1990 Buick Hearse By Eagle Coach on 2040-cars
Mesa, Arizona, United States
1990 black Buick hearse by Eagle coach. Very good cosmetically, excellent mechanically! Owned only by two funeral homes before I bought it. It has a 5.0L V8 and is the last year of the 4-barrell carburetor for Buick. This hearse is built on the Buick Estate Wagon industrial platform and has only 36,000 original miles! All curtains are intact and the coffin rollers work freely. The upholstery is in excellent condition, as well as the "passenger" section. It would be an excellent backup hearse for a funeral home, or a great way to haul just about anything, or just a really cool ride. I drove it over 1,000 miles with no problems at all getting 15-18 mpg (thanks to the 4-speed automatic with overdrive). It has ice-cold air, cruise control, power windows, power brakes, power door locks, tilt wheel, a new exhaust, a wig-wag headlight circuit, and no mechanical problems that I know of. A test drive will say it all! The load-leveling rear shocks were replaced with conventional shocks and the air compressor disconnected (they haven't made parts for these in years). The tires are good and all glass is intact with no windshield cracks or chips. The top material is in excellent condition, indicating the vehicle was always garaged while in service. As to cosmetic flaws, the basic Delco radio and power antenna do not work, it has a few stains under the arm rest on the front seat, is missing a right-rear corner trim piece by the rear bumper, as well as some brittle trim pieces behind the 5 mph bumpers (you really have to look for these). Also, the headliner material is completely intact, however, is sagging due to the foam backing deterioration. Any upholstery shop could replace this backing. There may be other minor paint flaws here and there. You will not find a better example of a hearse of this vintage with lower miles! No tax because I am NOT a dealer! This hearse was purchased by me exclusively for my last Halloween party; only selling it because I am moving. Yes, that is a real wooden coffin in back, and is INCLUDED (a good prop, but could use some paint touch-up to be used for a service)! This is for local pickup ONLY. I (personally) would NEVER buy a vehicle without seeing it (or having it locally inspected), so come see it yourself in person or send a rep so that you know exactly what you are looking at. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Question of the Day: Best recipient for supercharged GM V6?
Wed, Apr 20 2016The good old Buick V6 engine was built from 1961 through 2008 (including a decade of production by Kaiser-Jeep) and went into way too many General Motors vehicles to list here. In 1991, the supercharged version of the 3800 was introduced, with a Roots-style Eaton blower on top, and now you can find these engines in just about every junkyard in North America. The 3800 shares a bellhousing pattern with the also-made-by-the-zillions GM 60° V6 engine, which means that it will install (with varying levels of sledgehammer clearancing and/or axle mix-and-matching) into plenty of GM vehicles that never received the 3800 from the factory. That means one thing: engine swaps! An excellent example of this is the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina APV "Dustbuster" minivan, which is a fully caged high-performance road-racing machine that features a supercharged 3800 and 5-speed manual transmission under its long, vacuum-cleaner-snout-like hood. The RaceVan, in Springfield Monorail livery, will compete this weekend at the Michigan 24 Hours of LeMons race with Autobloggers Mike Austin, David Gluckman, and Alex Kierstein at the wheel. My personal choice for supercharged 3800 power, though, has to be the Cadillac Cimarron, preferably the not-so-sought-after Cimarron d'Oro Edition. Some bashing and welding and cutting and pasting and this lightweight Cavalier sibling could have well over double its original horsepower. So, what's your blown 3800 engine-swap choice? Buick Envision CUV displays full-frontal nudity
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Earlier this month, Shanghai GM gave us a glimpse of the production version of the Buick Envision concept revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show back in 2011. And now it's released the first unveiled shot and initial details of the crossover to slot in the considerable gap between the Encore and Enclave.
The new Envision is set later this year to reach Chinese showrooms, where it will be called the Ang Ke Wei, after which we're expecting it to arrive Stateside. The production-ready Envision is about the size of the Chevrolet Equinox or GMC Terrain, but is differentiated by a more upscale treatment and Buick's signature waterfall grille, flanked by Xenon headlamps and LED running lights and riding on 19-inch wheels.
Power comes from GM's familiar 2.0-liter turbo four with direct injection and stop/start ignition, driving 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. That's about all that GM's Chinese operation has announced at this point - it's not even clear what platform the vehicle is on - but you can check out the press release for yourself below.
Spy photos of the upcoming Buick Regal wagon, via the Opel Insignia
Fri, Nov 11 2016We're pretty sure Buick is working on a Regal wagon. And because the Regal is the Opel Insignia on the other side of the pond, these spy photos show us what's in store when it eventually turns into a Buick. The rakish wagon was lightly camouflaged, giving us our best look at the upcoming vehicle. The wagon shares a lot of the same design cues as the Insignia sedan that we spotted earlier. The bottom of the front end is covered in heavy camouflage, masking the wagon's grille. It's unsure to tell whether the black nostril-like pieces sitting above the grille are vents or just tape. The prototype still shares the same upright nose as the model we spotted earlier, giving the wagon a wider stance than its predecessor. The side profile of the wagon is sleeker, thanks to the extra four inches between the axles, than the current model is, with the design mimicking that of a shooting brake instead of a traditional wagon. The rear end of the wagon is also more upright with the taillights and bottom part of the fender jutting out beyond the glass. The boxy design sitting atop of the rear end doesn't match the rest of the vehicle and appears to be a part of the car's camouflage. With the tunnel-like design at the top gone, the rear end would have a more streamlined design. With the next Regal expected to continue on as a rebadged Insignia, the likelihood of a Regal Wagon in the US look good, but aren't set in stone. Late last year, Buick filed two trademarks for "Tourx" and "Regal Tourx," pointing towards a high-riding wagon with all-wheel drive. Imagine these spy shots with a taller suspension and some crossover-inspired trim pieces and you have a wagon that could take on the likes of the Subaru Outback and Audi Allroad.
