Buick Skylark was the top of the line model, a factory sport V8 car with AT,
full power steering & power brakes. This car has been fully redone &
upgraded running gear with a 1969 Chevrolet (Camaro/Chevelle SS/Corvette) L-48 High Performance style built 350 V8 coupled
to the noted Turbo 350 3-speed Automatic transmission: This vintage 350 Chevy V8
was noted for durability and high performance with a 4-bolt main & factory
10.25:1 compression. It was factory under-rated at 300 horse & 380 ft-lbs
of torque. The 350 V8 was built with modern performance additions
such as the aluminum Edelbrock Performer EPS Intake & Edelbrock 4V carb, full
Accell HP electronic ignition system & Accell high energy spark wires, low
drag lightweight cooling fan & aluminum racing radiator. The engine is
equipped with custom headers and a free flow dual exhaust… giving horsepower estimates now well over 360++
horse. This 350 V8 is equipped with tall
polished aluminum valve covers and an aluminum air filter. Under the hood you
will see newer alternator & wide belts, new hoses, battery & more. The resto-mod also includes a removable face CD
player in the dash, hidden behind a factory radio delete panel. A few of the photos
the panel was removed to show the CD radio & speaker system. This is an
estate sale and I am helping the widow move this striking vintage muscle car on
to a lucky new owner. As such, I do not have full history, but being a classic
car collector I can honestly say someone is going to get one heck of a classic muscle
car in impressive condition & running strong… a true head turner that you
can hear coming your way. SHOW
& GO!!
The car runs strong and
drives well! It sounds awesome! It has a free flow exhaust and coupled with the
headers sounds impressive…. as good as it looks! I broke the rear wheels loose
and burned rubber on my first test run without actually trying. An investment quality vehicle
you can have fun with… for weekend fun or show! TERMS OF SALE: Any vintage
car sold as-is without any owner or dealer warranty. Please ask questions prior
to bidding. Deposit due at end of auction and balance
within 5 days please. This is a 50+ year old vintage vehicle with a Clear Title
in hand. Buyer is responsible for all transport costs and storage costs if vehicle
held over 10 days; unless prior arrangement approved by seller. Please do not
bid if you cannot pay. Thank you & Good

Looking back at how and why GM saved Buick
Mon, Dec 19 2016Still uncomfortably fresh in our collective minds is 2008, the year when the US economy tanked, auto sales collapsed, and both General Motors and Chrysler endured federally managed bankruptcies. Then 2009, when, among other draconian measures, the government task forces dictating what they were compelled to do to earn taxpayer financial support ordered thousands of dealers cut and GM to discontinue four of its eight US brands. Three of those chosen for GM's axe were fairly obvious: off-road icon Hummer had become politically incorrect, Swedish-born Saab was a perennial money loser, and product-starved Saturn had sadly sagged after its strong early start. On the other hand, high-volume value brand Chevrolet, luxury Cadillac, and high-profit GMC seemed clear keepers. That left Pontiac and Buick, both boasting strong brand heritage and histories but both languishing at the time with lackluster image and sales. Most believed that "old man's car" Buick would be killed and once-youthful Pontiac and its performance image would be revived. So few understood why when exactly the opposite happened: Buick lived, Pontiac died. One key factor was Buick's long, distinguished history in China. In the early 20th century, many of that country's most influential citizens owned, drove, or were driven in Buicks. By 1930, one out of every six cars on the roads in Shanghai was a Buick. So when GM launched vehicle production at a Shanghai joint-venture plant in 1999, the chosen brand was Buick. Today it remains GM's best-selling brand in that fast-growing market. Another was an appealing new design direction that began with a shapely 2006 three-row crossover concept called Enclave. Inspired by the Buick Velite concept convertible of 2004, its curvaceous "form vocabulary," GM Design vice president Ed Welburn said at the time, previewed coming Buick production car and CUV design. "The body shape flows, like there's wind blowing over it," he enthused, adding that the Enclave concept's richly trimmed cabin foretold "a renaissance in interior design for GM." And when the production Enclave arrived for 2008, followed by platform siblings from Saturn and GMC (and later Chevrolet), it indeed caught the public's eye and started selling well. And once past GM's painful and embarrassing bankruptcy, Buick has been on a major roll. Continuing to sell strongly in China while growing substantially in the US, it has enjoyed four straight years of global sales records.
Next-gen LaCrosse, Cascada convertible coming to Buick showrooms in 2016
Wed, 23 Jul 2014It's difficult to overstate how significant the post-bankruptcy years have been for General Motors' Buick brand. Arguably the most improved American automaker, Buick has rounded out its range with an excellent compact in the Verano, a well-balanced midsizer in the Regal and a segment-busting mini-CUV, with the Encore.
Seeking to keep that momentum going, the next several years will see the brand address a trio of its most obvious issues. First and foremost will be a replacement for the aging LaCrosse, a vehicle whose only bit of attention since its 2009 debut was a very light refresh in 2013.
According to Automotive News, we should expect the next-generation LaCrosse to arrive late next year or early in 2016, as a 2016 model. AN expects big design changes, as Buick attempts to further the LaCrosse from its popular platform-mate, the Chevrolet Impala. The changes won't be so radical, though, as to do away with its front-drive architecture, as the latest version of the Epsilon platform will underpin the next LaCrosse. The 3.6-liter V6 is likely to carry on, although a smaller, budget-minded offering is also extremely likely (we'll eat our hat if it's not the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the Regal, Verano and Cadillac CTS et al.).
Buick: Odell Beckham Jr.
Mon, Feb 8 2016An Opel droptop in Buick drag crashes a wedding. No one's quite sure who made the Cascada, but Emily Ratajkowski definitely got the bouquet. She channels Odell Beckham Jr., laying out to make the catch – and conveniently Beckham is actually there to jokingly shoot her down. Did Buick nail this one, or was it (as Beckham quips) "out of bounds?" Let us know.
