1965 BUICK ELECTRA 225
FOUR DOOR HARDTOP

ONLY TWO OWNERS SINCE NEW

This beautiful Electra 225 was Buick's top of the line luxury car of 1965.
This car is loaded with all power options including rare power vent windows.
Over the next few months, we will be selling some very nice project cars ready to
restore and take to the next level and reasonable reserves...

We sell a lot of cars and are always busy with reconditioning... We have a  group of
very nice cars for which we planned to complete full rehabs, but out labor resources are
tight. We have decided to offer this group project cars to make room and allow
a buyer to get a good car at a good price... Normally, our cars are completely
repaired. This batch will run and drive, ready for your TLC...

First titled in New York in 1965, this car spent its life with its original
owner's family until 1993. New York owner #2 purchased the car from the
estate in 1992 and stored the car in his warehouse for twenty years...

It is a very original car with no signs of body panel rust or accident damage.
Three small rust spots behinds both front wheel wells on one in the left
passenger rocker panel. Nothing major, easy to repair on repaint.

This car has had one older enamel repaint in the correct factory
Gold Metallic. Parts are faded and parts are very nice, ready for a repaint.

Original seats and door panels, showing little wear and in very nice
condition. Original dash with real wood veneer trim. Very nice door
panels and original carpet. Needs a headliner due to sagging.

This car is equipped with the original 401 cubic inch, 325 HP
V-8 engine and factory automatic transmission. Car runs and
drives very nicely... Looks like no one has ever touched the
engine compartment. Original air cleaner is missing...

GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers

Fri, Oct 26 2018

Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. Buick Avista concept is 'buildable', but not a priority

Tue, Mar 22 2016

Buick could build the striking Avista concept that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, though it's not a top priority, the brand's top executive said Tuesday in New York. "The reaction's been so great, we'll try to run the numbers and see if there's a business case," said Duncan Aldred, Buick vice president of sales, service, and marketing. Buick will show the Avista in red this week at the New York Auto Show as a followup to its Detroit debut. Buick actually built two prototypes, which are being used to promote the brand's performance potential at auto shows around the world this year. "It's very buildable," Aldred told reporters after the reveal of the reveal of the 2017 Encore small crossover before the New York Auto Show. "Ultimately, it comes down to priorities." He added, "We'd love to do it. We could do it, but [there's] lots of things we'd love to do... Nothing to confirm or deny." The Avista concept suggests a sports car with a twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower put to the rear wheels. The two-door followed another impressive Buick concept, the Avenir, which was four-door styling exercise from the 2015 Detroit show. Though the Avista remains on the minds of enthusiasts – helped in part by Buick – the priorities for the brand are crossovers. The Avista offers style, but the freshened Encore is the substance for Buick in New York, which along with the Envision, launches this year into the red-hot utility segment. The new Cascada convertible and redesigned LaCrosse also are joining Buick's lineup this year. While the Avista is doable, the brand clearly has other priorities ahead of it. Related Video:

Buick Envision CUV launches in China, is America next?

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Buick is launching its new midsize Envision crossover in China at the Chengdu Motor Show, where it will slot between the subcompact Encore and larger Enclave. While it might be hard to muster too much excitement about a Chinese-market crossover, don't completely ignore this one. There's a very good chance it could be on sale in North America to fill the same hole in the brand's lineup over here, possibly as a 2016 model.
We recently spied the Envision completely undisguised as it was arriving at the Chengdu show for its debut. The CUV still looks like a stretched Encore from some front angles, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's got a similar oversized grille, hood vents (presumably faux) and large greenhouse as its little brother. Where the midsize CUV differs is its prominent crease running down the side and the different rear treatment, with wing-shaped trim cutting into the taillights.
The interior looks like a pretty nice place to spend time, too, with a predictable mix of leather, wood and metal, and it should be quiet in there with its active noise cancelation system. Infotainment is provided by an eight-inch touchscreen with a touchpad and voice controls.
