This posting is for my Mother-In-Law's car since she is not able to drive any longer. The car is a Dark Charcoal Grey paint with a grey full leather interior. The car is your standard 2004 Buick LeSabre with all of the normal options. She was the second owner of the car and bought from the original owner who had used it for highway driving over long distances. The car had over 80K miles within the first 3 years. It was bought in 2007 in great condition. The car currently has 135K miles on it and has been taken care of mechanically in Magnolia since 2007. The oil was just changed and it is currently licensed, inspected, insured, driven daily and ready to roll. The AC works very well and it is a great highway car. The average full consumption is about 25 MPG from the typical Buick V6.

Options include, power seats, power door locks, power trunk release, twilight sentinel lighting, AM/FM/CD/Cassette player, twin front seats, dual lighted sun visors for each side with the second part that allows you to use it in front and side at the same time, cast aluminum wheels, electronic fuel/tire/odometer/gage information, two tone grey and black interior, perfect carpet, seats, cruise control, steering wheel control buttons for radio etc, electronic review mirror with compass.

There are two things that you must be aware of.
There is a problem in the dash, could be a fuse or something like that, that does not allow the fuel gauge, temperature sensor, or tachometer to work. They have not worked for over 6 years, but the car runs fine. They have simply used the electronic trip odometer to gage the amount of fuel in the tank. I would have taken it to the Buick dealer to get it checked, but they have been on a limited income and now have medical bills to pay, so the car must go. The sooner the better as hospital bills are coming in. The second issue is the console door on the top of the front seat has a broken piece of plastic that is attached to the hinge. Buick still carries the part and it is available now.
There is one small scratch on the left rear corner too. Headliner is held up with pins in one area and could be done better, again, a limited income. For a 10 year old car, it has been a good one with hardly any mechanical problems. Tires are in great shape too.

Overall, the car is mechanically sound, a great car for someone who wants a large safe car that gets great gas mileage. We have been a Buick family for many years and these are great cars and we still have others in our family with more miles than this LeSabre. If you need a great second car, a safe car for a child's first car, a great highway cruiser, or just local reliable transportation, this is your car. It is currently garaged at my house in Cypress, Texas and available for showing/driving.

Any exchange of cash for this car will be done at a local bank so that the funds may be verified and the paperwork acknowledged properly. The title is clear and we need to sell the car this week if possible. Please call me with any questions.

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

GM will recall more than 3.3 million vehicles in China for suspension defect

Sat, Sep 29 2018

BEIJING (Reuters) - General Motors' joint venture in China, Shanghai GM, will recall more than 3.3 million Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles stating Oct. 20 because of a defect with the suspension system, China's market regulator said on Saturday. GM Shanghai said in a text message to Reuters that the suspension arm may be deformed under extreme operating conditions, but there are no known casualties related to the issue. The recall includes cars produced between 2013 and 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement. GM will contact those affected and repair the vehicles free of charge, it said. Junkyard Gem: 1988 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan

Sun, Aug 14 2022

The General's Buick Division began selling LeSabres for the 1959 model year, when it greeted the world with a cat-eyed face and razor-sharp tailfins, and the LeSabre rolled on the full-sized, rear-wheel-drive B Platform (best-known for underpinning the Chevrolet Impala and Caprice) all the way through 1985. For 1986, the LeSabre went to the front-wheel-drive H Platform, shedding a few hundred pounds and a half-foot of wheelbase, yet gaining interior room in the process. After that, every LeSabre ever made had a V6 engine driving the front wheels, all the way to the end in 2005. Here's one of those early H-Body LeSabres, found in a Denver-area self-service yard in incredibly clean condition. Some Buicks and Oldsmobiles of the mid-to-late 1980s (the ones on brand-new platforms) had six-digit odometers, which is the reason I was able to see that a discarded '86 Olds Calais with crazy customizing touches had better than 360,000 miles on the clock. This car just barely squeezed past 100,000 miles … and that's a higher number than I expected to see after glancing at the body and interior. Just look at that upholstery! There are no rips, and the only stains appear to have occurred after arrival in the junkyard ecosystem. I think we're looking at a one-owner car that was given meticulous care and was driven only to (a nearby) church on Sundays. Though the HRC sticker and Autobot badge seem out of place on an original-owner Buick that rolled out of the showroom 34 years ago. Perhaps the car was handed down from Owner #1 to a grandchild. This is the most high-zoot radio Buick would sell you in a 1988 LeSabre, complete with Dolby, auto-reverse cassette player, and scan/seek modes on the radio. The price tag on this? 282 bucks, or about 720 inflation-shrunk frogskins today; not cheap, but necessary to do justice to the hit songs of the day. If you wanted a factory CD player in a new LeSabre, you had to wait another year or two. Pollard Brothers Motors is still around, on the other side of the Continental Divide from the Denver region. Power came from an EFI-equipped Buick 3.8-liter V6, rated at 150 horsepower. The only transmission available was a four-speed automatic. Except for some dents that almost certainly happened at the junkyard, the paint and body look gorgeous. Problem is, H-Body LeSabres don't have an enthusiast following, and car shoppers looking for daily drivers tend to shy away from sedans this old.
