1967 Buick Riviera Base Hardtop 2-door 7.0l on 2040-cars
Mormon Lake, Arizona, United States
Up for sale; my 1967 Buick Riviera, I have owned this car for quite some time and have decided to move it on to someone who will restore it to its original state. all of the mechanicals have been rebuilt replaced or upgraded, the things left to do include; interior reupholster, minor body work and paint. this car is an original survivor and was garaged for many years when I purchased it (still had bias ply tires on it). I have since had the 430 rebuilt professionally, detailed the engine bay, rebuilt the front end components, replaced all four coil springs, shocks are new. I have tried to keep all the replacement parts as original as possible because the car was so well preserved. I would hope whomever wins this auction will appreciate the originality of the car and not "cut it up" or create some kind of low rider/transformer from it. there were only a small number of these cars made in 67" and if you are looking at this I am sure you are aware of what this is. That said, I could go on for hours about what I have done to this car and the condition but the photos represent what I consider an honest depiction of the vehicle... so take a look and contact me with any questions, I will try to answer all of them in a timely manner and will send more photos if requested. mature audiences only please !! note: in trunk photo the "wet" you see is from washing the car and opening the trunk, the seal is fine and the trunk does not leak it is rust free. |

Opel Insignia OPC getting facelift. Will the Buick Regal GS see it, too?
Tue, 07 Aug 2012We've seen spy shots of the base Opel Insignia wearing facelifted front and rear ends, and now it appears that the more potent OPC version will be benefitting from a nip/tuck, as well.
The front bumper has been redesigned, incorporating new air intakes - toned-down versions of the model's signature fangs - as well as a new grille. Out back, there will be minimal changes to the overall fascia, most likely stuff like slightly redesigned taillamps, and inside, these spy shots show a larger navigation/infotainment screen sitting atop the center console.
This is all well and good for the Insignia, but we're wondering how these changes will impact North America's Buick Regal GS. No, it may not share the same powertrain punch as the Euro-spec OPC, but visually, the cars are nearly identical. When questioned about possible changes for the GS, a Buick spokesperson told us that the automaker "can't comment" on any changes at this point. Even so, we wouldn't be surprised if some small changes come our way in the next year or so.
GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses
Thu, Apr 7 2016May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31. NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units.
The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models. The root of the problem is a shorting bar in the inflator module of the steering-wheel-mounted airbag that may contact the primary state airbag terminal, a condition that could prevent deployment in an accident. Dealer technicians have been replacing the steering wheel airbag coils to fix the issue.
According to a post on NHTSA's website, the root cause, said to be a production issue, may not have been completely isolated - particularly for the second recall, which was for the Camaro. According to Automotive News, GM says it is cooperating with the government investigation, but won't say whether or not it knows the true origin of the problem.
