PLEASE read all details good and bad on this car.

We have owned for just over 3 years. We keep pretty good care of it doing basic maintenance when due. The motor and tranny run strong, never had any issues. Car drives AWESOME In the winter. I went through some major snow storms with this car. Was in Sasakachwan Canada with it in Dec 2010 and it was COLD...while everyone elce was plugged in, I could not as does not have block heater, car started RIGHT UP the next morning at -30 below. Very impressed with it. Has 90% highway miles on it, yes miles are high but runs great......is still our daily work driver but we are buying prperty which needs a 4x4 to get to so the car needs to be sold to buy a 4x4.

It needs a tune up here soon. I will include that in this auction upon completion of the sale before you pick it up. Will need some new rubber soon. The fender on passanger side got damaged by a friend, whom replaced it but did not set it in pefect so the door would rub againts it when opened...did this for some time and did some more damage, not major. It's hard to tell in a picture but it is not creased, just pushed in and easy to straighten back out. This is why we are selling cheap and there is a NR on this car. I am sure it is an easy fix and does not make the car look bad. Also needs a little muffler work where sits into cataletic converter...came loose. We can also have that done at the end of the sale and include in the final sale.

Also the previous owner had put in some sort of stero system, all the wires are still in tack for this. Car is CLEAN and has never been smoked in. The leather is good shape, no chips or cracks in any of the windows. Carpet is good and clean. Radio works so does CD player and tape deck. We bought a brand new gas pump for it thinking it was going bad, but then that is when the resister went and we replaced that and is fine. Will include the new pump if ever it is needed.

The good on this car for sale is:

BRAND NEW breaks and rotor all the way around in Sept 2012
RAND NEW Serpentine belt and tension pulley put in Oct 2012
BRAND new struts put in March 2011
BRAND new front and rear bearings put in March 2011
BRAND NEW signal switch put in Sept 2012
BRAND NEW heater fan motor put in June 2012
GOOD glass all the way around, no chips or cracks
NEW Fuel pump resisiter put in Feb 2013.

The bad:

Needs glove box lock
Needs cup holder replaced
Needs pully and belt replaced for supercharger, runs fine with out it.
Needs tune up, but oil changes always done regular
Tires are almost 2 years old bought brand new but will need replaced at some point.
Fender on passenger side needs clips and re done. Friend hit the fender and tried to fix it but did not get the clips to make it sit right. It is on there just not perfect.

We really want to use an eCrate to restomod an old GM car. Here's what we'd build

Fri, Oct 30 2020

You hopefully saw the news today of GM's introduction of its Connect and Cruise eCrate motor and battery package, which effectively makes the Bolt's electric motor, battery pack and myriad other elements available to, ah, bolt into a different vehicle. It's the same concept as installing a gasoline-powered crate motor into a classic car, but with electricity and stuff.  This, of course, got us thinking about what we'd stuff the eCrate into. Before we got too ahead of ourselves, however, we discovered that the eCrate battery pack is literally the Bolt EV pack in not only capacity but size and shape. In other words, you need to have enough space in the vehicle to place and/or stuff roughly 60% of a Chevy Bolt's length. It's not a big car, but that's still an awful lot of real estate. There's a reason GM chose to simply plop the pack into the bed and cargo area of old full-size SUVs. Well that, and having a rear suspension beefy enough to handle about 1,000 pounds of batteries.  So after that buzz kill, we still wanted to peruse the GM back catalog for classics we'd love to see transformed into an electric restomod that might be able to swallow all that battery ... maybe ... possibly ... whatever, saws and blow torches exist for a reason.  1971 Buick Riviera Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: If you’re going to build an electric conversion, why not do it with style? ThatÂ’s why IÂ’m choosing a 1971-1973 Buick Riviera. You know, the one with the big glass boat-tail rear end that ends in a pointy V. Being a rather large vehicle with a big sloping fastback shape, IÂ’m hoping thereÂ’s enough room in the trunk and back seat to pack in the requisite battery pack. That would likely require cutting away some of the metal bulkhead that supports the rear seatback, but not so much that a wee bit of structural bracing couldnÂ’t shore things up. The big 455-cubic-inch Buick V8 up front will obviously have to go. Remember, this was the 1970s, so despite all that displacement, the Riviera only had around 250 horsepower (depending on the year and the trim level). So the electric motorÂ’s 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque ought to work as an acceptable replacement.   1982 Chevrolet S10 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: OK, so the name "E-10" is already taken by a completely different truck, but let's not let labels get in the way of a fun idea.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Buick Century Woodie station wagon

Mon, Oct 9 2017

The Detroit station wagon with fake-wood exterior paneling had a good long postwar run, but minivans and — increasingly — sport utility vehicles were giving such wagons quite a beating in the showrooms by 1992. Buick was down to just two woodies by 1992; here's a discarded example of the front-wheel-drive Century, spotted in a Northern California self-service yard. Buick sold big rear-wheel-drive Roadmaster wagons with Simu-Wood™ siding through the 1996 model year, but the smaller Century was fairly plush. American car shoppers didn't insist on real-looking "wood" on their wagons, although Chrysler went much more three-dimensional with their plastic wood that did GM during this era. This one has the 3.3-liter Buick V6 engine, rated at 160 horsepower. This is not to be confused with the unrelated GM 60° V6, which was available in earlier and later Centuries. If only these seats could talk, they'd tell many tales of sibling battles and spilled fast food. Related Video:

Buick Envision arrives in US next year

Fri, Jul 24 2015

In a detailed piece on what General Motors has planned for the Buick brand stateside, Automotive News reports that the Envision will finally come to the US a little more than a year from now, in the latter half of 2016. The size gap between the small Encore and the large Enclave is a perfect fit for the Chevrolet Equinox-sized Envision. Assuming this actually happens, it should excite both customers and Buick dealers. In China, the Envision uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed transmission. Before then, dealers sales forces will be preparing for the Cascada convertible, expected in Q1 next year. Later in 2016, around the same time as the Envision gets here, we can expect a redesigned Verano sedan. AN says it "should grow in length and interior roominess, similar to the Chevy Cruze," but the Verano already roughly matches or exceeds many Cruze dimensions. The Chinese-market Verano that premiered at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year probably holds some clues to what we'll see, but our version might not be an exact copy. A redesigned, lighter, and slightly larger LaCrosse will be right there with it. In 2017 the redesigned Regal appears. Following the trend, it also gets larger, but that's required because it needs to be more distinct from that larger Verano. AN suggests a new base engine will go in the Regal, perhaps something as small as the 1.5-liter turbo being lined up for the 2016 Chevy Malibu. At the other end, executives are said to be considering importing the diesel Opel Insignia wagon for the Regal lineup. If they bring the manual over, auto scribes will probably take the day off when the first one arrives, and make it an industry holiday.
