Up for auction a Buick Lesabre Convertible 455ci "Survivor". Last year of the convertible ! Only about 5300 were made. (even less with a 455ci.engine) I purchased it in 2012 from an estate where it had been sitting untouched since 1984 in a metal building on the property. It was like opening a time capsule with even the original Firestone 721 Radial spare in the trunk unused! The 31,131 miles are documented, as the previous owner kept all the paperwork (included with sale). The vehicle was sold new in Georgia in early 1975 and then found its way to a Buick dealer in Warsaw NY where the previous owner purchased it in March of 1976. The car had 14,000 miles on it at the time. The original window sticker is also included. The interior and top are original. It has the rare "Parade Boot" option. The paint appears to have some touch-up work on it but there was no major repaint. The following work was done: All fluids were flushed and replaced, all hoses and belts replaced, new brake master cylinder and booster, new Delco spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air conditioning converted to R134A and blows ice cold, undercarriage which was originally undercoated in 1975 was redone by Ziebart (if you are familiar with their work the car was done twice since they missed some spots the first time!), new Cooper Trendsetter 235.75R.15 tires, interior was dismantled and the seats, foam, coverings and the rest of the car interior were professionally disinfected, ozoned and deodorized due to some critter visits during the long storage, carpets and underlayment are new, mechanical digital clock restored and works, Factory AM/FM 8 Track Stereo works, it is registered and passes New York State Inspection. And for the Buick Purests in the crowd, the engine is the correct color from doing research and examination of the engine parts. It is not a Pontiac color and is not suppose to be Buick red. The color is a 2 year color called Strato Blue Metallic which Buick used to identify their engines. It is available only from OEM Industries and the remaining unused 2 cans will be included. The air cleaner sticker is also correct and there are no other stickers to be installed on it. The body has gloss to it and was polished as well as the chrome. The body has 38 years of chips, dings, and scratches and the chrome has some sun bleaching. It is not perfect! All body panels, frame, floors and trunk are solid and have no rust issues. The trim is in very good shape. Nothing is missing from the car. It is truly a survivor! You can drive it home safely and with confidence. Please message me through eBay if you have any questions or need additional information. The reserve price is reasonable, realistic and inline (not outrageous) with NADA book value for a car of its year, condition and category. A $700.00 deposit is due within 24 hours after the auction through PayPal. The balance to be paid by cash or Wire Transfer from a U.S. Bank. The vehicle will not be released until funds are verified. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility but I will assist in any way I can. Zero feedback bidders need to contact me first or their bid will be removed. Thanks and Happy Bidding!

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
2016 Buick Envision might be your first Chinese-built crossover
Mon, Jan 11 2016At the Detroit Auto Show, the new Envision crossover flips the traditional Buick paridigm on its head. We've been hearing for years about strong sales of the Buick brand in China, but now we'll see if North America is ready for a Chinese-built (but, as GM is very quick to point out, American-engineered) CUV. The Envision rides on the latest version of the Delta 2 platform that underpins many GM vehicles. It'll slot between the tiny Encore and the cavernous Enclave, which is a nice sweet spot for volume sales in the hot crossover market. Gas is cheap, and Americans are eating these vehicles up – in a market like this, does it really matter where the Envision was actually screwed together? The powertrain package is surprisingly compelling – perhaps there will be some life to the driving experience. Motivation is provided by a 252-horsepower turbo inline-four and a six-speed auto, and in a first for a Buick crossover, it'll feature the torque-steer fighting HiPer suspension, which splits up steering and suspension duties in a way that'll tidy up the front axle's manners under power. A few other neat tricks make it into the Envision, like active grille shutters to squeeze some extra efficiency out of the CUV, and available park assist. The 2016 Buick Envision goes on sale later this year. Buick Introduces Envision Luxury Crossover DETROIT – The 2016 Envision is an all-new luxury compact crossover with segment-challenging driving dynamics, advanced technology, connectivity and Buick's trademark interior acoustics. It is a global vehicle, designed from the ground up as a Buick luxury compact crossover. It goes on sale in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2016. "The all-new Buick Envision is a modern, confident and responsive luxury compact crossover that combines the brand's core characteristics with great performance features like our HiPer strut suspension," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick.
2013 Buick Verano Turbo
Thu, 03 Jan 2013Not Luxury. Not Sport. Not Buick. Not Bad.
Those of you who still think of the Buick Verano as some sort of callously badge-engineered, gussied up version of the Chevrolet Cruze ("Why would anyone spend that much money on Buick's Cruze?" you may have been heard to mutter) have got the wrong idea. Entirely. Even in its most modest form, the Verano turns out to be a sedan that is feature-rich, insulated from wind and road noise in proper luxury car fashion, pretty good to drive and not bad to look at in the new school of high-nosed pedestrian-impact-regulated fashion. In a less modest form then, one that attaches the word "Turbo" to the moniker and plops a force-fed 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the Verano is downright interesting.
Of course, "interesting" is rarely a descriptor that fills one with lust - and so it goes with this example. There are two competing forces within this near-premium subcompact sedan, and the balance struck between them must resonate with any potential customer before the Verano Turbo can become a serious purchase consideration.
