 * SUPER DEPENDABLE DRIVER *
Authentic classic muscle !! at a reasonable price!!
This car runs so well, I would trust it on a cross-country trip. I have driven it to Pigeon Forge and Myrtle Beach to enter it in car show and it drove flawlessly.
Most of the restoration was done by the prior owner, and I have done some mechanical updates.
It is not a trailer queen, this muscle car was meant to run down the road and it does that quite well.
It has the original Buick 350 V8 engine and TH350 automatic transmission. The original 4bbl carburetor has been replaced with a new 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor.
True mileage is unknown, but the odometer reads about 38,500 miles.
Parts added in the last few years include American Racing Torque Trust rims, B.F.Goodrich radials, complete new exhaust, aluminum radiator and all hoses, chrome flex fan, chrome overflow tank, brake booster, brake master cylinder, stainless steel brake lines, stainless steel transmission cooler lines, Forged Aluminum Transmission Pan, forged aluminum "GS" differential cover, front and rear shocks, gas tank, fuel gauge sending unit, "resto" AM/FM stereo, front and rear speakers, hidden radio antenna, seat belts, chrome fire extinguisher, removable anti-theft steering wheel, Buick valve covers, Edelbrock air cleaner, plus other stuff I've forgotten.
The prior owner painted the car and added a new vinyl roof, new carpeting, new headliner, re-chromed bumpers, new heater core, plus replaced other maintenance and trim items. The transmission has always worked flawlessly and was serviced last year to cure a few leaks.
There are some blemishes in the paint, but nothing too serious.
The prior owner installed after-market vinyl covered bucket seats and had the rear bench seat covered in a matching "resto-mod" color scheme---black and orange.
If you are interested, please email your phone number to me and I will call you to discuss what's great with this car, and what could use some attention.
Remember, it is 45 years old. It uses some oil, just like most of these cars do.
I have won trophies in all local car shows I have entered.
I have more images if you are interested.
Thank you for considering this classic muscle car.
Reasonable cash offers considered after you have checked out this AMERICAN MUSCLE ! Clear Virginia title in my name. No liens.

Buick picks top 11 highlights from first 11 decades

Sun, 21 Apr 2013

Buick has taken the time to highlight some of the company's personal points of pride from the past 110 years. Those include everything from the automaker's very first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, to what Buick claims is the world's first concept car: The 1938 Y Job (above). That one also walked away with the worst name for a design study.
All told, the automaker has sold 43 million vehicles through the end of last year, and those include the lusty 1963 Riviera. That model celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013, and remains one of the brand's most iconic designs.
Of course, Buick is rightfully proud of its quickest model, too. The 1987 GNX managed a 4.6-second bolt to 60 mph in tests by Car and Driver, and it also took the honor of being one of the automaker's rarest creations at just 547 units. You can check out all 10 in the gallery above.

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.

Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates

Mon, 26 Nov 2012

Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.
