BUICK PARK AVENUE : LOADED - DVD VIDEO PLAYER BLUETOOTH AND MORE BUICK PARK AVENUE 2000 : DONT LET THE HI MILEAGE ON THIS PUPPY FOOL YOU. MY LAST MECHANIC DID AN ENGINE REBUILD , WHEN IT WAS LAST SERVICED, (THOUGH I seem to have lost the recs ) THIS IS A NICE SPACIOUS RETRO STYLED SEDAN SPORTING A STATE OF ART V6 OHC ENGINE. THIS CAR GIVES BETTER ECONOMY THAN THE SAME YEAR CAMRY OR NISSAN AND YET ITS A LOT MORE SPACIOUS. 23 mpg on hwg / 19 mpg on the streets/ THE 25K MILEAGE IS MILEAGE AFTER REBUILD. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR , IT WAS LIKE 198K MILES. IT WORKED PERFECTLY THEN . I PLANNED ON USING THIS FOR 4-5 YEARS ( WHICH IS JUST WHAT HAPPENED ) SO I HAD A MECHANIC REBUILD THE ENGINE AND INSTALL THE DVD ETC. SO THE FUNCTIONAL ENGINE LIFE IS 25K MILES AFTER REBUILD. THAT IS WHAT I SAID IN THE TITLE - AND I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR HERE.So totally its got 225k but dont let the high mileage deceive you in the performance, for, the engine was rebuilt.
SO WHATS WRONG WITH THIS CAR ? NOTHING . THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AT ALL. YOU JUST KEEP FILLING THE GAS . CHANGE OIL AND IT KEEPS RUNNING ON AND ON AND ON ................. Having said that , understand that this car is USED. ITS NOT GOING TO LOOK 'NEW' . Consistent with usage ,you will find that there are dings ,scratches ,paint chips and discolorations. The seat belt on drivers side does not click - it needs a handle ( receptacle ) change - should cost you $20 on ebay or $5 at a used car shop. The windshield is slightly cracked on the lower aspect but I could conceal a large part of that by putting on tinted glass row . It does NOT impair the drivers vision. So let me ask you this ....are you Miss Picky ? If you expect this car like its prepped up by a dealer so it looks show room for some $4000 ( those dealer cars look pretty and within 1 month all the "make up" falls apart ....you got to understand that ) ... If you are going to look at every single corner of the car with a microscope .... ....if you expect to pay for beer and expect champagne in a champagne bottle...then FORGET looking here. This is not for you . ----If you expect good quality beer in a beer bottle --- this is for you . .....If you expect champagne in a beer bottle - YES this will still work for you. I have maintained, prepped and used this car,as an honest - 'mom and pop' seller - not selling it like a used car salesman . I hope this clarifies many things and how you should keep your expectatioons. ASK ME QUESTIONS ( preferred via ebay contact me ) ,MAKE ME AN OFFER , MY TEL 925 400 7190 . Send me a Text first please If you 'd like a test ride - that can be arranged , absolutely. Let me know a day in advance at least. I am free after 7 pm only though IF YOU WIN THIS AUCTION - PL PAY ME A $100 "BOOKING AMT" within 24 hrs by paypal. Then you can come in a few days time and pick up the car - against CASH / CASHIERS CHECK / MONEY ORDER. FOR CASHIERS CHECK / MO - I HAVE TO VERIFY THE CHECK IS REAL ACTUAL VIDEO OF THIS CAR. Video # 1 IT HAS 4 PARTS SO THE QUALITY IS NOT GREAT ESP WHEN IT COMES TO GETTING THE ENGINE SHOT AS BY THIS TIME IT WAS ALREADY DUSK --THE 1ST PART SHOWS THE BUICK BEING FILMED FROM OUTSIDE. THE QUALITY OF THE SHOOT IS'NT AT ALL IMPRESSIVE AND I DO APOLOGIZE OF FOR THAT . MY ROOM-MATE IS'NT THE SHARPEST SHOOTER OUT THERE . ---NEXT- I am actually DRIVING THE CAR ON INTERSTATE. THIS IS A BETTER CLIP . IT CLEARLY SHOWS THE RPM AND SPEEDOMETER ( AT 70). I could go faster but there was TRAFFIC around. You can see where I tried to change lanes and move to the lefter speed lane but - it was 'nt an empty hwy at this time that too on a week-end. -- 3rd part shows I am parked and fidgeting with the video player. There is a Video and Audio sample being played. These come from a SD card I inserted. But it can play your IPHONE IPAD , USB connection and DVD- best of my K. --4th part that is'nt that clear shows the engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhKPlWxlxaY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B9KeDV_ZHM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4TFYJnTzeg Video's # 2 and 3 small snippets of the car being driven - taken from inside and outside- showing various things -I already started up the car and the engine is already on, twiddling the seats memory adjustments ( you can hear the seats move in background) , playing the Video player (using an SD card ) and another shows the car being driven at 80 mph for a brief time. The quality is not really great - many clips were shot with an iphone while driving .But it gives a very good idea of whats coming HERE IS SOME MORE INFO ABOUT BUICK PARK AVENUE 2000 REVIEWS ETC from AOL auto Muscular grace, athletic response and lots of room.BOTTOMLINE IS THIS : THIS IS A VERY RELIABLE CAR. YOU CAN COME PICK IT FROM HERE ,CA AND DRIVE IT ALL THE WAY BACK EAST , NY WITH CONFIDENCE- I WILL GIVE YOU MY 100% WORD FOR IT . ITS BODY AND INTERIOR ARE NOT OVERTLY PLUSHED, THAT A DEALER WOULD DO IF HE BOUGHT THIS CAR AND HAD TO RESELL IT. THEY SHOW USAGE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE & MIGHT NEED SMALL FACE LIFT - THOUGHT IT DOES NOT REALLY LOOK UNPRESENTABLE AT ALL - THE WAY IT IS INTRODUCTIONBuick Park Avenue offers refinement and elegance, but it's a practical car. Quiet and luxurious, the Park Avenue provides a roomy cabin and a big trunk. Excellent road manners with surprisingly good dynamic capabilities make for an enjoyable driving experience. StabiliTrak is now available on the Park Avenue. StabiliTrak is designed to help the driver maintain control when the car is in danger of sliding or skidding, and it comes standard on the 2000 Park Avenue Ultra. Further improving safety are side air bags, which come standard on Park Avenues, along with new rear child seat tether anchors. LINEUPTwo models are available: Park Avenue and Park Avenue Ultra. Park Avenue ($31,800) comes with a 205-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine. It comes trimmed in cloth with power windows, power mirrors, climate control, cruise control, automatic headlights and other convenience features. Anti-lock brakes and side air bags are standard. Park Avenue Ultra ($36,800) gets a 240-horsepower supercharged version of the same V6. Trimmed in leather and wood, the Ultra adds heated front seats, mirrors with parallel park assist, a compass, moisture-sensing wipers and other features. In addition to its more powerful engine, the Ultra comes with StabiliTrak, traction control, a heavy-duty transmission and magnetic speed-sensitive power steering. WALKAROUNDPark Avenue presents a muscular grace that Buick designers want their cars to project, particularly in the slightly more aggressive looks of the Ultra. Park Avenue prioritizes comfort over style. Its cabin and trunk are the roomiest in the class and big doors make getting in and out easy. Park Avenue packs these virtues in a shape that's graceful and quietly elegant. INTERIORThe Park Avenue offers more interior room in both the front and rear seats than the Lincoln Continental or Chrysler LHS. Getting in and out is devoid of the simultaneous duck-and-bend movement required in swoopier designs. The trunk is slightly larger than that of the LHS and Continental. The interior looks clean and tasteful. The cowl curves modestly over the main instruments. Besides offering a contemporary appearance, this design allows room for a big speedometer and tachometer that are easy to scan. The dashboard shows sharp color contrasts between secondary controls (sound and climate control systems) and the main interior colors. Wood trim accents the door trim panels. Audio and climate controls use big buttons that are easy to find and operate when the car is in motion. The Ultra includes a full array of luxury goodies - premium CD sound system, leather, power everything - that make the going more pleasant. A trip computer allows the driver to calculate fuel economy and miles to empty. It also provides tire pressure, oil level and coolant level information. Two trip odometers are provided, which can be useful on long trips. Next Generation (reduced force) dual front airbags are standard and side airbags are optional. The Park Avenue offers a strong safety cage construction and the doors are designed to automatically unlock within 15 seconds of an airbag deployment. The Park Avenue offers low insurance costs when compared with other cars. It also offers good fuel efficiency: an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway for Park Avenue and 18/27 for the supercharged Ultra. The Concert Sound III stereo system, which comes standard on the Ultra and is available as an option on the Park Avenue, come with nine speakers, an amplifier and an integrated antenna system. DRIVING IMPRESSIONThe Park Avenue uses one of the stiffest chassis in the entire GM warehouse. That's a big plus. A stiff chassis helps the suspension engineers create ride and handling traits appropriate to a particular car's target market. It also makes it easier to keep noise out of the car, and pays long-term durability benefits. Given this trait, it was interesting to see the handling distinctions between the basic Park Avenue and the flagship Ultra. The ride and handling traits of the standard Park Avenue are indistinguishable from its predecessors, traits that have earned big Buick sedans a stodgy image over the years - floating ride quality, pronounced body roll and vague power steering. We prefer the livelier performance of the Park Avenue Ultra. With its supercharged engine and touring suspension, it can easily take on the best Lincoln and Chrysler have to offer. If the Ultra's extra performance isn't important to you, the standard Park Avenue may be the way to go. The Park Avenue comes well equipped and stacks up as an exceptional buy among large cars. GM's 3800 Series II V6 offers enough smooth, quiet power to provide brisk acceleration. Available in 205-horsepower normally aspirated (Park Avenue) and 240-horsepower supercharged (Ultra) versions, the 3800 delivers lots of low rpm getaway power, instant throttle response, and plenty of punch for passing. Power is transferred to the front wheels through one of GM's butter-smooth electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmissions. They're among the best in the business. Anti-lock brakes come standard. Its optional Gran Touring suspension further improves the responsiveness of the Park Avenue by replacing the standard Dynaride suspension with stiffer suspension components. The Gran Touring Package is available for the Ultra ($200) and includes special 16-inch aluminum wheels and 225/60R16 Goodyear Eagle LS Touring tires. When ordered for the Park Avenue ($335 or $285 when purchased with the leather package), the package also includes dealer-programmable magnetic variable-effort steering and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The steering system, which is different from the basic Park Avenue, varies the amount of power assist as vehicle speed and/or steering wheel angle increases, providing a significantly better sense of where the front wheels are pointed. The stiffer suspension package reduces ride height slightly and yields much sharper responses in quick maneuvers. The tradeoff in ride quality from the standard Park Avenue is minuscule. All in all, the Ultra's enhanced control and firmer ride lends a contemporary feel that's a pleasant step forward for Buick. Quiet operation has always been a top priority for Buick sedans, and here too the Park Avenues represent a step forward. Wind noise has been reduced to a mere whisper, and the unitbody does a superior job of keeping road noise out of the cabin. The supercharged engine is audible at full throttle, but we think it's worth a little extra noise to have its superior thrust. Add roomy seats with real move-around comfort, and the going becomes positively serene, particularly in freeway cruising. The Park Avenue isn't quite as quiet as a Lexus LS 400, but the distinctions are academic in most operating situations - unlike the distinction in price. SUMMARYBuick has characterized itself as a purveyor of 'Premium American Motorcars,' and the Park Avenue is its ambassador for this theme with subdued good looks, class-leading roominess, and many luxury features. It's also an excellent value for a car in this size and price class. The Park Avenue is no sports sedan, but the Ultra with the Gran Touring Suspension is surprisingly athletic. Jay Leno recaps Pebble Beach
Wed, Sep 30 2015Each year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the picturesque, ocean-side setting of the golf course becomes a parking lot for a vast array of multi-million dollar vehicles. However, if you missed the posh event this year, then Jay Leno has you covered yet again. For a nearly hour-long installment of Jay Leno's Garage, the comedian has dumped his denim in favor of a suit to take viewers on an insider tour of the lavish gathering. He interviewed some of the most talented designers in the auto industry, too. Leno starts off checking out a few beautiful classics by the shore, but things really get interesting for his stroll down the Concept Car Lawn for a scoop on the vehicles of tomorrow. Ed Welburn tells Leno all about the Buick Avenir, and Shiro Nakamura offers a tour of the Infiniti Q60. Plus, there are detailed looks at the Lincoln Continental, Hyundai Vision G Coupe, and Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6. 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.
Sell-it-yourself: 1998 Buick Century Limited

Well before Buick was tight with the Chinese, it was working to reconnect with middle class America. Of course, there's the middle class, and then there's the aspirational middle class. For them, near the end of the 20th Century, Buick offered the Buick Century and its better-zip-code derivative, the Century Limited. Having attended the Buick press launch about this time, the Century was – and is – what we'd call tidy in proportion and clean in its detailing. Its interior design and execution might have leaned toward old school, but the exterior surfaces were responsibly devoid of affectation. In short, almost twenty years ago we would have judged this to be sheetmetal that, if not defying age, would have certainly resisted aging. And we'll stand by that today. Our for sale example, nineteen years old and showing just over 111,000 miles, looks to deliver ample bang for the buck, especially when talking only 2,500 of those bucks. From the photos, this Buick seems to have come from a good home, even if the passenger rear door reflects what we used to call a whiskey ding, and is now - probably - a mojito ding. While kicking tires in West Palm Beach, note the custom wheels; they, too, are limited. Shop for the listing here. Buick Car Buying Used Car Buying Ownership Sedan
