1995 Buick Park Avenue Ultra 3.8l Supercharged on 2040-cars
Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, United States
I am assisting my parents in selling their NON-RUNNING 1995 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with the supercharged 3.8L engine. Unfortunately, they got raked over the coals in attempting to have a private individual and two garage shops fix a very basic problem - the engine was experiencing oil pressure issues. By the time all was said and done, they had spent around $2,500+ trying to have the engine fixed. After members of their church stepped in to help them out with another working vehicle, they parked the Buick and have now decided to sell it to prevent the accumulation of any further storage fees.
Originally, to avoid garage fees, they had a private individual repair the engine for $700. He ended up putting 200 miles on the car, performing no repairs and taking their money. They decided to accept the labor cost and have a garage repair the car. After an entire 3-month summer, one garage charged them over $900 for replacement of intake and head gaskets which had nothing to do with the oil issue. Problem was not solved. A second garage kept the car a few more months, attempted to do similar repairs and also charged them over $900. They still failed to properly diagnose and fix the problem. The car body is in good condition with the only major rust being a hole in the area of the driver's rear door in front of the wheel (picture included). All other body panels/components are in good to very good condition. There is some clear coat peeling off the hood, however, there is no visible rust in this area. The interior was kept pretty clean as both of my parents are in their mid-upper 50s, took care of the car and are non-smokers. They purchased the car from the original owner, a GM mechanic. Work done to the car has been as follows and they have work orders or receipts in a file for the car. Some items do not have a value as I was informed of additional paperwork still in the car which shall be retrieved soon. Replacement of: Supercharger Unit Alternator / Pump engine bracket Complete front sub-frame assembly (over $800) All four rear mounts and washers Stabilizer Bar End Link Wheel Cylinder Air conditioning work Radiator replaced with new Exhaust = Cat-back to muffler ($110) Fuel Pump and one fuel tank strap (over $200) Ignition Control Module ($90) Battery (16 months old - installed 9/25/2012 - $100) Engine Overhaul (all parts listed below have never seen road use): New Front Crank Seal New Oil Pan Gasket New Timing cover Gasket New Serpentine Belt New Crank Sensor New Oil Pump Gears New Oil Pick Up Tube New Front Exhaust Manifold Gasket New Head Bolts New Head Gasket Set The engine DOES NOT RUN despite all of the above work, but can still be made to run according to my brother (a Verizon fleet mechanic). It will need the lower end disassembled and new rods and bearings installed. My parents have decided they can no longer afford to be hurt by shops and individuals who don't care. One note - at some point in time, the driver's door window control unit went missing. It is the only interior part missing. All parts for these older Park Avenue cars are expensive and are getting harder to find. A typical salvage yard can earn nearly $7,500 from the parts in this car. My parents told me to sell the car for their repair investment ONLY and to not include their purchase value for the car. Therefore, after reviewing their files, I will be attempting to earn $3000 for the car. The car has seen no road time in nearly two years meaning most of the installed parts are either BRAND NEW or NEARLY NEW. This is a chance to pick up an entire 3.8L Supercharged 1995 Buick Park Avenue with sunroof parts car for a fraction of the car's value as parts or as a 90% rebuilt runner. A good engine mechanic can make this work for you - my parents have just had enough. Other work done to the car will be added as documentation is found and reviewed. Please note that you MUST tow/trailer the car as it does not currently run. Removal of the car is the responsibility of the buyer. The car is also for sale locally and I have the right to end this auction at any time. Thank you. Please contact me for additional pictures. GOOD LUCK and PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS before bidding!! |

Black Friday could power record November sales
Thu, Nov 26 2015Black Friday allows some shoppers to line up in the wee hours for doorbuster deals on laptops and TVs, but the day after Thanksgiving could mean huge profits for automakers this year, too. Multiple industry analysts predict record growth for the industry for November, and the upcoming incentives could help those numbers. TrueCar predicts that Black Friday incentives could provide a major boost, and it estimates a November sales jump of 3.9 percent from last year to a record for the month at over 1.35 million vehicles. As examples of potential deals, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC plan to offer up to 20 percent off some models, and FCA US has no-interest financing for up to 75 months from its brands. "Consumers are excited about Black Friday promotions and these month-long events appear to be resonating with car buyers." Eric Lyman, TrueCar's vice president of industry insights, said in the report. Black Friday only recently became a big day for auto sales, according to an analysis from Edmunds. Last year, Thanksgiving weekend posted double the sales as any other weekend in the month. The company predicts a sales volume of over 1.33 million vehicles for November. If that happens, it would be the beat the previous record of 1.32 million sales for the same month in 2001. Some forecasts temper the gains for November but only slightly. Kelley Blue Book predicts flat year-over-year sales at 1.3 million vehicles, but that's largely because there are two fewer sales days in 2015 versus in 2014. "Black Friday deals on vehicles have grown in popularity in recent years, and should be a big contributor to this month's sales results," said analyst Tim Fleming in the study. The combined research from J.D. Power and LMC Automotive have the lowest November prediction among this group at just over 1.279 million sales for the month versus 1.299 million in 2014. However, once the researchers adjust the figures for the two fewer selling days, 2015 could actually be seven percent higher than last year. TrueCar Finds New Auto Sales in November to Reach Monthly Record Black Friday promotions bolster sales gains; industrywide incentives up 6% from last year November 24, 2015 12:11 PM Eastern Standard Time SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE) projects total new vehicle sales, including fleet deliveries, will reach 1,352,500 units in November, a 3.9 percent increase from a year ago and the highest ever for the month.
2016 Buick Regal prices slashed
Tue, Aug 4 2015The Buick Regal is getting an aggressive price cut for the 2016 model year to keep pace in a crossover-centric world and its own hyper-competitive midsize sedan segment. The 2016 Buick Regal GS now starts at $35,915, after a $925 destination charge, which amounts to a $3,320 price cut compared to 2015. There's no de-contenting associated with the cost decreases either, and the vehicles are now available with Apple CarPlay. The lower prices follow through much of the lineup. The 1SP Premium model sees a $2,535 savings at $33,415 after destination; the 1SL trim falls $1,000 to $30,840; and the 1SV maintains at $28,915. The decision to make these cuts is meant to better position the midsize sedan against its rivals. "We know consumer sentiment towards sedans has decreased," Buick spokesperson Nick Richards said to Autoblog. CUVs like the company's own Encore are where buyers are moving. "Repositioning the Regal to more aggressively compete in the midsize sedan segment is the first of many steps we are taking in advance of next year's product offensive," Buick sales vice president Duncan Aldred said in a letter to dealers, according to USA Today. The decision probably couldn't have come at a better time because the Regal has suffered so far in 2015. Through July, the company has delivered 10,928 of them, down a significant 19.3 percent from the same period last year. A recent study also found that the model was among the most likely in the US to be sold after just one year of ownership.
2018 Buick Regal GS is the best Regal since the GNX
Wed, Jul 19 2017The 2018 Buick Regal GS, the third and final variant of the all-new Buick Regal, was revealed this morning. At the event, we were given a brief chance to drive the Regal Sportback, the Regal TourX, and the Regal GS at GM's proving grounds in Milford, MI. Buick has been working hard to shed its image as the brand that comes with an AARP membership card in the glovebox, and this handsome trio is definitely on the right path. With a solid list of features at competitive prices, it's now going to be up to Buick's marketing division to get customers into showrooms. We should say right off the bat that while the old G-Body Grand National and GNX were hardcore giant slayers, the new Regal GS isn't intended to be so sharp edged. Those '80s machines were focused on 0-60 times, and looking as sinister as possible. The new Regal is far more civilized that its forebear. They may share a name, but the purpose has changed. The standard Regal Sportback starts at $25,915 - that's $2,470 less than the outgoing model. It might be the most attractive Buick in decades, at least on the outside. The interior is typical GM, meaning lots of colors and textures without a defining theme. It's powered solely by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four making 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a nine-speed automatic. From behind the wheel, the Regal Sportback is quiet, comfortable, and generally relaxed. The 2.0-liter turbo makes a decent amount of power, but the steering and handling remind you that this isn't a sport sedan. That's not a fault, simply a conscious design choice. Despite what some enthusiasts would lead you to believe, not everything needs to be set up for the N urburgring. The Regal Sportback soaks up bumps fairly well, though the car felt light going over some larger bumps on GM's handling course. The steering is completely dead, but it doesn't feel loose or sloppy. There's simply no feedback from the tires. On the other hand, the brakes were surprisingly good. The pedal was firm and confidence-inspiring. Stopping quickly from 60 mph provided no drama. View 12 Photos The $29,995 Regal TourX is a high-riding wagon in the vein of the Subaru Outback, Audi A4 Allroad, and Volvo V60 Cross Country. Like those three, the Regal TourX comes standard with some beefy plastic cladding and all-wheel drive, giving some pretense of off-road capability.
