  • Condition:  Excellent condition - 99% rust free - only areas of rust include rear bumper and a couple small spots on driver-side door. Air-conditioning and cruise control are available with car, but currently not hooked up. Been in storage for a few years, could use a mild tune-up.
  •

  • Features: Originally came with the 3.8L V6 engine.  The V6 was taken out and a 355 small block backed by a turbo 400 transmission was put in its place.  At that same time we installed a locker in the rear axle and 3.08 gears.  The motor work was done by Woodke Engines.  The Woodke shop is known all across the country for building some of the best race engines for dirt track, including sprint car engines.  The engine is balanced, has arp fasteners, flat top pistons, aluminum heads, roller rockers, solid lifter cam, aluminum intake, edelbrock carb,  and hooker headers.  I have never had it on a dyno but am told that the horsepower should be north of 400.  The transmission is just a nice working th400 with a B&M torque convertor.  And it will still get 15 to 20mpg depending on your foot.  The car has probably only been driven around 2500 to 3000 miles since the motor was put in and maybe 250 miles the last four years combined.  My wife just doesn't enjoy the car as much as I do.  It has been sitting in storage for a couple years and could use either fresh gas or a carb cleaning.  The interior is in very good shape.  The car has never been repainted.  You will look a long time to find one as clean as this.

GM announces net 220 job increase as Trump visits Michigan

    Wed, Mar 15 2017

GM announced today that about 900 jobs would be added (or, importantly, retained) ahead of President Trump's arrival in Michigan, where he is expected to discuss his plan to roll back fuel economy standards. The timing of the announcement is almost certainly not coincidental, as appending it to a Trump visit gives it a higher profile and dovetails with the President's jobs agenda. It's less likely the decision itself was made for those reasons, but the free PR boost is a nice bonus. As for those 900 jobs themselves, they aren't all new jobs. The only net gain is approximately 220 jobs at the Romulus Powertrain Plant, which produces the 10-speed automatic transmission that's proliferating through the company's lineup. The 180 jobs at Flint Assembly and 500 jobs at Lansing Delta Township are retained jobs – that is to say, spots the company found for workers who would otherwise have been laid off. By the way, the Flint jobs will help with production of heavy-duty pickups, and the Lansing jobs are to produce the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Finding jobs for manufacturing workers in the auto sector, whether new or retained, is admirable. No matter how GM couches it, the company has created or retained a total of 7,000 jobs this year, and its total reinvestment in US production is around $1 billion. But these decisions are business ones, not political ones – timing the announcements to make them seem inspired by economic policy, or the political situation, is simply smart PR. GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

    Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. Buick really wants us to know the new Cascada convertible won't leak

    Thu, Apr 16 2015

Quality testing on the factory floor is nothing to joke about. Automakers need to make sure the work being done is up to snuff, and that means some extensive checks. For Buick, that means using a lot of water for each of its Cascada convertibles. Each vehicle that rolls off the floor is subject to a high-pressure, ten-minute soaking that sprays nearly 20 gallons of water from each nozzle during every bath, just to guarantee the fabric roof hasn't sprung any leaks. For some reason, Buick has chosen to show off this testing with the help of what we imagine is the Gorton's Fisherman's baby cousin. Check out the strange testing video, available up top.
