1959 Buick Invicta Two Door Hardtop.  This is a very original, 79000 mile, Buick. It has the original 445 Wildcat engine with a stated horsepower rating at 325, as well as the complete original drive train. It drives perfectly and is very powerful. The paint is original (please look closely at the original paint in the photos), it is in very good to excellent condition. The color combination is "Arctic White" over "Lido Lavender."Again, please look closely at all of the photos. This is excellent running, original car and should be in a museum or antique car collection. All the glass is good, it runs perfectly, and can be driven anywhere.  If you wanted, you could fly into Salt Lake City, and drive home in this original Buick Invicta.  I have the original title in hand, as well as the original owner's manual, and service records.  The original Firestone spare is still in the trunk. The original carpets are in good shape and it has a perfect headliner. It has new brakes, a new battery, and a recent tuneup. The body is very straight. The doors, hood, and trunk lid open and close like a new car. The trunk rubber seal and the door seals are in very good condition. The wide white wall tires have excellent tread. The window cranks roll up and down smoothly, and it is difficult to imagine that this Buick Invicta is over 50 years old. If you have any questions about the Buick, please feel comfortable messaging me or calling.  My phone number is (801) 745-5835. I would be glad to talk with you about the Buick.

I highly value my 100% positive feedback rating on Ebay and I want to be sure the new owner knows exactly what they are getting.  With this in mind, I will list the very few minor issues I have found with the car. 1. The seat covers look original to the car and are in good condition, but I think the original seat covers might be underneath. 2. There is minor surface rust, about the size of a quarter, by the rear license plate, as well as two very small bubbles on the passenger's side front fender. There are minor dings a scratches in the chrome.  They are difficult to see and hard to photograph.  The car is in very good condition, but it is original and has not been restored and after fifty years, it has some minor scratches in the trim. If you have any concerns about the condition, please call me. This is easily a # 3 car and, in my opinion, a good # 2. They are only original once!

I will gladly assist the new owner in shipping the car anywhere in the world. The shipping cost is at the owner's expense, but I can store the car for a reasonable time, and I will assist the truck driver in getting the car loaded and shipped.  I hope this really nice, original, Buick Invicta finds a good home.

On Jul-01-14 at 10:48:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

In a recent check of the rear quarters of the car, I found another minor rust issue that I want to be sure the new owner is aware of. On the rear fender, behind the rear wheel, underneath the car, there is some bubbling in an old minor repair. The rear fenders fold underneath the car and this is were the small bubbles can be observed. It is not noticeable without crawling under the car. As I mentioned, I highly value my 100% positive feedback on Ebay. This newly discovered problem is nothing serious, but I don't want the new owner to get the car home and later discover problem areas I didn't list. It is a minor issue, and I will send photos if needed. The floors are in excellent shape from the trunk to the front of the car. There is still original undercoating on the floors and they are absolutely dry and rust free. There is original paint still on the frame rails.

GM delivers best Q3 sales since 1980, 2.4M vehicles sold

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

People are a weird sort. Even after registering over 70 recalls through the first three-quarters of 2014, General Motors saw its best Q3 results since Jimmy Carter was in the White House, registering over 2.4 million global sales between June and September on the back of strong results in the US and China.
US sales were marshaled by good results for GM's pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which bumped the manufacturer's truck market share to 35.6 percent, up nearly three points from Q1 2014. Buick has seen healthy growth as well, with the Encore dominating its segment for the sixth month running.
It was China, though, that really bolstered GM's sales, as the company's efforts to top last year's record-setting 3.16 million units continued apace. Small SUV sales saw massive growth, with Encore, Chevrolet Trax and Captiva figures jumping 90 percent in Q3. Brand-wise, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick all saw sales gains in the PRC, with each recording double-digit year-over-year jumps. Cadillac sales alone were up 63 percent compared to the first nine months of 2013.

2017 Buick Encore freshens up for the New York Auto Show

Thu, Feb 25 2016

Buick is dressing up the 2017 Encore for spring – specifically the New York Auto Show – where the compact crossover is expected to strut its stuff. The freshening follows the playbook of the Chevy Trax, which was also updated with a light hand. Though it keeps its familiar shape, sort of like an oversized Pontiac Vibe, the Encore gets Buick's new grille. It's a simple look with the wings bisecting the brand's tri-shield, and it calls to mind Buick's iconic front ends from yesteryear. You might remember it from the Avenir and Avista concepts. There are also new headlights. They look stolen from Audi, and it's an attention-getting gaze for the new face of the Encore. There will likely be new wheel packages, too. We can't see inside the Encore. Spy photographers couldn't get close enough to this Buick shoot in Southern California. But, we expect the interior to also mirror the Trax enhancements, which included a new instrument panel, gauges, materials, and infotainment. The Encore shares underpinnings with the Trax and Opel Mokka. We expect the Encore to arrive in late summer. GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

Fri, Jul 21 2017

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.
