2022 Buick Enclave reportedly getting Black Accent package
Mon, Jul 26 2021Buick's updated Enclave crossover will go on sale later in 2021 with a revised design and a longer list of standard features. When it lands, it will reportedly be offered with a dealer-installed blacked-out appearance package. Enthusiast website GM Authority learned the optional Black Accent package will consist of black mesh inserts in the grille and black trim on the hatch; these bits are bright in the standard 2022 Enclave (pictured). They'll be installed by the selling dealer, meaning the Enclave won't leave the factory with the Black Accent package, and the bundle has been assigned Regular Production Option (RPO) code PDM; every General Motors option gets an RPO code. Not all trim levels will be eligible to receive the Black Accent package. It'll be available on the Premium and Essence trim, according to the same source, but it will not be compatible with the range-topping Avenir trim. Additionally, buyers won't be able to tick the Black Accent box if they've also selected the Essence trim's Sport Touring Edition package or the Luxury Package that can be fitted to the Premium and Essence trim levels. Pricing information isn't available yet, though the package will reportedly not be available at launch. Buick hasn't commented on the report, and it hasn't announced plans to make a Black Accent package available on the Enclave. Opel Insignia OPC getting facelift. Will the Buick Regal GS see it, too?
Tue, 07 Aug 2012We've seen spy shots of the base Opel Insignia wearing facelifted front and rear ends, and now it appears that the more potent OPC version will be benefitting from a nip/tuck, as well.
The front bumper has been redesigned, incorporating new air intakes - toned-down versions of the model's signature fangs - as well as a new grille. Out back, there will be minimal changes to the overall fascia, most likely stuff like slightly redesigned taillamps, and inside, these spy shots show a larger navigation/infotainment screen sitting atop the center console.
This is all well and good for the Insignia, but we're wondering how these changes will impact North America's Buick Regal GS. No, it may not share the same powertrain punch as the Euro-spec OPC, but visually, the cars are nearly identical. When questioned about possible changes for the GS, a Buick spokesperson told us that the automaker "can't comment" on any changes at this point. Even so, we wouldn't be surprised if some small changes come our way in the next year or so.
Trademarks indicate Buick Regal wagon could be on the way
Wed, Dec 23 2015American wagon fans have been waiting for General Motors to import a Buick-badged version of the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer since the current Insignia-based Regal hit dealers. If a new patent filing is any indication, that day could be coming soon. Then again, it might not mean anything. AutoGuide reports that Buick has filed two trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office for "Motor land vehicles, namely automobiles." You can see the trademarks for "Tourx" and "Regal Tourx" here and here. "Tour" smacks of wagon models, while the "x" – for all-wheel drive – makes us wonder if maybe we'll be seeing a rebadged version of the high-riding Opel Insignia Country Tourer (shown above). This isn't the first time Buick has stoked the hopes of US wagon fans, though. Earlier this year, trademarks were filed for the "Regal Sport Touring," a name that's very close to the Euro-market wagon's title. In fact, that trademark had the same description as the Tourx/Regal Tourx filings. As we've established before, automakers file trademarks all the time. It's far from a guarantee that anything will come of such trademarked names. Still, two wagon-ish filings with the USPTO from Buick in under a year makes it seem like there's at least someone at the Trishield brand that's campaigning for a long-roof Regal.
