1969 Buick Riviera, *matching Numbers* No Reserve, No Trades, Winner Takes All. on 2040-cars
West Jordan, Utah, United States
This is a numbers matching 1969 Buick Riviera, a car very much ahead of its time. With electric fuel pump, concealed headlights and stylish grill, huge 15 inch fined front drum brakes backed up by a power brake booster, you can clearly see the transition between old and new technology, and this is a highly engineered automobile. Did I mention numbers matching, where are you going to find that, this will be $25K or more when restored, which would not be that hard to do because it is nearly complete? Wiring has not been cut up, AC components are in the trunk. I bought this car to part it out, but with numbers matching and how complete and savable it is, I just can’t do it, but I don’t do body work so it needs to go to someone who does. It has been sitting for over 20 years, professionally restarted, bioscope the cylinders, clean as day one, no rust, starts up with carb cleaner, runs great, no smoke. Here is a video, you can hear it run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAfu7dUu9js&feature=youtu.be Engine/Drivetrain: Powerful and smooth running numbers matching Buick V8 with 430 cubic inch

It’s rough and needs work On Apr-16-14 at 09:41:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of questions and I realized I forgot some into so I will post it here: I am including at no charge a new Best Top, top care kit Also included is the hitch mount so you can flat tow the Jeep. The front has a 4 pin towing connector and the rear is wired but does not have a plug installed. I have not towed it or towed with it. It is sold “AS-IS” just like everything else today. It is built for fun, the body has/had rust and rust repairs, it is not for show, and it is for fun. The tail lights are truck lights but they are not LED’s It may need a larger CB antenna, I have never really used it, only a couple times to see if it was working. but I think it is too low or small for good range. I will supply all info on the security system and features via email to the winning bidder. It has a standard belt driven flex fan and a pusher electric fan that is manually controlled. It has a keyed battery switch to shut down everything but the winch. Remote for the winch is included. It has RF sensor for the alarm with a bypass switch and it has an ignition kill switch. |

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
MotorWeek's 80's GM muscle coupe roundup includes Regal GN and Monte Carlo SS
Thu, Jan 29 2015Even with just four brands in the family, General Motors still represents a performance powerhouse. Between the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Camaro Z/28, Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, The General can still deliver plenty of thrills. The 1980s, though, saw the brand go even crazier with performance. While the Camaro and Corvette were still around back in the day, GM had a number of other interesting performance offerings. The Bowtie was complemented by the long-deceased Monte Carlo SS, while the now-defunct Pontiac and Oldsmobile offered the Grand Prix and thumping 442, respectively. And Buick, which isn't short on performance with its Regal GS and Verano Turbo, offered a much more serious vehicle, in the form of the Grand National (not to mention the Darth Vader-spec GNX). MotorWeek, in its hugely entertaining retro flashbacks, looks back on these three long-lost GM performance icons, and it's just as good as you might expect. Buick Avenir concept struts into Motown
Mon, Jan 12 2015We love auto show surprises, and Buick has already gifted us a sparkly package on the eve of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Dubbed Avenir, this four-door concept is said to signal the future of the Trishield brand by previewing a possible flagship sedan. Incorporating time-honored Buick design hallmarks like the sweep-spear profile, Ventiports, and even a subtle boattail rear-end, the four-place sedan is powered by a surprisingly real-world powertrain – namely a next-generation V6 with cylinder deactivation and stop/start, with the most interesting part of the driveline arguably being a "twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system" and a nine-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. Make no mistake, this is a big car. At 204.5 inches long, it's longer than a standard-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade – a span that's emphasized by the car's long hood and waterfall grille – though it's not quite as wide. While clearly a showcar, the beautifully crafted interior looks largely produceable, including attributes like a next-generation 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 4G LTE wifi, but we suspect a production car would pick up a third rear seatbelt and give away some of its flowing contours that are said to have been "inspired by nature and sea waves receding on a beach." No word yet on whether there's actually a showroom future for a car like this – it could simply be an exercise designed to test the waters for a next-generation LaCrosse. After all, sedans aren't exactly popular concept fodder these days, especially as crossovers continue to eat into traditional sedan sales in many of the world's markets. However, China still loves the coddling rear seats of a proper four-door sedan (which in this case include silk and bamboo elements), and with a majority of Buick sales happening in the People's Republic, the Asian nation controls the destiny of this General Motors brand. Said another way? Anything is possible, especially with General Motors known to be working on a large flagship sedan for Cadillac already – the Avenir is reportedly based on the same Omega architecture that will underpin the forthcoming CT6. What do you think? Is this a promising direction for the resurgent Buick? Scroll through our gallery, check out the video, and then have your say in Comments.
