NO RESERVE! 1970 Buick GS 350. From the factory it came painted burnished saddle with saddle interior and a black vinyl top. 350 cu. In. engine rated at 315 hp and turbo 350 transmission, power steering, A/C, power drum brakes, bucket seats , console and 14 inch Buick ralley wheels. The car did not come with posi, in dash tach or a sport steering wheel from the factory. At some point in the past front disc brakes, cruise control and a HEI distributor have been added . I did put a new battery in the car.
This car was a back yard find and has been sitting for several years. It is a good parts car or a restoration project. It has the normal rust issues for a car sitting so long. Trunk floor, trunk lip, lower rear quarters, battery tray area and firewall have rust. Surprisingly the corners of the rear window has very little rust. The floor pan may have some rust issues as well. The engine does run, but the car does not drive, it has a bad transmission and the condition of the gas tank is in question . The tires will need replaced and the brakes are also in question. An additional turbo 350 transmission as well as a radiator core support and rear bumper go with the car. The car is original and complete with all the trim as well as the 6 pieces for the hood scoops and the four center caps. All the glass is good. The GS hood is in really good condition. The original grille has some cracks. All emblems are present. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. |

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
Jay Leno finds no detail neglected on Icon's Derelict 1948 Buick Super
Wed, Apr 1 2015Jonathan Ward seems to have one of the greatest jobs in the world. As the CEO at Icon, he's in charge of not only the company's fantastic trucks but its Derelict series of semi-restored classics, as well. Ward's vehicles are no strangers to Jay Leno's Garage, but the latest guest on the show might be one of Icon's coolest yet. What looks like a 1948 Buick Super Convertible on the outside hides the supercharged heart of a Corvette ZR1 underneath. Like the rest of the Derelict series, this old Buick's toasted paint and pitted chrome are all part of the charm of the car, and it's really a case of beauty being more than skin deep. The Super rides on a custom chassis and suspension to make the convertible a far better driver than even a pristine original example. Plus, Ward hides all sorts of modern upgrades inside that are practically invisible until he points them out. Leno absolutely falls in love with driving the Derelict Buick. If his enthusiasm grabs you, the video below from Ward goes much deeper into the build process of this awesome project.
