TThis car was owned by a neighbor and she was going to sell it to junk yard for scrap. It needed a lot of work but i thought it deserved a better future so i purchased it and its been a strugle but well worth it in my opinion. The motor is a 1973 350cc that came out of a truck and thats all i know about its history. From here on its an educated quess as to what has been done. After removing the valve covers we noticed how clean and new everything looked but we were having trouble developing power. So we soon relized that the lifters were set for hydraulics when in fact they were solid lifters.Once everything was adjusted proberly boy did we have power. The engine runs and sounds great,it might have a mild cam in it and although i said it had 40,000 miles on it theres a good chance that it is a fresh rebuild with less than 50 miles on it.It has a elderbrock performance high rise manifold,an elderbrock 750 carberator with electric choke, headers, true duel exhaust with flowmaster mufflers,no cats MSD Ignition and and promaster coil.It is a car that is set up to be a street rod.All the computers have been removed and a lot of rewireing was done because of that and critters eating the wires. There are 3 brand new tires on it[p235 160 R15] new headlights, new hood support struts new kick panels and new trunk lock with seperate keys. All lights work including directionals brake back-up low beam high beam running lights interior under hood and trunk. It has new volt meter, oil and temperator and tach there is no speedometer and all guages lite up.Installed diferent seats in the front the driver side is full power the seats do not fold forward but the drivers seat will go forward enougth to allow acess to the back. The neighbor told me that the transmition had been rebuilt it does shift nice the brakes are good and the emergency brake works. The paint is Krylon smoke gray out of a spray can the carpets are so-so there was some rust and thats been taken care of and the body is super strait with no issues. There is no radio but there are speakers in back and all wireing is precent. The heat works good and the car came with air but is missing compressor and hoses. To sum up no mechanical issues no electrical issues and no suspension issues. If there are question either e-mail or give me a call at 575-434-5755.Also it has brand new battery and shocks and the fuel gauge works. You are responcible for shipping[88310]and a $500.00 deposit to paypal right after buying and we'll work final payment out later. The stock seats go with car if you want them. The windshield has a crack on the passenger side that was caused by a bee-bee gun not to bad and its circular and you can't feel it other than where the bee-bee hit. Also all the locks on car work good.

Junkyard Gem: 1983 Buick LeSabre Estate Station Wagon, Rocky Mountain High Edition

Thu, Mar 23 2017

If you live in Colorado and want an affordable chariot to haul you and your snowboarding droogs to the slopes, you could get one of the obvious cheapskate choices, e.g., a Tercel 4WD, a Corolla All-Trac, or an 80s 4WD Subaru wagon. However, if you want to channel the spiritual forefathers of early-1980s punk rock (and you do), you'll need a big, battered, Detroit bomb. This '83 LeSabre, spotted in a Denver self-service wrecking yard, is such a car. As you can see in 1984's Suburbia, you're pretty much halfway to being a member of The Vandals when you drive a couple of tons of once-luxurious Detroit Iron. 1983 was the final year of the Malaise Era, and so you didn't get much power from the V8s back then. The standard engine for the LeSabre that year was an Olds 307 generating a mere 140 horsepower. The only way to get a burnout out of this setup was to pour a case of Lucky Lager over the right rear tire, then neutral-drop the transmission while floating the valves. Chrysler and Nissan dominated the Whorehouse Red car interiors during the 1980s, but GM made a respectable showing with this scratchy, velour-influenced stuff. When you know you're a car's last owner, nothing holds you back from decorating it to suit your tastes. Ron Paul, the Snowboarders + Skiers For Christ, and many other icons of Buick-driving snow enthusiasts are represented upon the ample flanks of this wagon. How many miles are on it? With a five-digit odometer, there's no telling. The Colorado sun is rough on interiors, but this car may have spent its first couple of decades parking in a garage, or maybe it came from cloudy Oregon. Advertising for this generation of LeSabre emphasized fuel economy, which may have been a less-than-convincing approach. Related Video:

Leno recalls '90s showdown with Tim Allen and his mullet

Wed, Oct 7 2015

Not many of us have buddies with garages full of classic cars, but that isn't the case for Jay Leno and Tim Allen. Of course, one of the advantages for two guys with such vast collections is occasionally getting to pit their cars against each other. The two comedians did just that in the mid-'90s with a burnout battle on The Tonight Show between Allen in a race-prepped Mustang and Leno in a drag racer. After some time away from regular television, Leno is returning to the airwaves with a Jay Leno's Garage series premiering on Oct. 7 (tonight) at 10:00 p.m. ET on CNBC. Let this clip serve as another taste of what to expect for the new TV show's mix of comedy and cars. After reminiscing about the old days in a gorgeous garage, the comedians get into two modern machines to reprise the classic challenge – after a little trash talk anyway. Don't worry because the YouTube series isn't going anywhere, though.

Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
