I have a rare but custom 59 Buick Lesabre 2 door coupe up for sale with clean title and current registration in Northern CA. The body has had a 71 Pontiac frame and running gear fitted underneath, Pontiac 400 big block with dual exhaust and 2 barrel carb getting 16MPG, 400 auto trans. The entire body of the car was taken apart to be soda blasted before paint was applied the antenna was smoothed, door handles no poppers or cylinoids, mirrors, windshield wipers and the rear pan under the rear bumper was shortened and welded in with a custom fabricated rear bumper bracket. The whole entire body of the car was disassembled and everything removed stainless trim, mouldings, front clip, doors, trunk lid, hood, interior and glass were removed before paint and then the soda blasting began. The interior of the car was removed and the floor pan was sealed and painted black. Before the paint was applied all the steel was sealed and primed and then a PPG triple out white base coat and PPG clear coat was added, the top section of the car is PPG dark tropical teal with PPG clear as well. After the completion of the paint the car was reassembled with new fasteners, weather stripping and new front and rear glass. The hood hinges have been plated as well as the hood latch assembly, the doors and trunk lid assembly have been zinc plated as well. The stainless trim has been restraightened and polished. All the exterior chrome has been replated with a new custom grille and then a set of new tail lenses, parking lenses and head lights. The car sits super low with cut coils and no it is not bagged but has a small helper compressor mounted in the trunk (disconnected) for bags and rides really nice. To finish it off it had a set of Appliance wires with 3" Coker white walls. Moving to the interior of the car it had all new foam and vinyl added. The door panels were cut with new fiber board and all metal interior components were soda blasted and sealed before paint and interior layed. It has a Sony CD player, two 500 watt amps, with two kicker ten inch subs, 2 6x9 speakers. New gauges were installed but it does not have a speedometer it was on back order when interior was installed. The trunk compartment has had a custom trunk kit built where the side compartments open for storage and battery access. The car starts right up and was built for warm California weather with the windows down. The heater works but is missing a cable and the ac needs to be recharged. I never drove this car in the rain or cold so the above items mentioned were not important to me, I had it built for me. If you have any questions feel free to ask and this car is a show stopper and gathers major conversations at any show or while out driving. Buyer to pay for all shipping charges and $500.00 dollar deposit through Pay pal required 48 hours after winning bid. Remainder of Payment  maybe cashiers check or wire transfer accepted. But car will not be shipped  or released until funds are cleared by bank.

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.

Buick Adam a reality after all... but only in China

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

General Motors may have parred down its brand portfolio, but it still has more under its umbrella than most. That's why, while a company like Ford might market the same vehicle under its own name in markets around the world, GM uses different brands in different markets. But no two are aligned quite as closely as Opel in Europe and Buick in the United States and China.
What we know here as the Buick Regal is sold overseas as the Opel Insignia. Our Encore is their Mokka. Verano? Astra sedan. But one thing we don't get here is the Opel Adam. The diminutive city car is GM's take on the Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, Citroën DS3 et al. Launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Opel Adam is named after the company's founder (like an ironic thumbing of the nose to the Ferrari Enzo). But while it's sold, like most Opels, in the UK as a Vauxhall, the prospect of it porting over to Buick seems slim to none. Right?
Sorta. While the Adam isn't likely to come Stateside, the latest reports (as yet unconfirmed by GM) suggest that The General is planning to sell the Adam in China where the Buick brand is also a strong seller. Local production could ensue, with prices targeting the Fiat 500 and engines - according to CarNewsChina.com - to include inline-fours displacing 1.2 and 1.4 liters with 69 and 100 horsepower, respectively.

GM China President says automaker could export vehicles from China to US

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

At a press conference on Saturday at the Shanghai Motor Show, General Motors announced plans to further expand its presence in the Chinese market. Among those commitments are plans to build four new plants by the end of 2015, giving the automaker the capacity to produce around five million vehicles a year in the country.
In order to make the most of that expansion, GM is adding 400 dealerships in China this year alone (for a total of 4,200 sales points), and it's eyeing 5,100 dealers by 2015. Yet not all of that production will stay in China - GM is planning to increase exports as well. Officials estimate the company will export somewhere between 100,000 and 130,000 Chinese-built vehicles this year - a record. And it's gunning for more.
Autoblog asked GM China president Bob Socia (above) if that means the company might eventually export new vehicles built in China to the United States, and he responded:
