1957 Buick Roadmaster Base Hardtop 4-door 6.0l on 2040-cars

I purchased this car to make it a nice daily driver. It is a fully loaded car with power brakes, power steering, power windows, power antenna, power seat and factory air. I worked on it for two years and an illness in the family forced me to stop. I started working on it again in 2013 and now it is 95 percent finished with just a few minor fixes. I can no longer work on this car because of my age and health, mostly age. About the car. I rebuilt the engine and had the transmission rebuilt by a transmission shop. All of the rest of the work was done by myself. New brakes, including wheel cylinders and hoses, new dual exhaust system, new shocks, new power antenna, all new flat glass and windshield, all new weather stripping, Gas tank was removed ,cleaned, and sealed and a new sending unit installed , all new hoses, including water, vacuum, and fuel, 90 percent of the chrome has been re chromed and a new headliner installed. I removed everything from this car, including the doors and dash so I could treat all un painted surfaces with a rust restorer. When I purchased this car it had been sitting for some time and every surface was covered by a fine coating of rust. So I treated every area I could reach and sprayed every area I couldn't reach. There were only two bad spots on this car, one a quarter size hole in the rear door frame dogleg, which I welded and the spare wheel well was completely rusted out. I removed the wheel well, made a new one from fiber glass, installed it and glassed the entire trunk floor. I did a very good job. I painted this car myself and although it is not a six thousand dollar paint job, it is pretty and all it needs is maybe fine sanding and buffing to make it perfect. This was not a frame off restoration by a professional but I think you will be satisfied with this car. Those were the pros, now the cons, The carburetor need to be rebuilt, the generator does not show charge(new regulator) the gas gauge does not work and the AC pump is not installed. The AC evaporator is missing but I have all of the other parts to install the factory air. This car has never been on the road since I did the work. The engine has about three hours run time on it. The tires look new, but are about fifteen tears old and should be replaced. I have tried to list the good and the bad. I am not sorry about selling this car, After five years, I am sick of working on it. I will be happy to answer any questions. A $1000 non refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction and the balance due in cash within seven days of the close of auction. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping, I can not help. Thank You |

Buick luxury sedan design sketch would make a great flagship
Tue, Nov 29 2022Over the Thanksgiving holiday General Motors posted a sketch of a futuristic Buick sedan to social media. In fact, the sleek wedge is just the latest in a series of illustrations that seem to point the way to a luxury EV coming in 2024 (for model year 2025). That's when Buick has promised its first fully-electric vehicle, with the promise that the entire lineup will be gasoline free.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) The sketch shows a low, long sedan that seems to be inspired (or perhaps served as the inspiration for) the Buick Wildcat concept revealed in June. However, there are significant differences as well. The sketch shows a profile that's more cab backward than the Wildcat's, with a gently sloping roofline that's more Audi A7 than the physical car's aggressive Nissan GT-R-like top. The front end is less busy than the Wildcat's as well, with the chrome better integrated into the fascia and headlights. Similar brightwork appears on the rocker panels and on the fenders behind the wheel arches, cues the Wildcat concept lacks. Buick's updated logo sits at the end of a sporty BMW-esque trough on the hood. Of course, the exaggerated wheels have such little clearance they wouldn't really be able move or turn, much less survive a pothole, but we can forgive that artistic liberty. Other recent sketches shown on the GM Design account on Instagram show a more refined version of the same sedan, but without the Wildcat's Honda CR-V-esque taillights. Another super-luxurious coupe with hints of Syd Mead looks just as beautiful but is unbranded and may work better as a Cadillac. The Buick brand feels a bit redundant these days, but stunning designs like these could help differentiate the brand. The General has plenty of trucks and SUVs already. If it's going to foist crossover after crossover at us, maybe the Buick division could stand out as the sedan-and-coupe-only brand. Related video:
2019 Buick Envision starts just under $33,000
Mon, Feb 26 2018Buick has announced that prices for its new 2019 Envision will start at $33,985 (including destination), positioning the refreshed compact SUV right between its best-selling Encore entry-level crossover and more upmarket Enclave and taking aim at competitors including the Lincoln MKC and Acura RDX. The Envision will be offered in five trim levels — Envision, Preferred, Essence, Premium and Premium II, which starts at $45,590 — when the crossover goes on sale this spring. Prices exclude tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. We told you recently about the optional new nine-speed Hydra-Matic 9T50 automatic transmission and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder on the top two trim levels. The upgraded engine offers 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The standard setup remains the 197-hp 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine making 147 lb-ft of torque and mated to a six-speed automatic, offered in front- or all-wheel drive. The crossover gets a new winged Buick emblem on the grille, new headlamps and newly sculpted front and rear facias, plus optional 19-inch wheels. It also gets a Buick-first tire-fill alert that signals when a tire has reached the recommended pressure level. Standard technology features include an in-vehicle air ionizer to eliminate odors, a switch to turn off its fuel-saving engine stop feature, rear-park assist, an 8-inch diagonal infotainment system and 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. By dropping the starting MSRP by nearly $1,000, GM says the Envision is now better positioned against its top-selling Encore (starting MSRP $22,990), for which nearly 60 percent of buyers come from outside the automaker's stable of brands. PSA's purchase of Opel from GM is expected to be finalized soon
Sat, Mar 4 2017PSA's purchase of the Opel/Vauxhall division from General Motors is expected to be officially announced on Monday, according to The New York Times. PSA, the parent company of European automakers Peugeot and Citroen, will reportedly hold a joint press conference with GM in Paris to announce the deal. GM has worked as part of an alliance with PSA in Europe since 2012. The deal could be a big boon for both companies. For PSA, the addition of Opel and Vauxhall into its fold would catapult the automaker into second place behind Volkswagen for European marketshare, and would allow the company to spend research and development costs across a greater number of vehicles. And GM, which has struggled in recent years to turn a profit with its European division, would be able to focus more squarely on the areas where it's most profitable and to invest in future technologies like automation. But the deal isn't without its potential pitfalls, primarily for PSA. GM hasn't been able to make a success of Opel and Vauxhall, and it's not a sure bet that PSA will, either. What's more, the addition of Opel and Vauxhall doesn't expand PSA's reach any further into new markets, like China or India. The NYT cites data from Ferdinand Dudenhoffer, a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, showing that 70 percent of PSA and Opel business is done in Europe, a market that has been shrinking since 1999. We'll have to wait a few days to see exactly how the deal between PSA and GM will be structured. We're also curious to see how the loss of Opel may affect GM's lineup in the States, especially for Buick, since the company's Regal sedan is based on the European Opel Insignia. In other words, stay tuned. Related Video:
