Salty Ohio winters have taken their toll on the undercarriage and body panels. All undercarriage fuel and brake tubing was replaced. Door panels have rusted and separated on their lower edge. Rust spots show on body panels. The brake pedal is too low in spite of installing a complete new brake system. Maybe the new owner will figure out why the pedal is low. In hot weather, the engine has a tendency to overheat in stop-and-go traffic. Engine runs well but leaks oil around the front cover/seal. Air conditioning currently operating but weak- needs some Freon."

 1987 Buick Regal T-Type with 455 Engine

Questions:  wahlehw at att dot net

DESCRIPTION:    This Regal is a real T-Type that came with a non-turbo 3.8 V6. I bought it used with 36,000-miles. A rebuilt 455 Stage 1 Buick engine was swapped in at 52,100 miles. Current mileage is 138,100 with 86,000 miles on the engine. This is a non-smoker vehicle.

Engine:  455 Stage 1 Buick engine with 9.5 to 1 compression ratio (462 cu-in).

Drive Train: Grand National drive train: torque converter, TH200-4R trans, driveshaft and 3.42 posi-differential.

Induction System: Holley ProJection throttle body on an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. The 900 cfm throttle body contains four 85-lb/hr injectors. MegaSquirt digital fuel controller and K&N air filter. The MegaSquirt digital fuel controller is programmed with a laptop computer via a free graphical interface. This system requires some knowledge of digital fuel injection systems. The MegaSquirt web site contains a great deal of free information on all aspects of their controller and digital fuel control.

Exhaust:  Magnaflow 2-1/2" stainless steel X-crossover dual exhaust system with stainless steel straight-through mufflers and head pipes. Stock lightly ported exhaust manifolds

Suspension:  Regal diesel front springs, KYB gas shocks, GN front and rear sway bars

Ignition:  HEI electronic ignition

Brakes:  Complete new brake system in 2012 including master cylinder, vacuum power booster, proportioning valve, all steel brake lines, front rotors and calipers, rear wheel cylinders, and flexible brake hoses

Fuel System:  External electric fuel pump mounted on side rail. All fuel lines replaced with rubber hose or braided stainless steel hose

Cooling System:  4-core radiator with clutch fan. New water pump in 2013

Interior:  Very clean gray interior with front bucket seats and center console

Power Accessories:  Power windows & power driver’s seat

CONDITION:     The car starts and runs well. Engine oil and filter changed at 3-4000-mile intervals. All mechanical parts were on a regular maintenance schedule. The digital fuel controller replaced an unreliable Holley analog fuel controller. The digital system has been driver for 23,000-miles over 7-years and has been very reliable. An oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold is the primary sensor that controls air-fuel ratio.  All sensors can be viewed on a laptop computer including air-fuel ratio, air and water temps, RPM, throttle position, injector pulse width, manifold air pressure, plus many more operating parameters. The interior is still very nice and clean for 138,100 miles. The chrome bumpers are in good condition. The aluminum T-Type rims have a gray oxidized coating.

KNOWNN MAJOR DEFECTS:    Rust is the primary reason I’m selling this car that has been driven year-round. Updated Buick LaCrosse, Regal to debut at New York Auto Show

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Judging by the spy shots we saw last week for the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal, we knew it wouldn't be much longer until we saw both sedans receive a grand debut. Today, Buick confirmed to Autoblog both cars will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month, but no further information has yet been released about either model.
Having been on the market for an extra couple years, the changes to the LaCrosse appear to be more significant than those coming for the Regal, but both will be getting refreshed exterior designs as well as updated interiors. The Regal's new face brings it more in line with the all-new Encore and the restyled Enclave, while the LaCrosse should get a more distinctive, upscale appearance.
Both cars will be introduced exactly a month from today, and we'll be there to bring you all the coverage.

2013 Buick Encore

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.

Junkyard Gem: 1983 Buick LeSabre Estate Station Wagon, Rocky Mountain High Edition

Thu, Mar 23 2017

If you live in Colorado and want an affordable chariot to haul you and your snowboarding droogs to the slopes, you could get one of the obvious cheapskate choices, e.g., a Tercel 4WD, a Corolla All-Trac, or an 80s 4WD Subaru wagon. However, if you want to channel the spiritual forefathers of early-1980s punk rock (and you do), you'll need a big, battered, Detroit bomb. This '83 LeSabre, spotted in a Denver self-service wrecking yard, is such a car. As you can see in 1984's Suburbia, you're pretty much halfway to being a member of The Vandals when you drive a couple of tons of once-luxurious Detroit Iron. 1983 was the final year of the Malaise Era, and so you didn't get much power from the V8s back then. The standard engine for the LeSabre that year was an Olds 307 generating a mere 140 horsepower. The only way to get a burnout out of this setup was to pour a case of Lucky Lager over the right rear tire, then neutral-drop the transmission while floating the valves. Chrysler and Nissan dominated the Whorehouse Red car interiors during the 1980s, but GM made a respectable showing with this scratchy, velour-influenced stuff. When you know you're a car's last owner, nothing holds you back from decorating it to suit your tastes. Ron Paul, the Snowboarders + Skiers For Christ, and many other icons of Buick-driving snow enthusiasts are represented upon the ample flanks of this wagon. How many miles are on it? With a five-digit odometer, there's no telling. The Colorado sun is rough on interiors, but this car may have spent its first couple of decades parking in a garage, or maybe it came from cloudy Oregon. Advertising for this generation of LeSabre emphasized fuel economy, which may have been a less-than-convincing approach. Related Video:
