspension! The mechanicals all work as new, and the engine really purrs. I have installed an electronic ignition and modern radio with Bluetooth. The A/C blows ice cold, and really seems like a modern car, since it is equipped with power front disc brakes, power locks, seat, windows, cruise control and deluxe seat belts. I had a Viper alarm system installed which controls the door locks and auto trunk feature. This GS also had the sport steering wheel with tilt feature, rally gauge cluster, lighted day night mirror, trunk and glove box with the courtesy lighting package. It has a posi traction rear end, chrome Buick rally wheels, and the ultra rare thru the rear bumper exhaust option. This car only needs a driver who wants a trouble free classic muscle car, equipped with many modern day convenience options. You absolutely will not be disappointed! Call Joe at 661-330-3277 with any and all questions. A $1,000 deposit is due after successful bidding, and the balance due either by cash, certified wired funds, or Pay Pal! Good luck bidding This GS is also equipped with ram air induction, full length console, hood tach, eight track player and Buick tissue box!

Malaise Era Junkyard Gem: 1979 Buick Electra Limited
Wed, Jun 22 2016In the fall of 1973, the Arab members of OPEC shut off the oil taps, and Detroit got busy making many of their full-sized land yachts a lot smaller. By model year 1977, the downsized fifth-generation Buick Electra was ready to go ... just in time for the 1979 Iranian Revolution to squeeze the supply of the black stuff even further. You won't see many of the 1977-85 Electras these days, but I spotted this faded but solid '79 Limited sedan in a Denver self-service yard last week. General Motors must have bought up the entire world's supply of blue velour around this time, because you'll see this stuff in just about every car they made for the following decade or so. By this time, GM was doing a lot of mixing-and-matching with engines from its various divisions, which meant you could buy an Oldsmobile 88 with a Chevrolet 350 V8 engine, a Chevrolet Monza with a Buick 231 V6 engine, or— as in this case— a Buick Electra with an Oldsmobile 350 V8 engine. Do you want to know how many horses this engine delivered to this 3,631-pound car? 155 horsepower out of 5.7 liters of engine displacement. Times were tough during the Malaise Era. Jay Leno recaps Pebble Beach
Wed, Sep 30 2015Each year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the picturesque, ocean-side setting of the golf course becomes a parking lot for a vast array of multi-million dollar vehicles. However, if you missed the posh event this year, then Jay Leno has you covered yet again. For a nearly hour-long installment of Jay Leno's Garage, the comedian has dumped his denim in favor of a suit to take viewers on an insider tour of the lavish gathering. He interviewed some of the most talented designers in the auto industry, too. Leno starts off checking out a few beautiful classics by the shore, but things really get interesting for his stroll down the Concept Car Lawn for a scoop on the vehicles of tomorrow. Ed Welburn tells Leno all about the Buick Avenir, and Shiro Nakamura offers a tour of the Infiniti Q60. Plus, there are detailed looks at the Lincoln Continental, Hyundai Vision G Coupe, and Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6. 2015 Buick Verano gets styling tweak, loses 6-speed manual
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Well, all good things must come to an end. For 2015, the Buick Verano's experiment with a manual transmission will cease, as the American manufacturer has announced it will discontinue the 6MT in the turbocharged version of its compact sedan. According to Buick, the take rate on the Verano Turbo 6MT was (unsurprisingly) low, leading to its discontinuation.
That's not the only bit of news for the Verano, though. After a few years on the market, Buick has seen fit to refresh the popular sedan. The visual changes aren't huge, really, with subtle tweaks to the headlights and taillights. We'd bargain that the average passer-by wouldn't notice a difference between the two.
The main aesthetic change is a new appearance package, available on the mid-range Convenience and Leather option groups. Unimaginatively called just that - Appearance Package - it offers up a new paint color, Desert Dusk Metallic, as well as a grille treatment and a rear spoiler. The new package is, however, limited to naturally aspirated models.
